My Curve 8520 has stopped getting signal. It just stopped working!
I can't get a picture but on "Manage Connections" where it says "Mobile Network" it says "On" in green font but then the little symbol next to that is a white horizontal line. (which to the best of my knowledge means that there is no connection) I also know that I am in an area with signal so it's definitly not that.
Iv got blackberry 8520 with vodaphone. It suddenly has stopped getting signal most of the time in the house. I know its not sim as sim works fine in other handsets and no prob with handset and service provider say its a blackberry problem so won't help. Iv looked under manage connections and doesn't appear to be option for changing to 3g as service provider suggested.

Adding my sim-card (had been using a different phone, whilst the BB was knackered), it shows the signal as X.The simcard works fine (tried it in other phone to make sure).How can I get my phone connected to the O2 network again?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a bb curve 8520 on orange, im from the uk and have virgin broadband. i have a dlink wirles router. i can connect to it no problem and get the wifi emblem in white and black showing its connected, i also have my routers name come up so its definatly connected. i have litteraly no signal in my house, either 1 bar or sos, sometimes i will get uma signal, sometimes not, my gf has the same contract and phone as i do, both are orange branded phones and she gets uma signal almost instantly as she steps into the house. why do i not get uma, are my settigns not configured properly? as i really cant send or recieve calls and messages.

I had it unlocked and it works fine with my Tmobile Sim card.The only thing is that it will not pick up WIFI signal to make phone calls. Do I need to change any settings or download software ?

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Curve 8520 's e button just stopped working, doesnt work no matter how hard you press. Sometimes will get assign speed dial to e or if i'm texting a capital E but it is completely random. Also at the same time when the screen times out it is unresponsive, the screen wont come up until you press any button many many times, found out that holding any button down will also make the screen reappear after a few seconds, also if you turn it off, the power button wont turn it back on, you have to take the battery out to get it on again, otherwise it works fine.
View 7 Replies View RelatedI bought a 2nd hand BB Curve 8520 about 6 months ago, and had it unlocked to use on Orange. My problems started on Sunday - I was unable to connect to the internet using WiFi or my unlimited access. Since Monday I have discovered that I cannot receive phone calls - it goes straight to voicemail, and any texts / emails / FB notifications I receive are massively delayed.Orange don't seem to know what the problem is. I have performed a factory reset, and the problem has not resolved. I am currently waiting to hear back from Orange, as my call was "escalated" to another department. So far I haven't heard anything, but they did say 24 hours... it's been about 23!

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had my BB Curve 8520 for about a year and until recently it's worked perfectly. For about the last month or two, it has stopped synchronising my Outlook Contacts and Calendar. It goes through the process when I plug the handset in but the data does not transfer. It's probably not synchronising other data too but I only use it for calendar/contacts. I've moved from Virgin to Sky as my broadband provider during this period. There was a recent BB upgrade but the problem was there before this took place? I seem to only have an option to sychronise giving priority to either the mobile or the PC or to create duplications if differences are found, none of this is satisfactory as I enter data on both and need true two way synchronisation. I've also noticed that birthdays from Facebook are now appearing on my mobile (not something I want) and appointments are appearing in various different colours.

View 1 Replies View Relatedive had my blackberry 8520 a while now when i 1st got it all the setting blackberry and phone where working then after a few days stoped making and recieving call and same with text every thing else works such as email,instant messaging,internet i am on pay as you go so when my booster ran out i topped up again while the booster takes a couple of hours to come back on the phone service worked again and i could call out and recieve calls the same with text when the booter came back on the phone service not long work and ive been stuck tryin to get help the phone shops dntno they say contact blackberry.

View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter doing a few battery pulls its still not working.I've done some searching now for about an hour and comming up empty handed. I have a friend with an 8520 Curve from I-Wireless. After a couple days of using it his trackpad stopped. Now to me from reading it seem that most problems lie with the 8520 series and also seems that its a software issue as a batt pull will fix it for abit. Will updating to os 5.0 beta fix this problem or does the problem lie elsewhere?

I was on it one day on bbm and it died so when I got home I charged it up then went to turn it on but after 2 seconds of the rebooting screen a battery with a red cross appeared giving me the indication my battery was low I let the rebooting process continue but at about three quarters of the way through it froze, so I pulled the battery out after leaving it too freeze for over an hour and carried on doing that. It didn't work a few weeks later I tried it again it worked but then today it ran out of charge and when I tried to turn it on it does the same thing even know I have 100% charge as my other blackberry (which can only use facebook for some reason) said I had 100% in the status option screen.

When ever I try and access the Internet or click a link, the Browser opens up says "requesting" and then "loading" - the Blue Bar starts to slowly load up at the bottom of the screen - and thats it, nothing else happensthe screen remains blank, the Blue bar loads up and ... nothing.
My Mobile plan allows me Internet 2G acess and I also have Wi-Fi - all of which has been working perfectly for 8 months until now.
Wi-Fi and 2G internet appears to work perfectly for my Twitter app and my Emails come thru fine too.
i have a blackberry torch 9800 and it has worked fine for about a month and then the other day it rebooted itself and since then it has not been recieving signal properly i have checked and it isnt the sim card.
