Anyone else having Yahoo sync issues on their device? It seems like the last week when I delete messages from my Yahoo account that change does not sync with my 8530. However messages send and receive on the device.
View 14 RepliesOk it seems since yesterday my 8530 has not been getting any emails from yahoo. Anyone have this problem? Anyone know of a possible cause and solution? not sure what the deal is. I have rebooted it a time or two and even hit reconcile and nothing. I sent myself an email from my phone and it went through but none others.
View 6 Replies View RelatedMy husband got a curve 8530 the other day. All of the people in his address book have "classic ringer" as their custom ring tone along with the volume set about midway like its some kind of default setting. I have tried changing the profiles/ringtones and creating new ones (with different tones) this does not change the ringer for those 80+ people. In the Set Contact Alert menu there are only 3 people with a custom tone showing.The Classic Ring is not loud enough for him to hear and no matter how I try to change the default ringer it does not change the ring for the contact list.I've done a battery pull, no change.Updated it to newest OS.Contact list was imported from a Storm 2(he likes having actual buttons to push).
Am I missing something or 1) shouldn't all those people show up in the Set Contact Alert Menu, if there is a custom tone set up or 2) shouldn't their default change if I change the default for the phone.I haven't checked all of them, but did check at least 10 and regardless of what I do they're still the same. Ringer shows Classic all other options say active profile.Is there any way I can change their default ringer without having to give each one a custom ring--too time consuming?
my Yahoo Mail icon decided to go missing (again) after I did a battery pull. Normally, I can resend service books once or twice and it'll pop back up. This time, however, no such luck. I've resent services books (around 20 times or more). I've deleted service books all together and then resent them. I've deleted the email all together and readded it. I've tried with another Yahoo address. Nothing is able to bring back my beloved icon. Does anyone else have any ideas as to how to bring it back? I really hate the mail icon with the little globe and I'm pretty sure I'd do whatever it takes to get my Yahoo icon back.

I'm trying to set up email but atm its only giving me the option for setting up work email account with a BB enterprise server - I just want to set up a normal email account using my normal hotmail account but i cant get any further along as it asks for my enterprise activation password - which i obviously dont have?
Also - a few friend have gien me their pin so i can add them on BBM, i type the pin and it says contact pending but the person/s im trying to add get no notification that i'm trying to add them - we try it the other way with me giving them my pin and get the same result WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?
I recently did the upgrade on my bb cuve 8530 for vzw to v5.0.0.508 and i noticed that my yahoo mail icon is no where to be found. i've deleted my email account and set it up again and still no icon. any suggestions on how to get it back?

View 10 Replies View RelatedI had to get a new bb becuase my old one messed up. With my previous plan I did not need the AT&T bb datapackage... I don't need one now. However, with the new phone, AT&T automatically added the BB dataplan. I cant get rid of it, and i dont want to get rid of the phone.
Heres what I did: I put my sim in another non-BB phone, call AT&T and deleted my dataplan. It worked. I then put my sim back into my BB, and a few mins later got a txt msg saying AT&T has added the BB data onto my phone. aaahhh! So, how do I change the IMEI number to my old non-BB phone, so that AT&T can't tell i'm using my BB?
I brought my bb off ebay and the seller never took his email off i have tried to change it and it won't let me, I have tried contacting the seller to ask him but no joy. please help

I was really impressed with the phone at such a cheap price since I am a teen, the 8520 is perfect for me. But I downloaded a few apps which I can use at home when theres wifi but i cannot use the Twitter, Facebook, UberTwitter apps when not at home (No wifi). Does anyone have the same problems? When i try to log in or connect without Wifi, It does not connect. And on Ubertwitter, The app keeps running but it doesnt connect to gprs/wap. Anyone have the same problems or know how to change the settings so that i can use the apps with GPRS/WAP Please give me your suggestions and/or solutions/help.

Do the same messages from the earth one (which I assume means email) go into the plain envelope one which I think means ALL messages including BB PIN Messages? And then to other texts show up in the plain one?

View 5 Replies View RelatedWell i noticed when i got a call from my gf the picture came up using her fb profile pic which was always so blurred! So I remember changing it to another picture and selecting it to show up as the caller id picture and to overwrite anything that would change it.
However now , it also changes her bbm picture and it would not change even if she changes it herself now her bbm picture is stuck as well.I forgot where i went to change this overwrite picture setting...
I set my connection preference to: Wi-Fi Preferred. Recently I notice, every time I leave my office or area with wifi, my network coverage doesn't change to EDGE automatically. Sometimes I get edge, sometimes nothing at all (either "X" or OFF). I've to turn my BB off for few seconds, turn it back on, then I get EDGE. Does anybody know why this happens?
View 5 Replies View RelatedHere is what I would like to do and did in the past with Media player and my HTC Touch Pro 2 - I created an auto playlist that selects songs that have NOT been listened to, a playcount less than one. (it doesn't show up in the desktop manager for media sync) I would like to be able to listen to stuff (causing a play count of one on the phone), and then when I re-connect to the computer have media player remove what has a play count of more than zero. This had some success with my HTC Touch Pro 2. It appears to NOT work on my 8530, it looks like NOTHING gets removed from the phone and there is no "auto" about it. The memory card is full, I listened to songs, re-connected to the computer and it appears that media player sees that the card is full and does nothing.I have had my 8530 1 DAY and have gotten many answers here from previous threads.

After i started using the 8520 on the at&t network i noticed that i cannot change my setting from hotspot browser to internet browser anymore which in turn i cannot use the data service with at&t that i am paying for. Any help with this issue is greatly appreciated.

I have wireless interent connection and I've checked everything - it's hooked up and I've tried to close out programs, restart etc. I have the latest iTunes version on my computer.

This is my second blackberry curve 8530 and they both have the same problem, they won't play videos. They use to but now when I go to like you tube, or nothingtoxic.com, or even my video recordings it won't play it says an error has occurred media attempt failed. I use to restart my BB and that would help for a lil while now it doesn't work at all. How do I fix this?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI went to a different time zone last month and of course changed my clock on my Curve 8520 to that zone (6 hours ahead of my home zone EST). Of course when I returned I changed back. Since then every time I sync to my computer the zone changes to a different time (7 hours behind my zone). Also now after a sync when I click on the clock icon it shows 2 analog clocks. One large one with the new wrong time and a small one to the left showing the correct time. After I reset the time I get only one large analog clock showing the correct time until I resync again.I have checked and rechecked the settings. I have changed the date/time source setting from 'Blackberry' Network Time to 'Network' Time and this does not make any difference. I've pulled the battery. I've reset the sync maagement options.What a pain having to change the time every time I sync. I've called my service provider (rogers) and they went through the same steps I have already tried.

The 8530 that I've had since Jan 01 is better, it only does it now and then when it is tethered to my pc.. Rendering it just about useless for my business activities. US Cellular is at a loss. Should I accept this defect as part of the BB experience?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the new OS when I plugged my phone to the computer... it sounded like a good idea to upgrade everything but I do not like how the UNlock function is only through the mute button now. I mean, if I wanted to just lock/unlock my phone that way with the push of only one button, I could use the standby (mute) button and press on it again to unlock it before. I really liked the previous version where you had to take the extra step of pushing two buttons (A and Send) to unlock it. Because I unlock my phone by accident a lot when it's in my purse and I reach for something and accidentally press the top button (mute button). Any ideas if Blackberry is planning on a new OS version soon that would restore the old locking/unlocking system? I do not necessarily want to downgrade to a previous OS version but I might have to as the "easy" one-button only unlocking option is not working for me.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI updated my phone the other day with the v5.0.0.734 OS. It wiped out everything. I had to go back and restore my contacts, reload ringtones and apps, etc. Got everything back the way it was now.
I have three email accounts synced to it. All are active, Wi-fi on, network on. New mail isn't showing up on my handset, only from my gmail account, the hotmails aren't showing up. Used to be you could look in the folder for each email account and see what emails were there, then there was one folder that showed all of them. What am I missing?
OMG I got rid of my bb 8530 for a samsung moment and its x100000 better!

I'm gettin sick n tired of this trackball on the 8330, I recently had to fix it cause it would only go up... so onto a new Blackberry! Can anyone give me some input about the 8530? I hear the camera has no flash , is that true? How is that supposed to be an upgrade!? Anything else I should know that's different between the two, aside from the obvious?
