I've had the Curve 8530 for a few weeks now. Up until yesterday the trackpad was working correctly. The problem I am now having is that when I press the trackpad to open a link online nothing happens. I have to open the menu and click on Open Link. The trackpad works correctly in all other places except opening a link online. Is there a trackpad setting that I may have turned off by mistake?
View 12 RepliesAfter doing a few battery pulls its still not working.I've done some searching now for about an hour and comming up empty handed. I have a friend with an 8520 Curve from I-Wireless. After a couple days of using it his trackpad stopped. Now to me from reading it seem that most problems lie with the 8520 series and also seems that its a software issue as a batt pull will fix it for abit. Will updating to os 5.0 beta fix this problem or does the problem lie elsewhere?

hi just recently, the letter "a" on my 8520 wont respond and sometimes my trackpad will freeze on me. and if i leave any of my keys untouched for more than 20 seconds i would have to press down on a key to get a response from the phone. im running a .681 but ive only heard good things from it. any suggestions/ideas to whats causing the problem ?
View 9 Replies View RelatedThe letter key "L" will not work when pressed, and seems like there is some sort of delay with that letter. Sometimes when it is pressed, it does compute the letter but multiple time and with about a 5 second delay. Most of the time it won't work at all.Now, the trackpad also does not work right. It will scroll up ,down,left, and right at home screen, but will not do any of that in the BB menu or apps like Facebook. I can use it properly in the viewing of scent calls and viewing of recent texts. But once I open a text I cannot scroll again.There is a way around all that, if I hold down the alt key I can scroll again, but of course my letter al is not working.

So I tried to upgrade my OS from 4 to 5. It was successful but I wasn't able to scroll down to press the OK button. After a couple of hours trying to scroll down, I pressed the OK button. But my trackpad and keyboard is not functioning well because when I pressed the home button my BB is not showing the home screen, instead it shows me my phonebook.

View 2 Replies View RelatedMy trackpad can still move right, left, up and down. However, the press function is no longer working as well as the entire keypad. The phone is working normally, I can receive text, calls, bbms, etc. However, I cannot just view and answer. I tried to update my OS, put a paper over the battery to tighten, I have removed the battery pack and replace a million times, tried to re-charge, removed sim and memory card and re-place but none of these tricks seem to work. I am hesitant to open it up because it will void the warranty.

I had my phone in my pocket today for about 30 minutes and when I went to take it out none of the buttons were responsive the only thing that worked was the track pad. View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a Curve 8520 that's brand new. However, I notice when I zoom the camera and take a picture, the camera doesn't actually zoom in. All it does is resize the image so that it gets smaller the more it says the zoom number. For example, If I take a picture at 1x zoom, it will be 1024x768 pixels on my computer screen. However, if I zoom in 3x, it makes the picture much smaller (like 600x800) and more focused (and pixelated) on the center of the subject of the picture.
So that on the tiny Blackberry screen, the picture appears bigger when resized down a lot. When has digital zoom meant resizing the image to fool the user into thinking that it is zoomed only when viewing it on the blackberry screen? When I zoom in, it should keep the picture the same size! What a gip for a relatively high quality phone camera too.
I just got the 8350 curve 3 days ago.. Now my Track ball wont work at all.Today I did drop it but it was working just fine. Then I downloaded a game and a theme.. about 30 mins after the theme it started not to work.The only thing I can do is take a picture.The track ball wont move at all. Left or right. It will take a picture.Is there anything I can do? Please help me if you can.I cant even dial my phone. when i type a name in it wont let me scrool down to the number I need.is there a way to dete the stuff? Or fix the trackball?

On my tour it connects and everything works fine. On my curve it constantly is looking for a connection and it wont follow me. I have gps set location on under options and did everything I think i need to get it to work.

But now there's a new problem: email. Neither of my email addresses work (@*.blackberry.net or my personal email) and anytime I try to send something, a red X immediately appears next to it.
is the 8520 housings are compatible with the 8530? I know the answer is probably yes because there's no differences at all in the phone not like the 83XX series. Also, mine is Grey OEM by Telus. I just don't know what colour i'll customize it, any Idea? I like black and white just like my old Tour, but there's white 8520 so it would be less unique
View 6 Replies View RelatedFor some reason, the A/Lock key and trackpad on my Curve 8530 are acting weird. It's as if I accidentally touched some series of keys that has now cause those two things to malfunction.The A/lock key isn't working at all. So I literally cannot type the letter A. As for the trackpad, it works fine on the home screen, but when I go into Menu, the trackpad will not scroll to the various applications/folders unless I hold the shift key while I scroll. If I pull up an application like Facebook, the scroll key doesn't work at all. But if I go into my email, I am able to scroll through the list of message and can scroll within individual messages themselves.I thought that if I completely wiped my BB and went back to factory settings that might restore things, but since my A key doesn't work, I can't type the word "blackberry" in order to confirm the wipe.

They use to but now when I go to like you tube, or nothingtoxic.com, or even my video recordings it won't play it says an error has occurred media attempt failed. Then the home screen pops up with Unlock, Emergency and Cancel screen like normal (because I have a password) but then the track pad and none of the buttons work so I am stuck on that page with no way to get out. I've tried plugging it in to the charger and I've tried plugging it in to my desktop manager but seems to work?

All of the people in his address book have "classic ringer" as their custom ring tone along with the volume set about midway like its some kind of default setting. I have tried changing the profiles/ringtones and creating new ones (with different tones) this does not change the ringer for those 80+ people. In the Set Contact Alert menu there are only 3 people with a custom tone showing.The Classic Ring is not loud enough for him to hear and no matter how I try to change the default ringer it does not change the ring for the contact list.I've done a battery pull, no change.Updated it to newest OS.Contact list was imported from a Storm 2(he likes having actual buttons to push).
Am I missing something or 1) shouldn't all those people show up in the Set Contact Alert Menu, if there is a custom tone set up or 2) shouldn't their default change if I change the default for the phone.I haven't checked all of them, but did check at least 10 and regardless of what I do they're still the same. Ringer shows Classic all other options say active profile.Is there any way I can change their default ringer without having to give each one a custom ring--too time consuming?
I had a 8330 (for 2 months) that would reboot itself constantly. Does not do it anymore 'cause I returned it for a 8530. The 8530 that I've had since Jan 01 is better, it only does it now and then when it is tethered to my pc.. Rendering it just about useless for my business activities. US Cellular is at a loss. Should I accept this defect as part of the BB experience?
