IPhone :: Way To Protect To 3GS Data When Phone Lost / Stolen?

iPhone gets stolen, thief takes out SIM card to prevent remote wipe (not sure that would even help), thief jailbreaks iPhone and accesses entire file system via SSH.I thought this was ironic, but would it help if people jailbreak their iPhones and change the root password to prevent a hacker from doing this first?My company is thinking of deploying iPhones and from all the articles I've read, the iPhone's security can be bypassed in comparison to the Blackberry just by having a paper clip.Not sure if anyone has ever given it too much thought but maybe we can start a discussion on how to protect the data on your iPhone in case it gets lost or stolen.Anyone else worried?

My iPhone4S was stolen yesterday and I wiped the data off the phone using my iPad. Unfortunately this wipe of data seems to have beed synced via iCloud to my PC and iPad and I have lost all calendar and contacts details. Is there a way for me to recover this data?

Blackberry has a remote 'Kill' command to erase all user data in case the device is lost or stolen. I have only seen articles referring to accessing a BES Admin screen, which I do not have.I use my own email server but I do go through the BES to get to it.Can I deploy the Remote Kill from my laptop or do I need to call Verizon or BES if my phone is lost or stolen?I have a lot of sensitive data on my device which I need on a daily basis.

I had a Nokia 5800 Xpress, and it was always locked using "Phone Auto Lock" due to having sensitive information contacts, sms, emails etc. as below

I'd recently went to a gathering and had my iPhone stolen. Unfortunately I didn't get around to starting an iCloud account so It's definitely not coming back (Fingers crossed though) I was hoping if there was some way of removing all my data to stop my thief from accessing it. I have a word passcode on it but didn't know whether or not someone could access it through iTunes.

i tried to download the new software for my Blackberry which resulted in my phone crashing and having to re-install everything. When i logged onto Blackberry protect to retrieve my contacts there was only backups from the new installation. Surely this defeats the object of having the protect application?

I updated the firmware of my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1 yesterday. After the update, I noticed that I have lost all of my contacts on the phone, so I plugged it back in to the computer and went with "Restore from backup", which was dated just a few hours prior to updating the firmware.
After it finished restoring, my contacts were all back but half of my apps are missing. I tried redownloading from the App Store as well as syncing from the computer, but the data (game saves, etc) are still missing. How do I get them back?

I have intalled BB Protect Application on my BlackBerry Gold 9700 5v and saved last data in its Backup which is available in BB Protect Website. Due to some reason I wiped all my Data from my Device and I reinstalled BB Protect Application when I open it for setup I couldnt find restore option. I recently had my Bold 9900 stolen/lost, although I have now purchased a replacement 9900 I want to try and track down my old one as it is not a cheap device. I still have all of the packaging of my first phone so therefore the IMEI / PIN etc. I have reported this to my provider (China Mobile) and I have a new account setup on my new device.I have sent a bbm request to my old phone hoping to get some contact but my joy, I am asking friends who have my old PIN as a bbm contact to try the new 'owner' as well. Is there any way I can find the mobile number of whoever is using my old phone so I can ring them? (I understand it may have been sold on but has only been 3 days since it was stolen/lost) or tracking the device? (I did not have any tracking software on the device at the time it was stolen).

I mada a backup from all my data on blackberry protect website, and then I wiped my device, after this tried to restore the data again it wont le me do this and it says my wireless service plan doesnot include blackberry protect or it says my data service plan does not include blackberry protect i checked with my service provider and everything is ok from their side, and I tried deferen t sim carrds and it says the same, I checked the online support it says Navigate to Options > Device > Advanced System Settings > Host Routing TablePress the Menu button and select Register Now.but nothing was done and it still gived me same message

My iPhone was just stolen a few hours ago. Unfortunately there was not yet a tracking app installed as it was brand new. I NEED to find a way to atleast see the location. I have already tried checking the recent calls, texting the phone, offering a reward, even contacting At&t - all to no avail.
So I am wondering if its possible AT ALL to Track this thing down.
