The cursor on my Torch 9810 has disappeared. No matter how much I try to rub the 'trackball/trackpad' the cursor just won't reappear.I removed the battery, waited about 2 mins, reinserted it, but the problem persists! Please help! What shud I do? A lot of aplications depend on the trackpad and cursor.
My BlackBerry Torch 9810's trackpad stopped working.
It has been an ongoing problem for about two weeks. Sometimes it works other times it doesnt.
I tried battery pulls and they never seemed to work instanteously although sometimes after the 3rd or 4th battery pull and 20 minutes of the phone being back 'on' it would work.
Now it's been about 3 hours since it last worked. I've installed the latest update for BB. I'm removing every program that is on it to try to get it to work.
I don't think it's a hardware problem because sometimes the trackpad works, and others it doesnt. If it was a hardware problem I dont think it would be on and off.
Note: the click function of the trackpad button works just fine. However I cant use it to go N, S, E, & W.
I bought a used 9810 for a decent price, it was listed as *mint* and the cosmetic condition I'd say would be at best very very good (it had a lot of gunk under the case they had on it, I had to clean it for them).
So anyways I got it all set up I tranferred all my info from my older Torch 9800, then I pulled the 9810 out of my pocket and it was flipping through "All" "Favourites" "Downloads" "Frequents" and all of those. So I was obviously confused.
After using the phone a lot I realized that it's just the "cursor" or the pointer that is moving quickly to the top-left of the screen. If I'm on the internet I see the little pointer icon moving to the top-left corner. If I'm on anything like the main screen or blackberry app world there is a flick to the left.
To see exactly what I'm describing look at the video --> Here <-- please.
I think this is the track-pad, some other people on crackberry thought it was the screen, so I would just like to know which it is. Because this is a used phone, I do not know any of the real backround of it. I was told it was well taken care of.
Is there a simple way to fix this? (Factory Reset) or would this trackpad or screen need to be replaced?
I'm having trackball problem with my 8900, Its trackball moves freely but the cursor doesn't moves at all. I have tried all known issues like 'hard restart &wipeout handheld" but it doesn't help at all.
I have an old curve (more than 2 yrs old). I dropped it accidentally due to which the trackball is broken now.How do I move the cursor around without the trackball?
I purchases 8900 in Feb 2010 and from past 10 - 15 days my trackball is not working properly. It is only working in Horizontally. When i move trackball vertically it moves but the cursor does not move it and is stationed at one place only. Can you please help or can some one help me in giving the details of the service center in Delhi, India.
I'm new to the forum and have some frustration after "upgrading" to OS 6. I have a Curve 3G through Verizon Wireless, and when I got it a month ago all was great with OS 5. I updated it to OS 6 when it came out a couple weeks ago from VZW, and since then have had a ton of problems. The first was battery drain, which was solved by removing BBM. The second is more frustrating. Since the upgrade, my cursor seems to jump out of my text message or email very easily while typing. I also notice that when selecting apps it seems that my trackpad jumps around quite easily. They both seem to be exaggerated when outside or sitting near a light or window. It almost acts like the trackpad is effected by light and is causing the cursor to be moved out of my message or around my screen since I've updated software versions. I have tried several battery pulls without success and while I enjoy the new features of OS 6, I don't enjoy the hassles. I feel like the only way to solve the issue is to go back to OS 5 untl there are some patches to fix some of these bugs.
My BB Curve 9300 was doing okay until last night when it started to act weird. At first I thought I was imagining it but then the cursor kept on moving upwards whenever i move the trackpad. This happens intermittently. I have also noticed earlier that when I went out of my house and used it with the wind blowing and the sun glaring, it moved by itself and keeps on going upwards.
Ever since I first got the 9900 is had some weird issues. The trackpad would occassionally stop working and only the press button function would respond. I i navigate to the settings the trackpad option now reports trackball, but this is not always the case. Now I'm getting the trackpad failing more often than ever, and also the phone also goes into a very slow unresponsive mode, it now takes me a few hours of repeatedly pulling the battery until it boots back into a functioning phone. if the battery pull fails it can take between 2-10mins to boot. If its works then it take <2mins. But the success rate is not worse every time the phone fails.
The shortcut bar on my home screen showing my icons is gone replaced by just an arrow pointing up that I have to click on to see any icons. How do I get my icons to reappear on my home screen?
opying contacts from a Bold 9810 to another 9810.Using the BB Desktop Software I did a full backup of the device (which contained 400+ contacts), then did a full restore on a new 9810, but only 200 contacts were copied over.Next I tried to do a selective restore, but although the 400+ contacts were in the file, it was grayed out and could not be selected. How can I get all the contacts into the new 9810. (Side note: I was able to restore the 400+ contacts to a BB Bold).
cursor moves around withoud control, making it very difficult to write or use apps. This happens both when using the touch screen but also with the physical keyboard...
I have long conversations with people via sms sometimes as I get unlimited texts. If there's more than about 10 texts between me and someone and I'm scrolling up (say if I want to remember something that's been said a while back so scroll up to find a previous text) a lot of the time the torch cursor will disappear and it won't let me continue to scroll? It's as if it's frozen but if I exit the text conversation the rest of the phone is fine. And it freezes exactly in the same place every time!
so here's my problem. i went over to a friends house today for a barbecue, and when i got there i sent a text so i know everything was working fine. a few hours later i get home and notice that the screen on my Curve is black, and i knew something was up because i know it was fully charged before i left the house earlier. hit the buttons and nothing. so i do a battery pull and it reboots fine, then the screen goes black after 30 seconds and then hit the buttons and nothing. when i hook a mini usb cable up to the port, the screen comes back on for the usual 30 seconds, then goes black like the other times. when i connected it via the cable and the screen lit up, i noticed that the trackball scrolls fine left and right, but pushing the trackball does nothing.the phone is about a year and a half old, through Verizon. i have no problem with getting a new phone, but i don't want to loose the 150 or so contacts i have on the phone. i don't have Google Sync installed on the phone, and i'm guessing that it's too late to back anything up now on my end. when i connect it to my PC, i can access the usually Media folders and Slacker, but nothing else. if i take it into a local VZW store, would they be able to back up my address book the exact way it is now, since the phone powers on and the USB port works fine?i'm going to remove the shell tonight and see if i notice anything.
I upgraded my Verizon Curve 8330 to a Tour and now my trackball is acting up. I'm thinking of changing the trackballs since I never had a problem with the Curve. Are they all the same size or has anyone had problems trying this. I'm not worried about taking it apart or the warranty, but would like to see if this was successful for anyone else first.
my touch pad on my torch scrolls but will not click on anything. is there anything i can do to get it to work? i just had the phone replaced in december and it crashed in april.
I've got a bb torch 9800 which I've had nearly a year but over the past few months I've had problems with the trackball were its working 1 min then the next its not but recently I did a software update and it seems to have just stopped working altogether no matter what I do and try
I'm having some issues with the Torch trackpad. It is EXTREMELY slow to scroll up or down in the browser. More slow up than down. Sometimes it's responsive, sometimes it's not. Also somtimes when I'm scrolling, it will just stop randomly. Annyone else having issues using their Torch trackpad scrolling vertically? Any tips to make it better?
Is my phone screwed? I didn't drop it or get it wet or anything like that, it just stopped working. I tried battery resets, I also tried removing battery and pressing the button 5 times as I heard this may fix it. None of that works. Is there any fix for the trackpad button not working or should I just buy a iphone, i'm getting tired of blackberry issues.
My Torch 9800 has lost the ability to zoom, either by the trackpad or using the touchscreen. It is also running very slow and freezes sometimes.I am running the most up to date software.
Trying to fix my trackpad issue for bb torch 9800..just had it since a month and trackpad not working at all.can anyone help please? do you think it has a link with my bundle which is now still 6.0 - 2475 one.
My torch is 3 months old. As of Sunday morning the track pad and touchscreen has become unresponsive. It also crashing every once in a while for no appearent reason. It has not been dropped or exposed to water. So far I've tried battery pulls and a restore through the desktop manager. Which has obviously not fixed anything.
