I recently did the upgrade on my bb cuve 8530 for vzw to v5.0.0.508 and i noticed that my yahoo mail icon is no where to be found. i've deleted my email account and set it up again and still no icon. any suggestions on how to get it back?
View 6 Repliesmy Yahoo Mail icon decided to go missing (again) after I did a battery pull. Normally, I can resend service books once or twice and it'll pop back up. This time, however, no such luck. I've resent services books (around 20 times or more). I've deleted service books all together and then resent them. I've deleted the email all together and readded it. I've tried with another Yahoo address. Nothing is able to bring back my beloved icon. Does anyone else have any ideas as to how to bring it back? I really hate the mail icon with the little globe and I'm pretty sure I'd do whatever it takes to get my Yahoo icon back.

I went to bb website to download, but it says unsupported. well, sorta because 8520 doesn't have gps, but why it is installed if it can't be used?
I updated my phone the other day with the v5.0.0.734 OS. It wiped out everything. I had to go back and restore my contacts, reload ringtones and apps, etc. Got everything back the way it was now.
I have three email accounts synced to it. All are active, Wi-fi on, network on. New mail isn't showing up on my handset, only from my gmail account, the hotmails aren't showing up. Used to be you could look in the folder for each email account and see what emails were there, then there was one folder that showed all of them. What am I missing?
Ok it seems since yesterday my 8530 has not been getting any emails from yahoo. Anyone have this problem? Anyone know of a possible cause and solution? not sure what the deal is. I have rebooted it a time or two and even hit reconcile and nothing. I sent myself an email from my phone and it went through but none others.

View 4 Replies View RelatedMy friend has the Curve 8530 on Verizon and OS 5.0.0.508. She has the data package, which Verizon requires, but does not have any data or e-mail accessability on her Curve. She has done battery pulls, resent routing tables, and gone in to the store. Each time she goes in they tell her it is a software issue and that there is not an update yet. Is anyone else having this issue? Are they just pulling her leg because they have no clue?
View 8 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the new OS when I plugged my phone to the computer... it sounded like a good idea to upgrade everything but I do not like how the UNlock function is only through the mute button now. I mean, if I wanted to just lock/unlock my phone that way with the push of only one button, I could use the standby (mute) button and press on it again to unlock it before. I really liked the previous version where you had to take the extra step of pushing two buttons (A and Send) to unlock it. Because I unlock my phone by accident a lot when it's in my purse and I reach for something and accidentally press the top button (mute button). Any ideas if Blackberry is planning on a new OS version soon that would restore the old locking/unlocking system? I do not necessarily want to downgrade to a previous OS version but I might have to as the "easy" one-button only unlocking option is not working for me.

Here's a screenie of my BBSAK "read system," showing that there is nothing with VVM on my phone, yet visual voice mail is still there, despite several restarts and different fixes. It shows up on my applications list but not with my themes. I've checked every folder and nook and cranny. I've even restarted my phone. The red light for notification isn't flashing unless I receive another. And the icon is also displayed at the top of pages for other applications. Is there a way to keep the voice mail messages from appearing in both text message and message locations? The blackberry keeps duplicating messages in the message folder as well as the text message location, which means listening to the message, then deleting the message from voice mail. Then deleting the message alert from the message location as well as the text message location.

It has a 3 and right next to it is a black circle with a red mark on upper right edge of circle. Almost resembles the old round cartoon bombs from years ago. Just showed up on my phone last week.

Since then, my Yahoo! mail icon has been replaced with a generic Blackberry email icon. Based on suggestions I have seen online, I have tried removing and reinserting the battery, as well as deleting and re-adding the email account in the BIS website. Neither of these worked.

It is the twitter symbol "t" with a number 9 next to it - I pressume it is telling me I have messages, but I do not.
