Sep 9, 2011Last week I purchased the new Torch 9810, a couple of days of use the trackpad started malfunctioning and well...for the first time in many years I received a defective device, yesterday I managed to change it for a new one without any problems.
As soon as I got home, I did the device switch operation with my BB desktop software without any problems too, but today I noticed something was diferent, I don't have or find anywhere in my phone the OS 7 digital compass. I know it's no big deal, but it was a nice app and would really like to install it on my new BB. I have surfed among the web and apps world and all I find are compasses for purchase, and it came free in this BB device.

Sep 14, 2010I have a Blackberry Curve 8520, firstly. I simply wanted to transfer some pictures to my laptop, and then I see something about an update for the Desktop Manager. There also happened to be the update to version 5. ow silly me, I didn't make a back-up as I didn't know that this update would remove all my info. I assumed it was just the applications (which I can install again) but I realized I've lost all my BB contacts. (Of course I didn't back up that info either.What I want to know is because I've registered before, shouldn't my info still show up in my contacts' lists? Isn't there a way for me to restore my contacts without adding them all over again? And can't they still msg me?

Nov 29, 2011Last week I did a device software update, I am currently running OS 6.0, Bundle 2949. First of all, my Twitter and Facebook Apps were downgraded to versions from when I was still using my BB Bold. More annoyingly, I lost some languages on my device. I had Spanish, French, Italian, German, English and Dutch. Since the update I have Russian, Greek, Dutch and English (US and UK), but I cannot add or delete any of these through desktop manager.
I tried deleting and adding in the same update sequence. I tried deleting only, then I tried adding only, and every time I get an error saying the action (or update) "could not be validated due to unsatisfied dependencies." So then I tried deleting a regular app, thinking maybe there was an "unsatisfied dependency" in an app. Same error, and nothing happened. And the same again with a different app.

I used to have the keyboard lock function assigned to the left side convenience key. This was really essentail for me to have and now it is not available for me to assign when I try to assign something for the left side convenience key. I know the Tour has the option on the top of the phone to lock it but even when this is pushed, it will still unlock in my bag. How can I restore this option?

BB Torch :: Lost Device Password - Device 9810 Locked
Sep 12, 2012My daughter has bought today a new Torch 9810. She has entered a new device password. After a few hours she tried to enter her password, but she forgot her password.
After a read of some internet groups, the solution is simple, just type 10 times your password and the BB will restart. I know that all data will be removed, but that is no issue.
Unfortunately the BB will not restart after I retype for then times the wrong password After the reset it starting with a White screen, with a sort of document icon. Within this document icon, appear a lock and cross sign, beneath this icon there is a counter with is repeatedly showing from 0 till 100% and then start over again.
I've tried to disconnect the battery for at least 1 minute, Put in a different sim card, let it run for almost one hour, but nothing seems to work.

Mar 14, 2012I updated the firmware of my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1 yesterday. After the update, I noticed that I have lost all of my contacts on the phone, so I plugged it back in to the computer and went with "Restore from backup", which was dated just a few hours prior to updating the firmware.
After it finished restoring, my contacts were all back but half of my apps are missing. I tried redownloading from the App Store as well as syncing from the computer, but the data (game saves, etc) are still missing. How do I get them back?

BB Device Software :: Lost 3rd Party App Compatibility
Apr 6, 2010I have a BB Curve 8530 (Verizon Wireless). On March 22nd a device software upgrade was applied 5.0.0.508. That upgrade caused some of my 3rd party apps to have issues with some functionality in particular anything to do with "virtual serial ports". A prime example is the IntelliGolf app that had been working on perfectly prior to the upgrade. Once the upgrade was applied the application on the device was no longer able to sync any information with their Desktop application as it does not recognize that there is a USB connection. I raised the issue with the other software vendor and was told that there would need to be a RIM patch to address the backward compatibility issue. The other option would be for me to revert to a previous RIM device software version. I don't know where to find an acceptable "previous version" nor do I think it's advisable for me to address this issue without direction from RIM My question is this, will there be a patch to address this issue? If so, when? If not, what should I do get my applications working again?

Sep 27, 2011I recently had my Bold 9900 stolen/lost, although I have now purchased a replacement 9900 I want to try and track down my old one as it is not a cheap device. I still have all of the packaging of my first phone so therefore the IMEI / PIN etc. I have reported this to my provider (China Mobile) and I have a new account setup on my new device.I have sent a bbm request to my old phone hoping to get some contact but my joy, I am asking friends who have my old PIN as a bbm contact to try the new 'owner' as well. Is there any way I can find the mobile number of whoever is using my old phone so I can ring them? (I understand it may have been sold on but has only been 3 days since it was stolen/lost) or tracking the device? (I did not have any tracking software on the device at the time it was stolen).
