Curve 8520 has synchronised well with Outlook 2010 that uses hotmail connector. Suddenly stopped working and gave error message "Unable to access local folders. If your Outlook profile uses hotmail connector you must create a local data store (PST) and set it as the default delivery location for the profile"
View 4 RepliesMy BB was synching fine with my desktop and mysteriously stopped. Now after it asks for the password (to my BB) it just sits and spins. The BB shows the computer and BB icons and nothing happens. When I try to exit the program the 'Exiting Blackberry Desktop Software box pops up and it just spins ( when i say spin i refer to the little green circle icon).

It will not synchronize any other contact folders or calendar folders.My droid X and droid Bionic sync any contact folders and calendar folders that are in my corporate account.Why does this work on my android phones but not on my xoom tablet?I know that I can spend money on the touchdown application but why does this work on 1 version of android and not on the honeycomb version?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI can see the folders and they are correctly identified when highlighted however when I click on one it opens as one of the other folders ( always the same one) with that folders contents . I can see message headings but can't open.The only way I can access new messages to these folders is via the Messages Folder which actually shows an alert when an email message arrives (the other folders dont even show the alert)My aol account seems to work fine but the Gmail and other emails dont.

My previous one, when I first bought it, had separate folders for e-mails and SMS/MMS messages, but when I first started using the new one, they have been combined into one folder and I cannot figure out how to separate them. I saw a thread asking a similar question for the Tour 9630, but the answer given for that told to utilize menu options that are not available on my phone. Can anyone help me?

I brought a new Blackberry Curve 8520 recently (PIN No: XXXXXXX) from China from a branded Blackberry Showroom. And OH I almsot forgot Im taking my precious time and the added pain to write this post to get a resolution instead of a diplomatic happy go lucky and irresponsible answer saying that "We are very sorry that feature is yet not available" or "We are sorry to hear that we will do that in near future", I've heard lot of Sorry's and Apologies over this issue, so please don't feel sorry about that if your not really sorry!My problems described step by step:
A) Whenever I receive an email on my Hotmail which is successfully configured on my BB, if there is a filter to sort it into a predefined FOLDER, then BB fails to retrieve that email?
B) Its logical to sort your emails into folders if your getting tons of email and your business relies on that medium of communication?
C) This is a GLOBAL issue faced by every BB user? Oh Yes I already did some research on the BB Support Forums and everywhere else.
D) Since my Blackberry model is 8520 aka. SmartPhone which is an understatement? SmartPhone I mean come on ? Its a Dumb Phone that cant detect Email Folders!
C) I don't want to pile up my other emails by using a solution which youre about to say -> Forward your email to another email address Inbox! Or asking me to upgrade my Hotmail?
D) Gmail works perfectly under this scenario, ie. I also use Gmail thanks to my conscience I can successfully receive all emails even if they are sorted or filtered into Folders!
E) Should we urge to ask Uncle Billy to modify Hotmail so that this work on everyones BB? Sure that would be fun but I think he's too busy!
So, the Answer I can predict with my super powers is -> Either NONE you wont respond at all! or this post might get deleted because of the nature of this issue being over reacted upon or you will say "Sorry we are working on that since our Programmers, Technicians and Engineers goofed up big time, but hopefully we will be able to fix it in the next BB so you should throw this one as soon as a new one arrives and make another Dumb purchase of a Dumb Phone !

When I connect my phone to my computer I can transfer music and pictures to my memory card. But once I disconnect it, I can't get anything i.e. the music folder is empty as well as the picture folder&video folder. I've formatted my memory card, and redid the process and still its the same problem. Taken my phone apart still the same problem. And I've checked and in my settings it says my memory card is inserted even shows how much space I have left etc. I can't even store any pics I take or see them on my phone I can't even rename them cause it tells me that operation isn't allowed on a read only file. I've checked my settings and its setting is everything must be saved to my memory card even changed the amount or size of pics. Even changed the type of pictures that can be taken from super fine to normal.

I can't get a picture but on "Manage Connections" where it says "Mobile Network" it says "On" in green font but then the little symbol next to that is a white horizontal line. (which to the best of my knowledge means that there is no connection) I also know that I am in an area with signal so it's definitly not that.
My Curve 8520 's e button just stopped working, doesnt work no matter how hard you press. Sometimes will get assign speed dial to e or if i'm texting a capital E but it is completely random. Also at the same time when the screen times out it is unresponsive, the screen wont come up until you press any button many many times, found out that holding any button down will also make the screen reappear after a few seconds, also if you turn it off, the power button wont turn it back on, you have to take the battery out to get it on again, otherwise it works fine.

My problems started on Sunday - I was unable to connect to the internet using WiFi or my unlimited access. Since Monday I have discovered that I cannot receive phone calls - it goes straight to voicemail, and any texts / emails / FB notifications I receive are massively delayed.Orange don't seem to know what the problem is. I have performed a factory reset, and the problem has not resolved. I am currently waiting to hear back from Orange, as my call was "escalated" to another department. So far I haven't heard anything, but they did say 24 hours... it's been about 23!

View 9 Replies View RelatedI've had my BB Curve 8520 for about a year and until recently it's worked perfectly. For about the last month or two, it has stopped synchronising my Outlook Contacts and Calendar. It goes through the process when I plug the handset in but the data does not transfer. It's probably not synchronising other data too but I only use it for calendar/contacts. I've moved from Virgin to Sky as my broadband provider during this period. There was a recent BB upgrade but the problem was there before this took place? I seem to only have an option to sychronise giving priority to either the mobile or the PC or to create duplications if differences are found, none of this is satisfactory as I enter data on both and need true two way synchronisation. I've also noticed that birthdays from Facebook are now appearing on my mobile (not something I want) and appointments are appearing in various different colours.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter doing a few battery pulls its still not working.I've done some searching now for about an hour and comming up empty handed. I have a friend with an 8520 Curve from I-Wireless. After a couple days of using it his trackpad stopped. Now to me from reading it seem that most problems lie with the 8520 series and also seems that its a software issue as a batt pull will fix it for abit. Will updating to os 5.0 beta fix this problem or does the problem lie elsewhere?
