I am using 8520 curve I have set left side to to lock the keypad. When I updated the phone I lost the shortcut for locking the keypad. When I tried setting it up from option/screen/keyboard, I could not find option to set left side key to shortcut.

I recently upgraded my BB to the newest software available 5.0.0.1030, and in doing so lost a little bit of functionality. Mainly, I used the "Left" Shortcut Key on my Curve to "lock" the keypad. Also, when I wanted to unlock the keypad, I could hit any key on the keyboard, then hit star and send to unlock it.
Since the update, I've noticed that there's no way to bind the left shortcut key to locking the keyboard - it doesn't exist anymore. While I can still lock it by pushing and holding A, the left-shortcut-button was instant.
Next, I also notice that to unlock it, I now have to push the mute button the top of the phone. Since my phone is placed in my pocket, I've actually (several times over the last week) inadvertently hit the mute button by mistake, releasing the keypad and actually pocket dialing someone!
I tried to revert to the old operating system using my BB desktop software, which is the 5.0.0.654, but the keypad lock/unlock seems to remain unchanged.
Is there a way to make it look like the way I opened it up from the box again?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have an old Curve 8520 which I only just recently updated to OS 5. Like the title says, my device "locks up" after a while of not pressing any buttons, even when I'm using the scroll pad. The thing is, I would still be able to scroll around the screen with the scroll pad but will not be able to select anything or type any letters. The phone doesn't totally freeze though as I can "unlock" it by pressing and holding the power button for about a second in which case it goes to the home screen and interrupts whatever I was doing.
I dust discovered pressing and holding ANY button "unlocks" the phone.
when I unlock my phone I have to press the * key and the green cann button, I was wondering if there's a way to change it so I can press the mute button ontop of my phone to lock and unlock it, I know it sounds weird but I'm used to doing it that way on my old phones.

View 4 Replies View RelatedToday I noticed that when I hit the mute button on the top of my phone that it no longer takes me to my media folder. I thought the button may have broken somehow, however, after locking my phone I hit the button and it unlocked it just fine. So apparently its not broken, it just up and quit taking me to my media.Is there a way to set the mute button as a shortcut again so I don't have to go through the menu button to get to my music, pics etc?

She's using the 'A' button to lock the keypad at which point the screen goes off (as I believe it should) and then after a minute or so, it unlocks itself and the screen comes back on.

1. I wanted to make E52 work like s40 phone in terms of functions arrangement and, long story short, now Menu button is under middle navigation button (Menu is the first icon in the icon shortcuts on the desktop). Under left function key I have Profiles. Because of that I can't lock the keypad the way it was designed which is left_function_key-right_function_key. I know that I can lock it by using on/off button but that is not very convenient.Is there any way to define other keypad locking sequence? For example like the old phones "Menu" + "*" ?
2. Second problem concerns calendar. I tried to synchronize it with Outlook via OVI and something went wrong. Right now I have many entries doubled and some of them finish in 2030. The option to delete before date in E52 does not work. How can I clear the whole calendar?

My "lock keypad" button on the top left of my device has been broken for a while so I've gotten used to locking the keyboard by holding down the * key and unlocking it by hitting * and Send. The problem is that now, when I hold down the * key the keyboard locks but hitting * and Send fails to unlock my device!

View 10 Replies View RelatedI have a BB 8530 on MetroPCS (CDMA) network. I saw thier was some updates for BB protect and a bunch of other apps so i updated them. After the reboot, it asked me for my keypad lock pass and upon entering it, it would not accept it. I know that what i am entering is correct as i entered it prior to the reboot.
i have tried diffrent variations of it with CAPs and symbols corresponding to the keys i KNOW are my pass but still no use. I am on 9/10.
I have logged in to my BB Protect online and tried to change the pass from thier but it keeps saying the current password is wrong which is impossible. Is there some deafult password it reverted to that i can try. I have tried everything.
Does anyone know when the OFFICIAL 5.0 update for tmobile comes out, i see the leaked versions online but I don't want to risk it. Right now I'm running.
