I took a backup of my E 72 using PC suite on my laptop. and fomatted the memory card and took a hard reset of my phone as after software update the phn stopped alerting on receiving an sms. but now when I am restoring the data, i see a message everytime that "restore successful.phone will restart" but after restart there is no data restored from the back up. and also says that "due to insufficinet memory the back up file was saved on my laptop's desktop with the names - 1.) DEV and 2.) MMC".i need those messages as it has all my bank account details.i tried restoring only the messages from the backup file with extension "nbu." but all in vain.again it says "restore successful.phone will restart" but no messages are seen after the restart.
I have tried several times, restoring using ovi suite also but i get a message "something's gone wrong"
I just bought new Black Berry Bold 9930, and all of may data already transferred from my old Black Berry 9000, such as contacts, BBM contacts, memo, etc. Before I backup the I've travelling to Singapore and I used local SIM card. And the device recognized the new SIM card inserted and asked me to confirm the Black Berry ID that was created before. But the password is invalid, I tried so many times and still password invalid, and then suggest to be created new Black Berry ID, and I did it. After that all of my data were wiped and I can't use it anymore. So, how can I restore all of my data such as contacts, BBM contacts, memo, etc?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am in West Africa for a while and have a UK network which has worked fine. I upgraded my software when i connected to the device manager and installed. Since then i have been unable to get any emails. I usually use my WI-FI connection, which is till working but i cant get onto FaceBook or emails it just says no data connection available. I can send text messages and make calls but no emails!! its drove me mad so i reverted back to the old version from my Data backup and installed that, thinking this would help, but it still hasn't. I have never had this problem before. I tried to take out the battery and chip but nothing. (not sure what i was version i was updating but the phone says V5.0.0.592) if that means anything!! Thanks in advance to those clever people!

View 1 Replies View Relatedmy calendar in Outlook that wiped all entries. Today I have tried to sync my curve to put the curve calendar back on Outlook and it said there were just a few changes to make between the two making me think that the entries are still in Outlook somewhere but not showing. I then tried a oneway sync and although it appears to do it, nothing is showing in Outlook.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy husband and I bought Blackberry Curve 8530s last night. We had all our contacts in our blackberrys when we left the store, I was even assigning ring tones to certain people already. I downloaded blackberry for facebook later that night and all my contacts were suddenly gone. I've tried to manually put in contacts, click save, and then no contact shows up. There are no filters checked in the contacts so I know it's not that. Any other ideas?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI have backed up data via Desktop Manager for a Curve 8520 which has recently been stolen. I would like to import only the Contact List contained in that back up data from the stolen device to a new Curve 8520. However I do not see any method to do that other than to "Import Files" to the new Curve from the backup data via Desk Top Manager from PC. Is that possible or is that not the mechanism to accomplish this??

View 6 Replies View RelatedI had a Blackberry Curve 8130. It began to have issues last week, so I did a back-up of the data on it and tried to upgrade the software to see if that would fix it. After a little over 6 hours into the process, the status bar stoped moving on it. It was in the final stages of putting the information back onto my phone. I still have the.ipd file on my laptop, but I do not know how to get the information saved on that file back into my phone. I went today and bought a new Blackberry Bold and the store tried to access my contact information from my old phone to move them to my new phone, but they said they could not recover anything from it. Is there a way to get the information from the saved file back onto my old phone so that I can sync it to my computer and access the contacts information so that I can then add them to my new Blackberry?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy phone was charging the other night during a power failure and in the morning my contacts and BB contacts were gone. These contacts aren't lost as it's my gmail contact list - but I can't get them back on my phone. I've clicked all the buttons to sync, but no luck. I can't manually add a contact and see it either. In the contacts options, it says that I have 288 contacts associated with my gmail account, and when I manually add one, it goes up by another number. But - I can't see them anywhere. Also, I removed the email account and set it up again making sure to click the sync box, took out the battery and SIM card and put it back, and still nothing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI backed up my phone as I had not done it in a while. Then I synced the phone. I then tried to use my phone and noticed that all my numbers were gone, and they were replaced with contacts from my outlook. I tried to update it again but my contact details still did not show up.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI was connecting my Curve to my laptop to back up my data. During this process it wanted me to upgrade my desktop program and my handheld OS. Once I was finished with the backup and the upgrades and was able to disconnect, I had to rearrange my icons. During this process I noticed that all my SMS messages were not labled with a sender but just the phone number. Noticing this I quickly checked my contacts and there was about 50 out of 250 contacts listed. I have tried to restore from the back and this resulted in even less people listed in my contacts!
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been religiously doing auto-backup on to a remote hard drive. But now I cannot seem to access any of those files at all. It keeps saying I have no administrative permission to view the files. Even when copied to my desktop, I can't use them to restore. The issue that started this all is that I switched computers. And every time I sync, the desktop program wants to add or delete about 1200 past calendar items. I have been reticent to allow the sync to continue because I did not want to lose data, but today I said, "what the hell" and let it continue. It deleted everything from BOTH the handheld and computer prior to May, when I started using the new computer. So when I try to reinstall the older backup file to retrieve the lost data, now the program won't let me access the files I saved so religiously.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMade a very big mistake while syncing my Curve 8320 and lost ALL my contacts. I have more than one Blackberry connected onto BB desktop software and mind you that both phones have different contacts on them. I only backed up one of them prior to today and I had the option of syncing all my known contacts from my computer onto whatever phone that would be plugged in turned on. So basically I did not make a backup copy of my Curve 8320 and whatever contacts I have for my other BB has overwritten what was on it. Is there any way to recovery those lost contacts?!
View 1 Replies View RelatedI received an email message from Blackberry inviting me to upgrade my OS to 5.0.0.1, which I did wirelessly. At the end of the process, after the restart, I got a message that said "uncaught exception ....I pulled the battery and tried again a few times, but I kept getting the same message.I Goggled the error message and to my horror found hundreds of listing - most related to corruption errors! However, since my blackberry home screen appeared under the message warning, and it is supposedly a mission critical device and I need to work, I clicked ok and started to use my device again.
All seemed find until I noticed that some of my contacts were missing.Maybe about 10%. I determined that some of these missing contacts had been updated since my last back-up. Others had been on my BB for years.I decided to try and restore the address book from my last back-up.I launched my Desktop Manager 6.0.2 and tethered my Curve.First I backed up the "damaged contact list" as part of a full back up.All went well. Then I went to use a 2 week only back up file, that I made before the OS upgrade. But the address book field was dimmed. There were 4036 entries on the dimmed back up file. I had 4021 on my Curve, but many more than 15 were missing. Regardless, I couldn't restore because:
(Dimmed entries are data types that are read only . . . . )The only solutions to this problem I found via Google related to older OSes and devices and involved deleting service book entries which look nothing like the service book entries I found. Or, is simply a problem related to running a RIM application on a RIM device after an upgrade to one more "advanced" RIM OS from another RIM OS, at RIM's recommendation?
My contacts are gone completly from home screen, and another icon has taken it's place. This happened after deleting two applications I no longer needed and rebooting phone. I did not delete my contacts, but they are gone.
