when I unlock my phone I have to press the * key and the green cann button, I was wondering if there's a way to change it so I can press the mute button ontop of my phone to lock and unlock it, I know it sounds weird but I'm used to doing it that way on my old phones.
View 2 RepliesI have an old Curve 8520 which I only just recently updated to OS 5. Like the title says, my device "locks up" after a while of not pressing any buttons, even when I'm using the scroll pad. The thing is, I would still be able to scroll around the screen with the scroll pad but will not be able to select anything or type any letters. The phone doesn't totally freeze though as I can "unlock" it by pressing and holding the power button for about a second in which case it goes to the home screen and interrupts whatever I was doing.
I dust discovered pressing and holding ANY button "unlocks" the phone.
I am using 8520 curve I have set left side to to lock the keypad. When I updated the phone I lost the shortcut for locking the keypad. When I tried setting it up from option/screen/keyboard, I could not find option to set left side key to shortcut.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I've had my Blackberry Curve 8520 since around October 2010 so my warranty has run out a long time ago. Basically, the problem is that every single button on the phone does not work. When I say every single button I mean keyboard, the green and red phone button, the back button, the menu button, the audio, camera and side buttons, the music control buttons, literally just every single button. I doubt it is water damage because this happened back in March or so and I just gave up trying to fix it and I tried it again today to see if maybe it finally got dry after a few months. Is it possible for the buttons to just stop working? Before all the buttons broke, I had problems with the O button. It was sometimes working and sometimes not working, then every button just broke. Also when all the buttons were broken, I was sometimes able to just button spam and it would work for a few seconds then just not work again.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo, today I pulled out my phone and the screen was black. I took out the battery, put it back in and the LED just kept blinking. I pulled the battery out again and left it for a bit. It turned on, when it turned on my phone was locked. I couldn't press any buttons. No matter what it was, the four buttons on the top row, the trackpad or any of the keys weren't working. My phone still turns on normally but none of the buttons work.

I had my phone in my pocket today for about 30 minutes and when I went to take it out none of the buttons were responsive the only thing that worked was the track pad. View 10 Replies View RelatedI had to get a new bb becuase my old one messed up. With my previous plan I did not need the AT&T bb datapackage... I don't need one now. However, with the new phone, AT&T automatically added the BB dataplan. I cant get rid of it, and i dont want to get rid of the phone.
Heres what I did: I put my sim in another non-BB phone, call AT&T and deleted my dataplan. It worked. I then put my sim back into my BB, and a few mins later got a txt msg saying AT&T has added the BB data onto my phone. aaahhh! So, how do I change the IMEI number to my old non-BB phone, so that AT&T can't tell i'm using my BB?
i want my third party apps to use Google maps instead of BBMaps as BBMaps doesnt work.. i have a Curve 8520 therefore i have no GPS only GPRS. Apps that rely on finding your loaction will not work because BBMaps cannot find my location so i would like to change the default to Google maps but it doesnt appear in the drop-down list.

I think, I know a lot of you can relate because this seems to be a very popular problem...Bout a week ago my bb randomly started messin me about, first the 'L' key along with the 'alt' key and then also the 'A' key, they were stuttering, typing on there own, sometimes wouldn't work at all, they would even pop up when I typed a different key! also there would be times were my phone would freeze and I'd have to hold down a button for roughly 10 seconds to get a response, also all buttons including mute, side buttons, keypad etc.. would stop working all together, only track bar would work but I could only scroll, I also cannot use my phone whilst chargers in, on rare occasions my phone fixes itself, then brakes around 5-10 mins later

View 11 Replies View RelatedI have the Curve 8520 and I use the In The Know theme with the bottom sliding dock. I uninstalled Facebook from my BB but for some reason only calendar appointments that have the "sent with Facebook" at the top show up on my theme's calendar home area.
I want facebook completely GONE from my black berry but there's no calendar option that lets me get rid of the "Facebook calendar" or at least change it so when I make a new appointment it defaults to starting with my email instead of stupid facebook.
Is it feasible/easy to replace a (scratched) screen cover on a Curve 8520? What is the best place to get them?

I was really impressed with the phone at such a cheap price since I am a teen, the 8520 is perfect for me. But I downloaded a few apps which I can use at home when theres wifi but i cannot use the Twitter, Facebook, UberTwitter apps when not at home (No wifi). Does anyone have the same problems? When i try to log in or connect without Wifi, It does not connect. And on Ubertwitter, The app keeps running but it doesnt connect to gprs/wap. Anyone have the same problems or know how to change the settings so that i can use the apps with GPRS/WAP Please give me your suggestions and/or solutions/help.
