My BB was synching fine with my desktop and mysteriously stopped. Now after it asks for the password (to my BB) it just sits and spins. The BB shows the computer and BB icons and nothing happens. When I try to exit the program the 'Exiting Blackberry Desktop Software box pops up and it just spins ( when i say spin i refer to the little green circle icon).

If your Outlook profile uses hotmail connector you must create a local data store (PST) and set it as the default delivery location for the profile"

Now it has frozen when synchronizing, I left it running and after about 20mintues it came up with a conflict problem. I have checked everything that's being synchronized; now I am getting the following error message Synchronization Error "An error has occurred during an attempt to update a device database record."Even how can I get an earlier version of the software which I know that works?

With the new version of Desktop Manager (5.0.1) this option does not appear. Is this no longer available? I would rather not change to Microsoft Outlook (there seem to be lots of problems synching with that).

1. I have setup a filter to only synchronize contacts where the category equals Personal or Business.
2. The rules is set to "one of more conditions must be met"
3. In Outlook I have some contacts that are assigned to multiple categories, for example Personal and Family
4. These contacts are not being sync'd to my device

I am now getting a dialogue box stating "the default service for your device's calendar has changed since the last time you synchronized." I don't recall changing anything. I have attempted to change the default service from Yahoo (my email comes from this account as work doesn't authorize the Lotus Notes email on the phone) to Lotus Notes and it's not even an option.

It doesn't even try to detect my device. The only way I can make it work is to uninstall and reinstall the desktop program. But I'm sick of having to do that everytime I need to sync my phone.

I am trying to sync my BB with my desktop software. I was advised the only way i could get music on my BB was to take the memory card out the phone use an adapter to put music on then put the memory card back in BB.
Surely when i connect my BB to my laptop with the desktop software on it, i should be able to see the music and pictures that are on my phone, or should i not??
I have gone into the options menu on the screen and had a look at my memory, and it is telling me "Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is properly inserted, formatted and not corrupted".
I have also made sure that Mass Storage support is on, along with Media Card Support, but i still cant see anything.
I am told that it is possible to synchronize my blackberry calendar with my online work diary, so that my blackberry calendar always remains up to date (when entries are made online). I am trying to achieve this but do not know how. I have a blackberry curve 8520.

When trying to sync I get a windows error that says BBerry Desktop Software has stopped working.I have uninstalled and installed twice and doesnt clear the problem.Windows does not provide further detail on the issue with the error, it just closes the desktop manager.For other models of BBerry I ready it could be a conflict with the SD media card, but I tried disabling it and I still get the same error.I didnt do any major installs to my laptop, It just suddenly started giving me this error. Although I know 2 days ago Windows 7 did an automated update of installs on the laptop.

I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
A client of ours had upgraded his version of Desktop manager to 6 from 5.something.There is no more link for the Redirector under START - PROGRAMS - BLACKBERRY..The icon for the redirector still shows up in his start menu, however, it says that it's not started.Where can I find the software with the new desktop manager? View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm probably the author of my own misfortune here, but I loaded a GPX file with about 4000 waypoints onto my 5230 a few days ago. I got fed up after a while as it made ovimaps run like a complete dog, so I used the "location" app to select all and delete. However, it seems in the meanwhile that it had synchronized all of the landmarks to my ovi.com account. After I did this I noticed I was getting "Download error" every time I opened ovimaps, and I realized that it must be having some problems with synchronizing the phone with ovi.com (its set to do this on startup and closedown).
I viewed the maps there today and could see them, and then spent about 30 minutes deleting each of them manually. Online there are now no landmarks, and there are none on my phone either. However, I cannot now seem to sync ovi.com with my phone (using the menu option under "favorites" in ovimaps 3.04 on the phone).Message I get is "Synchronization incomplete” Is there any way to re-initialize the synchronization? I've tried removing the account from the phone but that didn't seem to work.
i have a bold 9700 running version 6 - At work i have outlook (it is not a stand alone pc, it is on a network with a server) - i have no problem syncing via a cable but i want to be able to sync wirelessly so any changes i make on outlook calendar or contacts automatically appear on my BB bold and vice versa, no wires.
