In the older version of the Desktop Manager software, one of the options offered for synchronizing my Blackberry with my computer was Yahoo. With the new version of Desktop Manager (5.0.1) this option does not appear. Is this no longer available? I would rather not change to Microsoft Outlook (there seem to be lots of problems synching with that).
View 9 RepliesI am trying to sync my Yahoo calendar with my Blackberry Bold 9700 via the Blackberry Desktop Manager (version 5.0.1) and am getting the error message "Connection to Yahoo server was lost" when the calendar sync is occurring. The only option on the screen is to press "OK". Once "OK" is pressed, the Blackberry Desktop Manager returns to the synchronization screen. The address book syncs successfully, but the calendar does not. I have tried syncing one way and both ways without success.
A few notes about the environment: I am using the newer version of Yahoo Calendar which I have seen recommended on other postings. I am using standard Yahoo not the small biz version. I have seen this recommended, too.I am connecting my Blackberry Bold 9700 to my laptop via the USB cable that is supplied by Blackberry.
Since this month, I have not been able to sync my BB calendar and contacts with my Yahoo account using the BB desktop manager. The process starts, but it never passes the address book part (it freezes and eventually crashes). I contacted Yahoo and they referred me to their Yahoo Intellisync. Which they don't support. I would switch to Google, but I recently changed my e-mail account; doing so one more time would be bad for business.

My BB is receiving the Yahoo mails but if I delete an email on the BB it still appears in my Yahoo email inbox.Is there full synchronization between BB and Yahoo mail or have I made an error in the set-up? The BB shows the computer and BB icons and nothing happens. 1. I have setup a filter to only synchronize contacts where the category equals Personal or Business.
2. The rules is set to "one of more conditions must be met"
3. In Outlook I have some contacts that are assigned to multiple categories, for example Personal and Family
4. These contacts are not being sync'd to my device
I have installed the software v5.0.1 then I click synchronizing I can't tick the option synchronizing email messages. this has a grey block in front of the option, what should I do?

Nevertheless, I noted that the synchronzation of calendar is unsatisfactory recently. Namely, the recent meeting calendars are synced while some older calendar on my exchange account is missing on my phone. Precisely, the synchronization is not completed. Strangely, some meetings are synchronized, but some won't for a same day. Â
I feel unsecure as I may miss some important meetings because of that. I have tried to remove the exhcnage account and add again, but no luck.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFor no apparent reason, whenever I attempt to synchronize, the calendar does not synch with my Lotus Notes (the address book does) and Desktop Manager shuts itself down. I am now getting a dialogue box stating "the default service for your device's calendar has changed since the last time you synchronized." I don't recall changing anything. I have attempted to change the default service from Yahoo (my email comes from this account as work doesn't authorize the Lotus Notes email on the phone) to Lotus Notes and it's not even an option.

Every time I access the [URL] website and enter my login name and password and submit, I repeatedly get the same page again and again which asks me to verify my password. There seems to be a software error in the Lumia 800. I have contacted the Nokia helpline which was unhelpful as usual. This time, they informed me that this error IS possible while accessing Yahoo email thru the browser and that no solution is possible. The only suggestion they had was to use the synchronization method to access the Yahoo mailbox - but this solution is not feasible for either accessing the older emails and or for sending file attachments.

My memo pad syncs, but not the calendar. I do not have Outlook on my computer, so Yahoo is my only choice of calendar. I spoke to Verizon tech support for 2 hours and we tried everything. My contacts still sync fine, but I will get an error message that says "connection to Yahoo server was lost" when I try to sync the calendar. Both BB and Yahoo have been upgraded and now the sync no longer works. The BB Desktop Manager syncs my Contact List perfectly with Windows Contact list, then reads my BB Torch calendar, then stops syncing with the message " CONNECTION TO YAHOO SERVER WAS LOST".
