BB Curve 8520/8530 :: Way To Cache Web Pages In Phone's Memory
Sep 9, 2010
I'm using the native browser on my Curve 8530. With the connection I have, a web page will often take 1-2 minutes to load, if not longer. When I'm reading a page, I will sometimes switch websites, accidentally or intentionally; if I do this, and then try to go back to the page I was reading, I have to wait 1-2 or more minutes all over again before the page is visible. Is there any way to cache web pages in the phone's memory (as you can do on a normal web browser like Firefox), so I don't have to keep going through this?(I've been told you can't have multiple pages open at once on a Curve 8530, but if this is wrong, I'd be happy to hear it.)
I just got my Blackberry Curve two weeks ago and it the browser doesn't load pages. The bar at the bottom looks like it has reached 100% but it never shows the webpage. My friend downloaded Opera Mini and it works fine. My email also works fine. I wanted to download an app and it didn't work either because I think it was using the brower to open a webpage.
The Application Memory in my Options>Memory keeps on decresin as I use the phone. (I didn't download/removed/upgraded any apps). Like I have around 112 mb of free application memory when my phone starts up after a battery pull, and after using it for like 6-8 hrs. the Free space in application memory went down to 72.3 mb :S .This is making my phone real slow. Also, when I restart (battery pull) my phone, the memory goes back up to original 112 mb bt then all f this thing happns all over again. Someone on my prev. thread replied that it was a case of "Memory Leak", and I must wipe my handset to get rid of it. I wiped it, Installed new OS (5.0.0.681) and the problem is still there.
my girl and I both have the 8530 with Sprint, and for some reason, her application memory is down to 68MB, while mine is up at 106MB... and I have way more apps on mine! Rebooting her phone doesn't help at all, and I just can't figure out why the difference is so big, since I do have a lot more apps than she does. We are both running the same OS, the new .654 OS. I do have BerryJoose memory cleaner, but I wouldn't think that would make such a big difference.
I just got my BlackBerry curve 8520 last week and I just noticed when I looked at the Application Memory that it had changed. Yesterday it was 135.5 mb but when I looked at it today it changed to 132.7 mb. Have any of you guys experienced this before? Is this normal in a BlackBerry?
How much Device memory should I have? I have a BB 8520 with 122277261 File Free. And when I check App World it says I have 116 MB left. I'm always scared of going under 110 MB. How much device memory should you have? Is it alright if I go under 110 MB in my device memory?
So I just got my Blackberry yesterday and while I was tweaking around and setting my passwords, I enabled Secure Content and it said that it will start Memory Cleaning and that it'll take a few minutes. I waited for it to finish but then it just died down on me. It went off and then whenever I'd try to turn it on, a solid red light goes on and then it goes to the white screen with the clock-loading icon thing for 5 minutes then turns off then does it again or just remains off. I tried pulling out the battery then turning it on, charging it for 3 hours straight, the 101 on Reinstalling the OS on a Bricked Berry and it still forever loops on its boot up. I don't know what happened or why it did that and to think that it was barely a day old when it happened. Any suggestions on what to do besides taking it to my carrier?
is the blackberry 8530 for verizon a world phone? if not does anybody know the official release date for the verizon 9650? i heard it was supposed to be today but when i checked their website today it was not out yet
I have been trying to access a website that I normally visit daily and today it was telling me that about memory being full. Its only when i try to access my inbox, yet the the rest of the pages will load (including facebook).I deleted a bunch of pics off my phone and thought if i enabled memory cleaning, it would clear my cache, cookies, etc. the prompt said it would save changes when the device was turned off and rebooted. I did a battery pull and now what is happening is my issue.
after i pulled the battery, I get a red blink of hte led, then a black screen with a clock in the middle (obviously the loading symbol) and then the screen showing "blackberry" with a loading bar.Once the loading bar is done loading...nothing! It goes back to turning off the device and reloading from the start. It has been doing this for 2 hours and the device will not go to the home screen, it just keeps rebooting itself. I have done 2 or 3 battery pulls now and it keeps doing it. Would it have anything to do with the "memory clean" enablement? or is the peice of cr@p toast now? And have i lost all my contacts??
got a 8520 a couple of months ago, and after two weeks the phone speaker would break up when making a call, so you could only hear 1 in 3 words someone was saying, and inbetween was silence.T-mobile sent me a new one out next day, but now after 4 months the new one has started doing it.Can make calls fine with ear piece, speakerphone is working for playing music, haven't tried it for calls, and handset speaker works fine for music too, but breaks up when phoning anyoneThe second time it happened was just after okaying an upgrade. Anyone heard of this before?
I know there are similar threads but I have not gotten it to work. Can someone post an updated Tutorial of how to do this for free (no tethering) I have: BlackBerry Curve 8520 Windows 7 AT&T
I know this has been asked a trillion times before, but I'm pretty sure I have tried most things, and I still only have about 13mb left and declining. I have lost a mb just today. Don't know how.I have cleaned my web browser cache, store the messages on mass memory along with photos and videos. Make sure the applications are storing to mass memory. I'm really struggling to find where all the memory has gone?
is the 8520 housings are compatible with the 8530? I know the answer is probably yes because there's no differences at all in the phone not like the 83XX series. Also, mine is Grey OEM by Telus. I just don't know what colour i'll customize it, any Idea? I like black and white just like my old Tour, but there's white 8520 so it would be less unique
Just wondering if there is a way to block certain phone numbers from calling you?I haven't found any such option in any menu on the BB.am I not looking in the right place, or can you do that by calling your carrier?
I got my sprint curve 8530 last thursday, and so far haven't been having a good experience.
I have horrible battery life with the device. With brightness at 10 percent, ten second backlight, locking the phone when not in use, having wifi and bluetooth off when not in use, and phone off or antenna off when in low service (about four hours), I am lucky to get through the day with a little bit of heavy use (web browsing). I have a few minutes of calls, and mainly texting and web browsing with some email. I expected better battery life out of a blackberry!
The reception on my phone is bad. I have five bars of sprint coverage at my house, but when I pick up the phone and start using it the coverage drops to two bars, zero bars, searching, and can't keep a signal. With one bar of service my phone won't send messages, and then I will lose the bar where my old phone would get one bar solid, sometimes two bars.
I downloaded my lookout virus scanner.Worked great.Did an upgrade from BBapp world and after reboot it starts and the application permission pops up and everything is frozen. My animated screensaver is moving in the background and if I press the alt or caps key the symbol comes on and off but nothing moves and I cant do anything. The phone signal never turns on and the time freezes to when it first starts. I have pulled the battery atleast 20 times and have done the alt caps del reset a bunch too. I email the company of the program and filed a help request but it being the weekend I think Im screwed with them. Can anyone help me out how to get around this I just wanna get my phone back this has been all afternoon.
I currently have a Pearl with Tmobile. My friend gave me his Curve 8520, but his phone was with Sprint. I went to Tmobile and they said that Sprint had to unlock the phone. Sprint said it couldn't be done. One of them are lying to me, but I don't know which one. It shouldn't be a big deal. It should be just changing the software. What should I do?
I just got a 8530 from work and the second I plug it into my pc by the USB cord, it shuts the phone off and the red led comes on. Then the white spinning clocks comes on and then back to the red led and keeps resetting. It does this on both curves we just purchased for work. Same PC works without a hitch for a 9550 and a 9630 same usb cord. As soon as I remove the usb cord from the curves, they boot up fine. Any help would be nice.
so i just upgraded my 8520 OS to 5. i went to lock the phone, and it didn't lock in the way that i was used to. the phone when to sleep instead of locking. is there a way to revert the lock feature back to the way it was, or is this how it locks with OS 5?
when i try to watch a Internet video or listen to an mp3 stream on my sprint 8530, i get "an error has occured attempting to play media." this happens on the cellular network, but not on wi-fi. i am running 5.0.0.886. does anyone else have this problem?
Well i was just wondering if anyone can help me.. I have a blackberry 8520 curve and i want to update the phone software to the v.5.0. Its currently got v.4. When i go to the blackberry site & find the software & click update it opens blackberry desktop manager and then starts to do some searching. Then it says to choose which software i want to install but only gives me the option of the software i have already on the phone or to downgrade my boyfriend has the same phone and i tried it on his yesterday and it worked saying he could install v.5.0.. im thinking i should just take it back to the shop & get them to update it,
Maybe I just can't find it on my 8530, but is there an auto lock feature on this blackberry? Sometimes I forget to and it would be nice if it didn't pocket dial anyone on accident.I know there's auto dimming of the screen, if it locked also when it did that, that would be awesome.
how do i reset my phone back to factory os and wipe everything off my phone as if it was bran new. i noticed when i reinstalled the .459 os i still had some of my software on my phone i want to do a clean wipe with a fresh install any help would be nice...
I've noticed that when the Blackberry loading page start up and the little status bar reaches full, it takes a few seconds longer to bring me to the home page. Before, it would fill up, then like 2 seconds later the carrier splash page would come up and then my homescreen. Now, it stays on the black Blackberry loading page for at least 10 seconds before the carrier logo comes up. Is this normal? I don't my phone to die on me or something.
I have an icon on my phone and don't know how to get it off. Its a blue phone with a green dot next to it and theres a 3. My voicemail was messed up when I got it and they fixed that.I'm just wondering if it has to do with my old voicemail. But I want the icon off! Any suggestions?
just picked up a Curve 8520 after using a Storm for a year and a half. The only problem is that the volume during a conversation is just too quiet. The volume is at 100% and I've tried the enhanced bass and treble but its still useless.
Phone will not vibrate when receiving Emails (8530). I tried changing and editing the profile for Vibrate only, everything looks right but yet its still doesnt work.
Is there anyway to increase my service or reception on this phone? I bearly get a bar inside my house and i live in a good coverage zone. I have virgin mobile. Is there a way to increase my reception maybe by tweaking the internal antenna. Btw where is the internal antenna for this.
