Oct 9, 2011I took a backup of my E 72 using PC suite on my laptop. and fomatted the memory card and took a hard reset of my phone as after software update the phn stopped alerting on receiving an sms. but now when I am restoring the data, i see a message everytime that "restore successful.phone will restart" but after restart there is no data restored from the back up. and also says that "due to insufficinet memory the back up file was saved on my laptop's desktop with the names - 1.) DEV and 2.) MMC".i need those messages as it has all my bank account details.i tried restoring only the messages from the backup file with extension "nbu." but all in vain.again it says "restore successful.phone will restart" but no messages are seen after the restart.
I have tried several times,restoring using ovi suite also but i get a message "something's gone wrong"

Dec 15, 2011I just bought new Black Berry Bold 9930, and all of may data already transferred from my old Black Berry 9000, such as contacts, BBM contacts, memo, etc. Before I backup the I've travelling to Singapore and I used local SIM card. And the device recognized the new SIM card inserted and asked me to confirm the Black Berry ID that was created before. But the password is invalid, I tried so many times and still password invalid, and then suggest to be created new Black Berry ID, and I did it. After that all of my data were wiped and I can't use it anymore. So, how can I restore all of my data such as contacts, BBM contacts, memo, etc?

Dec 11, 2010I did an upgrade today, followed instructions, did backup with all boxs ticked, after upgrade completed I did the retore action etc. But I have not got all contacts saved and do not have any of the previously uploaded applications. I need them urgently, but no one available at erickson help line. Also vodaphone phone line and service office are not able to help me my service is with them.How do I get this critical info back, as I urgently need to contact several people in my contact list, but can't without their numbers that are saved into my phone or wherever they get saved when entered.Have also done previous backups, but none seem to restore this info.

Oct 18, 2015Yesterday evening my Z5 had 0-1% battery left and I connected the charger. At the same time with connecting the phone turned itself off, I thought that the battery died at the exactly same moment.

In the morning I turned on the phone and wondered why the fingerprint sensor is not responding. I opened phone with pin and checked the fingerprint settings. Fingerprint lock was turned off and when I turned it back on I had to teach my fingerprints again.

Feb 23, 2010iPhone gets stolen, thief takes out SIM card to prevent remote wipe (not sure that would even help), thief jailbreaks iPhone and accesses entire file system via SSH.I thought this was ironic, but would it help if people jailbreak their iPhones and change the root password to prevent a hacker from doing this first?My company is thinking of deploying iPhones and from all the articles I've read, the iPhone's security can be bypassed in comparison to the Blackberry just by having a paper clip.Not sure if anyone has ever given it too much thought but maybe we can start a discussion on how to protect the data on your iPhone in case it gets lost or stolen.Anyone else worried?

Aug 25, 2015My quite new (3 weeks) S6 did a factory data reset on its own. It happened while I was driving for 2hrs on a highway, with the phone resting on the empty passenger seat, not touching the phone. Lost all data, all apps, all pics. Very frustrating. After 3 days of research (visiting Verizon store, calling Verizon, calling Samsung, internet research), the possible cause may the following:
About 2-3 hours before driving, the phone did a scheduled automatic update, which took more than 30 min to complete. This all happened in a signal-weak area. Tech support said, although the update completed, it may have had some flaws, and when the phone detects that, it may resort to a factory data reset to avoid greater functionality problems.
Unfortunately, the end result included functionality problems, most notably that the phone calendar only synched partially (!!) with my desktop Outlook calendar, and promptly I missed two important appointments.
When a scheduled update comes your way, make sure you backup all contacts, photos, data etc, before allowing an update to perform.

May 7, 2010My friend lost his blackberry 8900. He canceled his contract with TMobile so the phone was SOS. The phone was insured but since the contract was canceled they won't honor it. Is there anyway he can retrieve his contacts in the Desktop Manager? He backed it up all of the time Is the contacts in a file on the computer that he can read? thanks in advance. I looked in the loader back up IPD files and all I see is a lot of jibberish. But no contacts.

Oct 15, 2015I just switched to an android phone from an iPhone for the first time. I went to the att store where they transferred my contacts over to the S6. 2 days later I tried to install an ios emulator to download an app not available on android that I used to use. The emulator turned out to do nothing and I felt like I just installed malware so I look into restoring the phone to a previous point. To my surprise there is no option to do this but factory restore and then back up from your google account. I
do this thinking I'll be fine because I turned on the setting to back up my phone to the google account. I do the reset and discover that I only get one restore point and it doesn't mention from what time; just says "last used today". I do the restore even though its probably not far back enough to erase the damage the emulator download did and discover that I have lost all my contacts.
Whats the point of the backup if it doesn't backup the single most important thing: your contacts! Whats the point of backup if you can't restore to multiple points! Feeling really frustrated with this phone right now. Do I need to go back to ATT with my old iphone to get my contacts back again?

2) How can I get my contacts back? They are not in my google contacts.
3) Is there any way to turn off the sync order in Ericsson Sync so that the latest update does NOT overwrite the other. The trouble is that if I am to add all my lost contacts "by hand" in Ericsson Sync, and thereafter delete the few contacts still on my phone, then the deletion is the latest event - and that will overwrite my additions in Ericsson Sync... After it finished restoring, my contacts were all back but half of my apps are missing. I tried redownloading from the App Store as well as syncing from the computer, but the data (game saves, etc) are still missing. How do I get them back?

Nov 22, 2010Today I went to update my X10. While at work it wouldn't allow me to as it insisted I connected it to a computer. So at home I got the USB cabled hooked up to my Linux Laptop and then discovered it had to be a windows computer.Anyway, I got it hooked to a Windows computer and the update process began. I followed every instruction and set all tickboxes for backup.After unplugging this and plugging it back in and rebooting here and there, it finally reached the restore process.I left it restoring for a while. When I came back to it, it said something had crashed. I don't know what as I'd just woken from a nap.But, it seems all my applications are restored. Yet my gmail account & Facebook account have become disassociated from my phone and all my contacts no longer have any names or pictures. I opened the contacts/phone book and the list is completely empty. tried to import contacts but it says it cannot find any anywhere.
