Was wondering if anyone else had this problem and how they fixed it. I had my phone in my pocket today for about 30 minutes and when I went to take it out none of the buttons were responsive the only thing that worked was the track pad. I tried pulling the battery and restarting but still the same outcome only the trackpad was functional. I have the blackberry 8530.

Then I downloaded a game and a theme.. about 30 mins after the theme it started not to work.The only thing I can do is take a picture.The track ball wont move at all. Left or right. It will take a picture.Is there anything I can do? Please help me if you can.I cant even dial my phone. when i type a name in it wont let me scrool down to the number I need.is there a way to dete the stuff? Or fix the trackball?

Did a battery pull fix your issue?: No Apps installed and their version if possible. (Go to Settings, then Options, then applications): None BT device model/version (you will have to look at the BT device): None Scroll pad works on and off, will not work on some menus. E key will work sometimes, usualt types an upper case E and not a lower case, will not type 2 E's in a row. Works ok when typing a 2. There were some other buttons giving issues a while ago and then it all went away and now this just started again out of nowhere. I tried backing up / wiping the phone, upgraded to the latest software and it is still giving me issues. The phone has never been exposed to any sort of moisture, I don't even use it in the rain.Another issue, possibly related, possibly not is that I get 1 vertical line and 1 horizontal line in my photos I take. This started out happening sometimes and not other times but now it is constant.
So I've had my Blackberry Curve 8520 since around October 2010 so my warranty has run out a long time ago. Basically, the problem is that every single button on the phone does not work. When I say every single button I mean keyboard, the green and red phone button, the back button, the menu button, the audio, camera and side buttons, the music control buttons, literally just every single button. I doubt it is water damage because this happened back in March or so and I just gave up trying to fix it and I tried it again today to see if maybe it finally got dry after a few months. Is it possible for the buttons to just stop working? Before all the buttons broke, I had problems with the O button. It was sometimes working and sometimes not working, then every button just broke. Also when all the buttons were broken, I was sometimes able to just button spam and it would work for a few seconds then just not work again.

I pulled the battery out again and left it for a bit. It turned on, when it turned on my phone was locked. I couldn't press any buttons. No matter what it was, the four buttons on the top row, the trackpad or any of the keys weren't working. My phone still turns on normally but none of the buttons work.

The problem I am now having is that when I press the trackpad to open a link online nothing happens. I have to open the menu and click on Open Link. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 8520 that's brand new. However, I notice when I zoom the camera and take a picture, the camera doesn't actually zoom in. All it does is resize the image so that it gets smaller the more it says the zoom number. For example, If I take a picture at 1x zoom, it will be 1024x768 pixels on my computer screen. However, if I zoom in 3x, it makes the picture much smaller (like 600x800) and more focused (and pixelated) on the center of the subject of the picture.
So that on the tiny Blackberry screen, the picture appears bigger when resized down a lot. When has digital zoom meant resizing the image to fool the user into thinking that it is zoomed only when viewing it on the blackberry screen? When I zoom in, it should keep the picture the same size! What a gip for a relatively high quality phone camera too.
After doing a few battery pulls its still not working.I've done some searching now for about an hour and comming up empty handed. I have a friend with an 8520 Curve from I-Wireless. After a couple days of using it his trackpad stopped. Now to me from reading it seem that most problems lie with the 8520 series and also seems that its a software issue as a batt pull will fix it for abit. Will updating to os 5.0 beta fix this problem or does the problem lie elsewhere?

On my tour it connects and everything works fine. On my curve it constantly is looking for a connection and it wont follow me. But now there's a new problem: email. Neither of my email addresses work (@*.blackberry.net or my personal email) and anytime I try to send something, a red X immediately appears next to it.
is the 8520 housings are compatible with the 8530? I know the answer is probably yes because there's no differences at all in the phone not like the 83XX series. Also, mine is Grey OEM by Telus. I just don't know what colour i'll customize it, any Idea? I like black and white just like my old Tour, but there's white 8520 so it would be less unique

I work in an office setting.There is no possible way it could have been near water.I just want to know how I can fix the keyboard myself. Verizon will not replace it if there is a detection of moisture and I have over a year before I can upgrade to a new phone.

All of the people in his address book have "classic ringer" as their custom ring tone along with the volume set about midway like its some kind of default setting. I have tried changing the profiles/ringtones and creating new ones (with different tones) this does not change the ringer for those 80+ people. In the Set Contact Alert menu there are only 3 people with a custom tone showing.The Classic Ring is not loud enough for him to hear and no matter how I try to change the default ringer it does not change the ring for the contact list.I've done a battery pull, no change.Updated it to newest OS.Contact list was imported from a Storm 2(he likes having actual buttons to push).
Am I missing something or 1) shouldn't all those people show up in the Set Contact Alert Menu, if there is a custom tone set up or 2) shouldn't their default change if I change the default for the phone.I haven't checked all of them, but did check at least 10 and regardless of what I do they're still the same. Ringer shows Classic all other options say active profile.Is there any way I can change their default ringer without having to give each one a custom ring--too time consuming?
I had a 8330 (for 2 months) that would reboot itself constantly. Does not do it anymore 'cause I returned it for a 8530. The 8530 that I've had since Jan 01 is better, it only does it now and then when it is tethered to my pc.. Rendering it just about useless for my business activities. US Cellular is at a loss. Should I accept this defect as part of the BB experience?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the new OS when I plugged my phone to the computer... it sounded like a good idea to upgrade everything but I do not like how the UNlock function is only through the mute button now. I mean, if I wanted to just lock/unlock my phone that way with the push of only one button, I could use the standby (mute) button and press on it again to unlock it before. I really liked the previous version where you had to take the extra step of pushing two buttons (A and Send) to unlock it. Because I unlock my phone by accident a lot when it's in my purse and I reach for something and accidentally press the top button (mute button). Any ideas if Blackberry is planning on a new OS version soon that would restore the old locking/unlocking system? I do not necessarily want to downgrade to a previous OS version but I might have to as the "easy" one-button only unlocking option is not working for me.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI updated my phone the other day with the v5.0.0.734 OS. It wiped out everything. I had to go back and restore my contacts, reload ringtones and apps, etc. Got everything back the way it was now.
I have three email accounts synced to it. All are active, Wi-fi on, network on. New mail isn't showing up on my handset, only from my gmail account, the hotmails aren't showing up. Used to be you could look in the folder for each email account and see what emails were there, then there was one folder that showed all of them. What am I missing?

I'm gettin sick n tired of this trackball on the 8330, I recently had to fix it cause it would only go up... so onto a new Blackberry! Can anyone give me some input about the 8530? I hear the camera has no flash , is that true? How is that supposed to be an upgrade!? Anything else I should know that's different between the two, aside from the obvious?

But when i check my email for yahoo on my laptop, it still shows up on my BB and doesnt delete unless I personally delete it.
