Dec 29, 2011Every once in a while I would get one SMS message from an unknown number which was spam. Today, for the last 4-5 hrs, I've been receiving numerous spam SMS msgs from 2 area codes in the Atlanta, GA area that are 3 different mobile numbers, and some of which are from the same repeating mobile number. Is there a way to block any spam text messages? I've just been deleting them, but didn't know if you can filter or block SMS msgs like you can with emails. I have a Blackberry Curve 8520 through AT&T

Jul 14, 2010I am new to this whole Blackberry thing, so please... take it easy on me.Anyway, whenever I add a new contact from a phone call or whatever it, by default, goes under as their "Work" number. Even when I transferred numbers from my Envy to my Blackberry a lot of the contacts went under "Work" rather than "Mobil".How can I change it so that by default it comes up under mobile (since that's the majority of numbers I add to my contacts)?Also, is there a way to easily switch the classification of a number? Lately I've been just going into the contact and retyping it, but doing that for all of my contacts will be a pain.

Sep 4, 2010I just recently upgraded to OS 5 and i have been going through a bit of a pain as everything that i was used to with OS 4 is has changed ! (some for the better but some worse !)anyways to the point. I realized that my picture count has been resetted to IMG00001-xxxxx. Is there anyway i could reset it so that it would continue my original count ?Its a pain finding the pictures as it would be in-between my older pictures with the low counts.

Jun 18, 2010I have a problem with my bb the home screen displays a 'new bbm notification' icon, but there is nothing. The red light for notification isn't flashing unless I receive another. And the icon is also displayed at the top of pages for other applications. I have rebooted twice already and it does not disappear. The icon really does frustrate me.

Mar 29, 2010Each time my phone has to restart or reboot, my email icon which is AOL(green envelope w/ a blue AOL/logo @ bottom of envelope) disappears and the standard icon appears in home screen. Before to get it back, i go to email setup and delete it then add it back, then AOL icon returns. Now doing it the same way, my green AOL icon does not return anymore! just the standard one, can anybody help on how to get it back? Please!!Thanks!!

Apr 10, 2010my Yahoo Mail icon decided to go missing (again) after I did a battery pull. Normally, I can resend service books once or twice and it'll pop back up. This time, however, no such luck. I've resent services books (around 20 times or more). I've deleted service books all together and then resent them. I've deleted the email all together and readded it. I've tried with another Yahoo address. Nothing is able to bring back my beloved icon. Does anyone else have any ideas as to how to bring it back? I really hate the mail icon with the little globe and I'm pretty sure I'd do whatever it takes to get my Yahoo icon back.

I set the inbox settings so that some of the email addresses do not show in the Messages inbox, however, they still show a small icon notification at the top tray when there are unread messages there.

Jun 14, 2010I have searched around and found many problems faced regarding the email icon showing unread emails but in actual fact there are none. My problem however is the opposite of that - there are unread emails but it is not indicating as such.
This is specifically for Gmail as all my other email accounts are showing unread emails just fine. It is a minor issue but it does get on my nerves trying to figure this out.
Recent activities include upgrading OS to OS5 and changing telco, doubt if these are the cause of it. I have tried deleting and creating the email account and battery pull to no avail.

Mar 27, 2010Just upgraded from 8330 to 8530. I am not a moron with these phones, but I can not get an unread email notification to disappear. I have no new messages, I have done repeated battery pulls, I have changed themes, I have gone through all my email accounts. I havd searched through this board, and don't see any other ideas that might solve this issue. At this point the little #1 at the top of my screen is my arch nemesis. Anyone have any other ideas?
