My Blackberry Curve 8520 indicated that I must upgrade my bbm to a newer version before I could continue using it. I upgraded my bbm, but now all my contacts are gone! How can I get them back? I'm on Vodacom in South Africa
Okay, so my brother got the new BlackBerry Storm and gave me his old BlackBerry Curve 8520 and I can't get the BlackBerry Messenger to work. I can't add contacts on it, and when people try to add me I don't get a notification. My web browser also doesn't work, even though I'm connected to a wireless internet.
Off topic, but how do I send stuff from my computer to my BB, by bluetooth, or is there a wire?
I have a Blackberry Curve 8520, firstly. I simply wanted to transfer some pictures to my laptop, and then I see something about an update for the Desktop Manager. There also happened to be the update to version 5.Now silly me, I didn't make a back-up as I didn't know that this update would remove all my info.... I assumed it was just the applications (which I can install again) but I realized I've lost all my BB contacts. (Of course I didn't back up that info either.. geez...)What I want to know is because I've registered before, shouldn't my info still show up in my contacts' lists? Isn't there a way for me to restore my contacts without adding them all over again?

I've had my 8520 for quite a while now and only just started trying to use BBM although people don't recieve my requests and I don;t receive theres. I have internet, both WiFi and pay monthly. So I was wondering if I have to set it up somehow?
I recently got a blackberry curve 8520 contracted with virgin media, with my package I get free BBM/ email services free. However both services haven't worked in 4 weeks. I cannot connect to any servers and error code (65), whatever it means, pops up every time I try to log into Windows Live Messenger. I have re-sent registration messages, as instructed by the troubleshooting manual, which have been successful each time.
im facing a problem with my blackberry curve 8520. i upgraded yesterday my device software to v.5 and it worked well then i wanted to update the blackberry messenger to version 5, after i did so the blackberry messenger got deleted and i cant find it i tried many ways to install it its not working! i tried to downgrade the device to earlier version it doesnt want to either.
I'm not onto my second BB8520 and this on T-mobile UK contract. Everything is fab, however, BB Messenger constantly displays 1 new message icon...There definitely isn't. Tried hard reset 4 times with no luck. Been like this for 4 days and it really irritating plus with the red notification light flashing all the time it can't be doing my battery much good either!
Is anyone else having the same problem? And how can I solve this? I really don't want to have to either wipe my phone or remove BBM!
I have recently brought a blackberry Curve 8520, one of the main reasons I brought it was because of bbm most of my friends have it and have requested me to add them, only when I click onto their pending request it does not have an accept button - but all my friends said it should. I have rebooted my phone a lot and I have reinstalled bbm at least twice. How I can sort this out?
I'm interested in getting the Blackberry Curve 8520. I have a vodafone contract with unlimited texts and 300 minutes each month. Would this enable me to use blackberry messenger, or do you need to have internet included in your contract to use it?
I downloaded Windows Live Messanger through App World and it said that it was succesfully installed. However there is no icon for it in my downloads or applications and i don't know how to access it, other downloads are working just not WLM.
I have a Blackberry Curve 8310.I tried to follow the instructions on a similar post and go to my address book to change the contact directions, However I lost my icon for the Address Book for some reason.how to make everything operable again?
I just got a new phone because I lost my old one and I've been trying to restore my bb messenger contacts through the email option which I had done before with other blackberrys and had worked perfectly. This time, when I click on the option to restore it says that they have to send an email to verify that my email account is valid, I click ok and then it says that my email account (which is working perfectly on the phone) is invalid and they were unable to send a verification email and to check if the account is valid and try again later. I have been doing this for two days and nothing has changed.
I back up my BB regularly but seem to have lost the diary info for the last year.I want to look at the info but don't want to restore a backup to my phone because I will lose current information. Is there a way to view backup data on my PC?
I installed a hybrid OS and everything is working fine! But today I saw something funny on the street that I wanted to record. But when I pulled out my phone I couldn't find my video recorder. sucks! So I've looked in all the folders and its no where to be found. I don't normally record videos but I'm baffled. Does anyone know how I can re install it without having to downgrade my OS? The OS I have is 184.108.40.2062 on my Curve 8530.
I have a blackberry 8520 curve, my music and pictures have disappeared, when I take pictures now they are not showing up on the phone. I still have the same ringtone and text message alert message. I took out the memory card and put it back in and it's still the same. When I put in the data cable to view online I am getting a checked arrow next to the blackberry and cant access anything.
I've got a problem with losing the audio during calls - I can no longer hear the other person although they can still hear me. I have to end the call and redial to recover from this.I think this happens when I receive a message during a call - I get a lot of messages as the phone is linked to several email accounts, social networks, etc.
I am using 8520 curve I have set left side to to lock the keypad. When I updated the phone I lost the shortcut for locking the keypad. When I tried setting it up from option/screen/keyboard, I could not find option to set left side key to shortcut.
I have backed up data via Desktop Manager for a Curve 8520 which has recently been stolen. I would like to import only the Contact List contained in that back up data from the stolen device to a new Curve 8520. However I do not see any method to do that other than to "Import Files" to the new Curve from the backup data via Desk Top Manager from PC. Is that possible or is that not the mechanism to accomplish this??
