I am told that it is possible to synchronize my blackberry calendar with my online work diary, so that my blackberry calendar always remains up to date (when entries are made online). I am trying to achieve this but do not know how. I have a blackberry curve 8520.

View 7 Replies View RelatedFor no apparent reason, whenever I attempt to synchronize, the calendar does not synch with my Lotus Notes (the address book does) and Desktop Manager shuts itself down. I am now getting a dialogue box stating "the default service for your device's calendar has changed since the last time you synchronized." I don't recall changing anything. I have attempted to change the default service from Yahoo (my email comes from this account as work doesn't authorize the Lotus Notes email on the phone) to Lotus Notes and it's not even an option.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm probably the author of my own misfortune here, but I loaded a GPX file with about 4000 waypoints onto my 5230 a few days ago. I got fed up after a while as it made ovimaps run like a complete dog, so I used the "location" app to select all and delete. However, it seems in the meanwhile that it had synchronized all of the landmarks to my ovi.com account. After I did this I noticed I was getting "Download error" every time I opened ovimaps, and I realized that it must be having some problems with synchronizing the phone with ovi.com (its set to do this on startup and closedown).
I viewed the maps there today and could see them, and then spent about 30 minutes deleting each of them manually. Online there are now no landmarks, and there are none on my phone either. However, I cannot now seem to sync ovi.com with my phone (using the menu option under "favorites" in ovimaps 3.04 on the phone).Message I get is "Synchronization incomplete” Is there any way to re-initialize the synchronization? I've tried removing the account from the phone but that didn't seem to work.
When try to synchronize the calendar the Blackberry desk top indicates that the calendar is not loaded, yet it is on the torch.

Nevertheless, I noted that the synchronzation of calendar is unsatisfactory recently. Namely, the recent meeting calendars are synced while some older calendar on my exchange account is missing on my phone. Precisely, the synchronization is not completed. Strangely, some meetings are synchronized, but some won't for a same day. Â
I feel unsecure as I may miss some important meetings because of that. I have tried to remove the exhcnage account and add again, but no luck.

I've had the Curve 8530 for a few weeks now. Up until yesterday the trackpad was working correctly. The problem I am now having is that when I press the trackpad to open a link online nothing happens. I have to open the menu and click on Open Link. The trackpad works correctly in all other places except opening a link online. Is there a trackpad setting that I may have turned off by mistake?

With the new version of Desktop Manager (5.0.1) this option does not appear. Is this no longer available? I have setup a blackberry 8520 using our Blackberry Enterprise Server (BES). The blackberry setup completes without error as does the enterprise activation on the device. Everything works ok on the Blackberry except for the calendar which does not sync across any changes to the outlook desktop. If a change(e.g. new entry) is made on the users outlook desktop it does get synched across to the Blackberry.
If the calendar entry is then deleted on the blackberry it gets synched across to the desktop. The problem is only in one direction e.g. from the Blackberry to the desktop. So far I have removed the user from the BES and restarted the BES. Added the user back in to the BES. Wiped the handheld and run the enterprise activation but the problem still exists. This seems to be an isolated problem as we have approximately 20 Blackberry users using BES and all don't have any issues.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI am currently using a BB Curve 8520. I am experiencing an issue with sharing birthday entries with my BBM Groups. When I add a birthday entry to my phonebook contacts, the phone will prompt you whether or not you will share this date with the BBM Groups Calendar.
If I select NO, the birthday entry will still BE SHARED to your BBM Groups.
So I have to go to the BBM Groups calendar to manually delete the entry created.
I have the Curve 8520 and I use the In The Know theme with the bottom sliding dock. I uninstalled Facebook from my BB but for some reason only calendar appointments that have the "sent with Facebook" at the top show up on my theme's calendar home area.
I want facebook completely GONE from my black berry but there's no calendar option that lets me get rid of the "Facebook calendar" or at least change it so when I make a new appointment it defaults to starting with my email instead of stupid facebook.
I downloaded the desktop manager, and am trying to sync my gmail on my laptop with my BB. When I try to set up the sync preferences, it gives me the options of outlook, yahoo, and ASCII importer. I use gmail, but not outlook. How do I sync these and the calendar as well?

Regardless of whether I add someone else's pin or they try adding mine, the contact is always under pending. Also if I try sending a message to a pin on BBM it does not send, I just get the red cross. So yeah basically I can't add or recieve requests for contacts and I can't send messages either.
