BB Curve :: 8520 On SOS Mode Every Morning - Signal Lost
Sep 21, 2012I have a problem, my unlocked 8520 is every morning on sos mode. The battery is not drained, the 'edge' reception is ok, just the signal is always lost.

Jan 4, 2012My Curve 8520 has stopped getting signal. It just stopped working!
I can't get a picture but on "Manage Connections" where it says "Mobile Network" it says "On" in green font but then the little symbol next to that is a white horizontal line. (which to the best of my knowledge means that there is no connection) I also know that I am in an area with signal so it's definitly not that.

Sep 12, 2012I got a Blackberry Curve 8520. I have for 2 years been with O2 (pay as you go) on it. my screen cracked a few weeks ago, and 2 days ago I replaced the screen. Adding my sim-card (had been using a different phone, whilst the BB was knackered), it shows the signal as X.The simcard works fine (tried it in other phone to make sure).How can I get my phone connected to the O2 network again?

Aug 3, 2010I have a bb curve 8520 on orange, im from the uk and have virgin broadband. i have a dlink wirles router. i can connect to it no problem and get the wifi emblem in white and black showing its connected, i also have my routers name come up so its definatly connected. i have litteraly no signal in my house, either 1 bar or sos, sometimes i will get uma signal, sometimes not, my gf has the same contract and phone as i do, both are orange branded phones and she gets uma signal almost instantly as she steps into the house. why do i not get uma, are my settigns not configured properly? as i really cant send or recieve calls and messages.

Dec 8, 2012Iv got blackberry 8520 with vodaphone. It suddenly has stopped getting signal most of the time in the house. I know its not sim as sim works fine in other handsets and no prob with handset and service provider say its a blackberry problem so won't help. Iv looked under manage connections and doesn't appear to be option for changing to 3g as service provider suggested.

I had it unlocked and it works fine with my Tmobile Sim card.The only thing is that it will not pick up WIFI signal to make phone calls. Do I need to change any settings or download software ?

Sep 22, 2010As per subject above. It has been that way for the past 12 hours. My phone was switched off before, and when I turned it back on, it has been in SOS mode. I've tried resetting the phone (taking out SIM card and battery), and I've also tried detecting my provider manually -- all to no avail. I've also made sure my SIM card is inserted correctly. Periodically, an error message with the words "net_rim_bb_simphonebook (213)" comes on. I would also like to add that wireless detecting is not a problem.

Feb 12, 2011My BlackBerry Curve 8520 got wet a few days ago, it's since been left to dry out with all parts removed on top of my Virgin Media box. I checked for damage today & it appears to be working fine, apart from the fact that it's stuck in alt mode.Any suggestions on how I can get it out of alt mode? The button doesn't appear to be stuck. The 'alt' icon in the corner changes to '123' when I select the left shift button, but when deselected it changes back to alt mode.I've done a few battery pulls, removed all third party applications & re-installed its OS. To be able to type normally with letters I have to either hold down the 'return/back' button, 'X' 'V' or 'B' button, or the '$' button. Whilst holding these I can select whether I want 'alt' or not, but then it returns when I let go anyway

Jun 3, 2010I installed a hybrid OS and everything is working fine! But today I saw something funny on the street that I wanted to record. But when I pulled out my phone I couldn't find my video recorder. sucks! So I've looked in all the folders and its no where to be found. I don't normally record videos but I'm baffled. I still have the same ringtone and text message alert message. I took out the memory card and put it back in and it's still the same. Aug 12, 2010For the sake of modesty, this is my 1st Blackberry. Have to admit I was skeptical BUT it is a beautiful device despite it isn't the all-friendly Windows OS (insert sarcastic grin here). Now I have scoured a good bit of forums, websites, etc. yet I haven't been able to figure out how to switch TO portrait mode. Reason being, I have downloaded Sonic The Hedgehog 2 (gotta love vintage SEGA!) and installed it but when I go to open it (it's in my downloads folder) the screen says: "Landscape mode is not supported for this application. Please switch back to portrait" at least that's what I assume it says as some of the words are cut off from the screen, I reckon because it is, ahem, in landscape mode.

I would like to import only the Contact List contained in that back up data from the stolen device to a new Curve 8520. However I do not see any method to do that other than to "Import Files" to the new Curve from the backup data via Desk Top Manager from PC.
