BB Bold :: Tracking/finding Number Of A Stolen/lost Device?
Sep 27, 2011
I recently had my Bold 9900 stolen/lost, although I have now purchased a replacement 9900 I want to try and track down my old one as it is not a cheap device. I still have all of the packaging of my first phone so therefore the IMEI / PIN etc. I have reported this to my provider (China Mobile) and I have a new account setup on my new device.I have sent a bbm request to my old phone hoping to get some contact but my joy, I am asking friends who have my old PIN as a bbm contact to try the new 'owner' as well. Is there any way I can find the mobile number of whoever is using my old phone so I can ring them? (I understand it may have been sold on but has only been 3 days since it was stolen/lost) or tracking the device? (I did not have any tracking software on the device at the time it was stolen).
Is it actually possible to track iPhone without internet connection? I mean, the iPhone which I am tracking has no internet connection... (Example, has been lost in a foreign country and the roaming data is not On) Anyone has an idea how to do the tracking?
I have lost my iPhone and was searching the internet on how to find it. I can track my phone and lodge a complaint in the police station but for tracking it I need an imei number. I looked in the devices panel and found out that I didn't have a backup of it. So is there any way of retrieving my IMEI number via iCloud backup?
I have been wondering why my Fedex tracking number provided by AT&T isn't working. Is there is problem here? I ordered almost as soon as preordering started, jamming Command+R until the "Coming Soon" icon disappeared from the Apple website. There was no change in the order status from AT&T for a while, until (on the 20th) the status suddenly says "shipped" on the 18th. Weird.
Desktop mgr 5.0.1.37.When I connect (via USB) the connection appears to be recognised - clock appears on BB and PC beeps. After a few minutes PC & BB icons appear on BB screen but no interconnecting arrows. When I try to sync there is no device and PIN number showing on Device Mgr so it doesn't sync. Then the Desktop Mgr greys out and appears to freeze - I then have to disconnect the BB to unfreeze.
Device manager shows two RIM virtual serial ports v2 Com 3 & Com 4. If I try to update the drivers it says most up to date are loaded although the drivers are dated 24 Nov 2008 and are version 2.2.0.3 and appear to be called RimSerial_AMD64.sys (I'm using Intel i7 processor).
Devices & Printers screen shows a RIM Composite Device icon. Windows in Win 7 Home Premium 64 bit.
Just recently figured out that if you get an e-mail with a tracking number for a package that if you hold your finger on the tracking number it comes up with a 'track shipment' option. However using this link takes you to the FedEx website.
I was just wondering if I can specify what website that link takes me to?
I'm just looking for a reliable app, preferably without a monthy charge, that will simply show me the location of my phone on a map. It doesn't have to be uber-accurate -- the closer the better obviously, but if I know its last-known location in a general sense (a mile or less), it's likely I'll remember where it could have been lost that day.I was looking at taptrace, and some others, but all the ones I've seen got mediocre reviews. iHound looks alright, but I don't like the whole monthly fee thing. Also, I'm not going to sign up for mobile me just to track my phone.
I have bought new i phone 4s and have deleted everything from old i phone 4. I did not make a note of imei number and do not have original box. How do I now find imei number so I can sell old phone 4?
I've recently had my iphone stolen, it was prepaid so he probably took the sim out. I am pretty sure I didn't have any applications as it was brand new is there a way to track the iphone any other way? Most suggestions I've had is no use because you need your phone infront of me which I physically cannot do to use applications. I have a serial number?
I've had my blackberry since August of 2010. I learnt as much as I could and there was still much more to learn! About a month ago my phone was stolen from my home. The police are working on tracking it but....IT'S BEEN A MONTH!
Recently I was made to understand that there is a number under the battery that can be used to track the black berry even if it is off. My question is: since I no longer have the BB in my possession is there a way for me to get that number?
I am wondering if RIM or the Carriers 'blacklist' stolen / lost PINs? The reason being I just purchased a Bold 9000 but I have a sneaky feeling that it is stolen. I want to know if I should even both trying to get a data plan if I can't get BIS and BBM to work.
can you activate a lost or stolen phone.I found a iphone in a wallmart parking lot and its for sprint i would love to activate it.i have already restored it to factory settings i just want to know how to activate it with my phone #.
iPhone gets stolen, thief takes out SIM card to prevent remote wipe (not sure that would even help), thief jailbreaks iPhone and accesses entire file system via SSH.I thought this was ironic, but would it help if people jailbreak their iPhones and change the root password to prevent a hacker from doing this first? My company is thinking of deploying iPhones and from all the articles I've read, the iPhone's security can be bypassed in comparison to the Blackberry just by having a paper clip. Not sure if anyone has ever given it too much thought but maybe we can start a discussion on how to protect the data on your iPhone in case it gets lost or stolen.Anyone else worried?
how or where to obtain the Wifi address from a iPhone/iPod/iPad if it's lost or stolen? I know about logging into the wireless router at home, but does Apple keep record of it?

Does any know how to get RIM to block the PIN on my Blackberry that was stolen? I've already contacted my service provider and they stopped the SIM card but as the phone is unlocked, the person that found it can stick any SIM into it and still use it. I need to know how to contact them to do this if possible.
