Is there a way to keep the voice mail messages from appearing in both text message and message locations? The blackberry keeps duplicating messages in the message folder as well as the text message location, which means listening to the message, then deleting the message from voice mail. Then deleting the message alert from the message location as well as the text message location.

My friend has the Curve 8530 on Verizon and OS 5.0.0.508. She has the data package, which Verizon requires, but does not have any data or e-mail accessability on her Curve. She has done battery pulls, resent routing tables, and gone in to the store. Each time she goes in they tell her it is a software issue and that there is not an update yet. Is anyone else having this issue? Are they just pulling her leg because they have no clue?

Here's a screenie of my BBSAK "read system," showing that there is nothing with VVM on my phone, yet visual voice mail is still there, despite several restarts and different fixes. I'm running a T-Mobile Curve 8520 with .592.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI updated my phone the other day with the v5.0.0.734 OS. It wiped out everything. I had to go back and restore my contacts, reload ringtones and apps, etc. Got everything back the way it was now.
I have three email accounts synced to it. All are active, Wi-fi on, network on. New mail isn't showing up on my handset, only from my gmail account, the hotmails aren't showing up. Used to be you could look in the folder for each email account and see what emails were there, then there was one folder that showed all of them. What am I missing?
I have a 8520 T-Mobile and everytime I get a new email and or text it rads it automatically. I want it to stop .How do i do it ?It is disturbing i managed to turn off the text but the mail keeps on doing it .

View 1 Replies View RelatedI looked through some of the previous problems listed and didn't see mine so thought I would start a new discussion. I have had my 8520 for 7 months, and within the last two weeks it started acting up when I tried playing music.Anytime I plug in the head phones it automatically asks me to "say a command" for the voice activation. Which is not something I use. It also doesn't always switch from speaker phone to headset and I have to manually switch to my output of choice, and last but not least when the "say a command" option appears I cancel it and then my MP3's play at a slower audio rate (or half the speed of the actual music). Turning off the device doesn't help and it seems to only correct itself when I do a reset (by removing the battery).

View 4 Replies View RelatedBeing a CDMA user for so many years, I enjoyed nice voice clarity on almost any phone. 4-5 days back I have switched to GSM with 8520. Everything is nice but I'm experiencing very odd problem. I really don't know whether it is my mind playing a trick or it is true.
When talking over the phone, I feel the sound from other end is compressed...muffled... whatever you call it but its not clear as I used to get it on my CDMA network. I have tried enhancing options with boosting treble but not much difference. My ears feel pressurized while talking. I have told my wife to check the clarity but she is ok with it. For CDMA conection I'm using Samsung SCH-S379. Its very basic yet very clear compare to 8520.
I'm running on pre loaded 4.6 OS. My phone is made in Hungery 3 and its January 2010 make. Not yet activated BES/BIS. Does upgrading OS to 5.0 helps in improving earpiece voice clarity ?? do we have any other adjustments ?? is there always a difference in voice clarity in GSM and CDMA ??
my Yahoo Mail icon decided to go missing (again) after I did a battery pull. Normally, I can resend service books once or twice and it'll pop back up. This time, however, no such luck. I've resent services books (around 20 times or more). I've deleted service books all together and then resent them. I've deleted the email all together and readded it. I've tried with another Yahoo address. Nothing is able to bring back my beloved icon. Does anyone else have any ideas as to how to bring it back? I really hate the mail icon with the little globe and I'm pretty sure I'd do whatever it takes to get my Yahoo icon back.

Whenever I plug my headphones to listen to music, or plug my line-out cord so I can listen in my car, it always prompts me to 'say a command'. While a minor setback, I find it annoying since it's never what I use it for.Anyway, is there a way to turn it off, or set it to automatically play music when plugged in?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI am new to Blackberry and I have some questions about my 9700. I have tried looking to see if this has been posted but I didn’t see anything. I recently installed the .602 OS and did the battery pull and all that hoping it would fix the problem but it hasn’t. The problem is when I miss a phone call and receive a voice mail. I do have the visual voice mail set up and to my knowledge that works fine. The visual voice mail alert popup shows up first and when I go to play the VM, it starts playing and then the missed call alert popup shows up on top of VM. I can either open the missed call to view it or dismiss it. If I open it, I can’t do anything to the VW since it is still going or not going anymore in background and if I dismiss the missed call, I have to go back a view the missed call in the call log to get the icon to go away. Also, once everything is done, my SMS & MMS folder opens up for no reason that I am aware of. Is this normal for everyone’s phone? If not, do I have a setting wrong that I am not aware of? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

They use to but now when I go to like you tube, or nothingtoxic.com, or even my video recordings it won't play it says an error has occurred media attempt failed. I use to restart my BB and that would help for a lil while now it doesn't work at all. How do I fix this?

All of the people in his address book have "classic ringer" as their custom ring tone along with the volume set about midway like its some kind of default setting. I have tried changing the profiles/ringtones and creating new ones (with different tones) this does not change the ringer for those 80+ people. In the Set Contact Alert menu there are only 3 people with a custom tone showing.The Classic Ring is not loud enough for him to hear and no matter how I try to change the default ringer it does not change the ring for the contact list.I've done a battery pull, no change.Updated it to newest OS.Contact list was imported from a Storm 2(he likes having actual buttons to push).
Am I missing something or 1) shouldn't all those people show up in the Set Contact Alert Menu, if there is a custom tone set up or 2) shouldn't their default change if I change the default for the phone.I haven't checked all of them, but did check at least 10 and regardless of what I do they're still the same. Ringer shows Classic all other options say active profile.Is there any way I can change their default ringer without having to give each one a custom ring--too time consuming?
I had a 8330 (for 2 months) that would reboot itself constantly. Does not do it anymore 'cause I returned it for a 8530. The 8530 that I've had since Jan 01 is better, it only does it now and then when it is tethered to my pc.. Rendering it just about useless for my business activities. US Cellular is at a loss. Should I accept this defect as part of the BB experience?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just downloaded the new OS when I plugged my phone to the computer... it sounded like a good idea to upgrade everything but I do not like how the UNlock function is only through the mute button now. I mean, if I wanted to just lock/unlock my phone that way with the push of only one button, I could use the standby (mute) button and press on it again to unlock it before. I really liked the previous version where you had to take the extra step of pushing two buttons (A and Send) to unlock it. Because I unlock my phone by accident a lot when it's in my purse and I reach for something and accidentally press the top button (mute button). Any ideas if Blackberry is planning on a new OS version soon that would restore the old locking/unlocking system? I do not necessarily want to downgrade to a previous OS version but I might have to as the "easy" one-button only unlocking option is not working for me.

I'm gettin sick n tired of this trackball on the 8330, I recently had to fix it cause it would only go up... so onto a new Blackberry! Can anyone give me some input about the 8530? I hear the camera has no flash , is that true? How is that supposed to be an upgrade!? Anything else I should know that's different between the two, aside from the obvious?

But when i check my email for yahoo on my laptop, it still shows up on my BB and doesnt delete unless I personally delete it. Is there an option that when i check my email from my laptop that it will delete on my BB??

The only apps that I have opened that possibly check the internet are facebook & my weather network app. I have the weather app set to check every hour. So how could it drop so fast? I also have wifi turned on but does that kill it that quickly?

I haven't noticed a pattern as to when it does this, and it doesn't seem to be a regular interval. I'll have it sitting next to me on the table, and suddenly it lights up, shuts down, and starts back up, and carries on as if nothing happened.

My screen has the history of every text message sent between me and the reciepient as if we are in a chat screen. On the curve 8330 all you had to do was go to options-sms-number of previous items and change the setting. Under the help option and in the user manual for the 8530 it says to follow those exact directions but for some reason that option is not available for me when I go to options-sms. I contacted my service provider Verizon and they stated the option isnt available on this model. So why would it be under the help menu on the phone. Can anyone help me I hate to read days and days of text messages between me and another person if I make a mistake and scroll up. All I want to do is see the previous text message in the new text message screen.
