I just upgraded my blackberry curve 8520 smartphone to the newest software upgrade. Now when I lock the keypad I need to press the mute button to unlock it. My problem is, when I put the phone in my holster it always unlocks itself by rubbing the mute button in my holster. Is there any way to change the button to unlock the keypad?

My "lock keypad" button on the top left of my device has been broken for a while so I've gotten used to locking the keyboard by holding down the * key and unlocking it by hitting * and Send. The problem is that now, when I hold down the * key the keyboard locks but hitting * and Send fails to unlock my device!

I have tried to unlock it using the lock key and also the * key but both dont work. I have also tried doing a hard reboot ( removing the battery and then turning on the phone. She's using the 'A' button to lock the keypad at which point the screen goes off (as I believe it should) and then after a minute or so, it unlocks itself and the screen comes back on.

I lock my bb my pressing the top left keypad lock button but when I press it again to unlock it it won't unlock!! The only way to unlock is to take the battery out and put it back in! It only started doin this yesterday.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI have a 6300 and when I lock the keypad - pressing joystick then * It locks ok but if it remains locked for a while unlocking it takes a few attempts.It's as if the joystick button needs to be pressed a few times.It is on power saver and sleep mode and when I hit the joystick button there is a darkened screen and I can make out the instruction to hit * but hitting * doesn't unlock it.I then have to hit the joystick button a few times till a brightly lit up screen appears before I can hit * and unlock it.
