just ungraded my 8520 from v4.6 to 5..all works OK, except i can not see now how to lock keypad, the little padlock has dissapeared and can not be found anyware, how to unlock *+send key, but not how to lock it now?

View 8 Replies View RelatedMy phone keeps emailing and calling random people from my contacts, because I am carrying it in my back pocket. The phone is very easily unlocked accidentally as the unlock button sits on top of it, sticking out of the holster. I have even tried placing it upward down into the holster but it still easily unlocks through the holster.
What is the most efficient way to keep the the device locked for back pocket storage? I could set up a password, but as the number of bad password inputs is obviously limited, I also do not want to have accidental password input.
Is there a way to deactivate the unlock button on top and use a key combination instead? Or anything else?
I just upgraded OS5 on my 8520 but after upgrading I can't see keypad lock option anywhere. Before there was keypad lock icon in menu but its just vanished now and I even checked all the folders its nowhere. How can I get it back?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have recently purchased a pink blackberry curve 9360 and i have forgotten my keyboard lock password!! i am sure i typed my password in correcly but it wont work!! how to get more password tries,i am on my last try and i dont want all my pictures deleted!! i have my olympic pictures on there and i couldnt possibly get rid of them! i dont think i have an problem if anything else had to be wiped!! if someone could tell me what exactly is wiped on it if my last password attempt fails and wonder if if my micro sd card is wiped too!! is there a way of recieving my password through blackberry somehow!! my phone is insured if that makes any difference!

I have tried to unlock it using the lock key and also the * key but both dont work. I have also tried doing a hard reboot ( removing the battery and then turning on the phone. This has not worked either. Is there anywya to bypass the keypad lock and also can the keypad lock be deactivated.

She's using the 'A' button to lock the keypad at which point the screen goes off (as I believe it should) and then after a minute or so, it unlocks itself and the screen comes back on.
