Just wondering if there is a way to block certain phone numbers from calling you?I haven't found any such option in any menu on the BB.am I not looking in the right place, or can you do that by calling your carrier?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am new to this whole Blackberry thing, so please... take it easy on me.Anyway, whenever I add a new contact from a phone call or whatever it, by default, goes under as their "Work" number. Even when I transferred numbers from my Envy to my Blackberry a lot of the contacts went under "Work" rather than "Mobil".How can I change it so that by default it comes up under mobile (since that's the majority of numbers I add to my contacts)?Also, is there a way to easily switch the classification of a number? Lately I've been just going into the contact and retyping it, but doing that for all of my contacts will be a pain.

A lot of people are selling 004/005 so I was wondering if that version is compatible or not. If anyone has had the same problem or knows of a solution I would greatly appreciate any help.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI just recently upgraded to OS 5 and i have been going through a bit of a pain as everything that i was used to with OS 4 is has changed ! (some for the better but some worse !)anyways to the point. I realized that my picture count has been resetted to IMG00001-xxxxx. Is there anyway i could reset it so that it would continue my original count ?Its a pain finding the pictures as it would be in-between my older pictures with the low counts.

View 5 Replies View Relatedgot a 8520 a couple of months ago, and after two weeks the phone speaker would break up when making a call, so you could only hear 1 in 3 words someone was saying, and inbetween was silence.T-mobile sent me a new one out next day, but now after 4 months the new one has started doing it.Can make calls fine with ear piece, speakerphone is working for playing music, haven't tried it for calls, and handset speaker works fine for music too, but breaks up when phoning anyoneThe second time it happened was just after okaying an upgrade. Anyone heard of this before?

is the 8520 housings are compatible with the 8530? I know the answer is probably yes because there's no differences at all in the phone not like the 83XX series. Also, mine is Grey OEM by Telus. I just don't know what colour i'll customize it, any Idea? I like black and white just like my old Tour, but there's white 8520 so it would be less unique

I have horrible battery life with the device. With brightness at 10 percent, ten second backlight, locking the phone when not in use, having wifi and bluetooth off when not in use, and phone off or antenna off when in low service (about four hours), I am lucky to get through the day with a little bit of heavy use (web browsing). I have a few minutes of calls, and mainly texting and web browsing with some email. I expected better battery life out of a blackberry!
The reception on my phone is bad. I have five bars of sprint coverage at my house, but when I pick up the phone and start using it the coverage drops to two bars, zero bars, searching, and can't keep a signal. With one bar of service my phone won't send messages, and then I will lose the bar where my old phone would get one bar solid, sometimes two bars.
I downloaded my lookout virus scanner.Worked great.Did an upgrade from BBapp world and after reboot it starts and the application permission pops up and everything is frozen. My animated screensaver is moving in the background and if I press the alt or caps key the symbol comes on and off but nothing moves and I cant do anything. The phone signal never turns on and the time freezes to when it first starts. I have pulled the battery atleast 20 times and have done the alt caps del reset a bunch too. I email the company of the program and filed a help request but it being the weekend I think Im screwed with them. Can anyone help me out how to get around this I just wanna get my phone back this has been all afternoon.

Sprint said it couldn't be done. One of them are lying to me, but I don't know which one. It shouldn't be a big deal. It should be just changing the software. What should I do?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got a 8530 from work and the second I plug it into my pc by the USB cord, it shuts the phone off and the red led comes on. Then the white spinning clocks comes on and then back to the red led and keeps resetting. It does this on both curves we just purchased for work. Same PC works without a hitch for a 9550 and a 9630 same usb cord. As soon as I remove the usb cord from the curves, they boot up fine. Any help would be nice.

When i go to the blackberry site & find the software & click update it opens blackberry desktop manager and then starts to do some searching. When I'm reading a page, I will sometimes switch websites, accidentally or intentionally; if I do this, and then try to go back to the page I was reading, I have to wait 1-2 or more minutes all over again before the page is visible.Is there any way to cache web pages in the phone's memory (as you can do on a normal web browser like Firefox), so I don't have to keep going through this?(I've been told you can't have multiple pages open at once on a Curve 8530, but if this is wrong, I'd be happy to hear it.)

View 5 Replies View RelatedI've noticed that when the Blackberry loading page start up and the little status bar reaches full, it takes a few seconds longer to bring me to the home page. Before, it would fill up, then like 2 seconds later the carrier splash page would come up and then my homescreen. Now, it stays on the black Blackberry loading page for at least 10 seconds before the carrier logo comes up. Is this normal? I don't my phone to die on me or something.
