View 1 Replies View RelatedMy torch is 3 months old. As of Sunday morning the track pad and touchscreen has become unresponsive. It also crashing every once in a while for no appearent reason. It has not been dropped or exposed to water. So far I've tried battery pulls and a restore through the desktop manager. Which has obviously not fixed anything.
View 2 Replies View RelatedA month ago I bought a blackberry torch 9800. At that moment I was very happy with it, because my other blackberry (curve 8520) had to be repared. ut now my bb 9800 has a failure. At this moment the trackpad works on 1 part of te screen. So you have to activate the part of the screen by touchscreen. For example: you can scroll through the menu but not scroll to the sound profiles. Therefore you have to touch the icon on the screen. And sometimes the keyboard doesn't work either. The buttons: dial, menu, return and on/off aren't working either.I have tried many things. Hard boot, master boot and a complete new installation of the OS.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI have had my BB for about a month now and it was working fine. The trackpad is very responsive and when the unit is closed the track pad works great but about a week ago the trackpad stopped working when the keyboard slider was open, after a few swipes it would come back to life however now the problem is worsened to the point where the trackpad is unresponsive when the kb is opened but as soon as I slide the kb back the track pad comes to life, this is the second unit that I have had problems with in 30 days. I have tried all the standard stuff like pulling the battery for a few hrs and such.
View 4 Replies View RelatedIf I dont hit the trackpad really quick it will bring up a menu in the middle of the screen that says things like "switch application" or "full menu" is there a way to disable that or not make it come up unless I hold the track pad down for an extra couple seconds?

View 3 Replies View RelatedAs an avid business crackberry fan (and business manager) for over 3 years, I was appalled to find that I would need to slide the keyboard out to enter my security code, especially when I would do it 50-100 times per day. As every other touchscreen phone on the market has a pattern unlock method, this is the single issue preventing from purchasing this phone(s) PLEASE ISSUE AN UPDATE/APP/PATCH anything to bring this vital security & efficiency issue up to par.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
Title speaks for its self. They just posted on there wall they will be offering it. No details as to when/price.

Only works with Vodafone Qatar as a mobile carrier. Thought it was my router problem, so I tried my old router which is Linksys WAG200G while my current is WAG160N and both had same problems. [My ADSL2+ Carrier is QTel which has BlackBerry Internet Service and BES contract with RIM]
Don't know what have caused it, I don't have any 3rd party applications other than Cupture It, I feel this problem started yesterday after downloading Facebook 2.0.0.23 Beta which overwritted my Facebook 2.0.0.19 Beta.Tried to call Vodafone Qatar for support, but they couldn't do anything up till now and they don't allow transfers to RIM Technical Support. and Yes I did a hard reset, even tried leaving batter out for a couple of minutes with no luck. Nothing changes.
I have a Torch 9850 and my memory is depleted. moving my MMS messages to my SD card. How is this done?
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy BlackBerry Torch 9810's trackpad stopped working.
It has been an ongoing problem for about two weeks. Sometimes it works other times it doesnt.
I tried battery pulls and they never seemed to work instanteously although sometimes after the 3rd or 4th battery pull and 20 minutes of the phone being back 'on' it would work.
Now it's been about 3 hours since it last worked. I've installed the latest update for BB. I'm removing every program that is on it to try to get it to work.
I don't think it's a hardware problem because sometimes the trackpad works, and others it doesnt. If it was a hardware problem I dont think it would be on and off.
Note: the click function of the trackpad button works just fine. However I cant use it to go N, S, E, & W.
Is my phone screwed? I didn't drop it or get it wet or anything like that, it just stopped working. I tried battery resets, I also tried removing battery and pressing the button 5 times as I heard this may fix it. None of that works. Is there any fix for the trackpad button not working or should I just buy a iphone, i'm getting tired of blackberry issues.
View 3 Replies View RelatedMy Torch 9800 has lost the ability to zoom, either by the trackpad or using the touchscreen. It is also running very slow and freezes sometimes.I am running the most up to date software.

Internet - blackberry 9800
I bought a used 9810 for a decent price, it was listed as *mint* and the cosmetic condition I'd say would be at best very very good (it had a lot of gunk under the case they had on it, I had to clean it for them).
So anyways I got it all set up I tranferred all my info from my older Torch 9800, then I pulled the 9810 out of my pocket and it was flipping through "All" "Favourites" "Downloads" "Frequents" and all of those. So I was obviously confused.
After using the phone a lot I realized that it's just the "cursor" or the pointer that is moving quickly to the top-left of the screen. If I'm on the internet I see the little pointer icon moving to the top-left corner. If I'm on anything like the main screen or blackberry app world there is a flick to the left.
To see exactly what I'm describing look at the video --> Here <-- please.
I think this is the track-pad, some other people on crackberry thought it was the screen, so I would just like to know which it is. Because this is a used phone, I do not know any of the real backround of it. I was told it was well taken care of.
Is there a simple way to fix this? (Factory Reset) or would this trackpad or screen need to be replaced?
The trackpad on my 9800 works fine when the slider is closed but stops working when the slider is open to reveal the keyboard. With the slider open or closed, the touch screen still works and the buttons and keys still operate properly.
I have done a complete device security wipe and re-install from scratch. The problem persists. I have OS 6.0 bundle 2949 (v6.0.0.668, Platform 6.6.0.236)
Whether it is a software or hardware problem, where is the diagnostic code or message to tell me?
I have had my Torch for 2 years so it is long out of warranty. I have had 4 RIM devices since 2004 and I used to be a big RIM fan but my allegiance is waning fast.
What were you guys doing in Waterloo whilst Samsung and Apple were creating prodcuts that functioned properly and support services that worked?
When I slide up the blackberry torch the trackpad stops working. If I slide down it continues working normal, Is this a kind of bug in the software?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI had a JVM 545 error come up last week. I finally fixed it after reinstalling the OS a couple times but now I've noticed the 'clicking' function of the trackpad is not working. When I press it down nothing happens. I can still scroll no problem but pressing it down does nothing.I've reinstalled the OS a couple times again and the problem still persists. Any ideas on how to fix it? I was working fine prior to the JVM error...

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've just swapped a Bold for a Torch. I'm trying to sync my hotmail email account to it. I go to the set-up wizard as per usual and I'm told to "move my email accounts to receive emails to my new device" It tells me to insert my password, which I do. Message pops up saying the password has been verified. Then that's it. It just then has the option of returning to setup options. I go to my Messages folder and its tells me that no message services has been configured and it all starts again. My Facebook messages are in there but no hotmail.
