BB Curve :: 8520 Wireless Coverage Indicators Signal Show X?
Oct 5, 2011
I have blackberry 8520 I have trouble with wireless coverage indicators signal show x , I been try remove battery and search network manual nothing up on network provider, I had this blackberry 8520 brand new is only 8 months old, get the signal back?
All of the sudden I am no longer receiving emails to my blackberry and I cannot connect to the internet. It says that my connection to the mobile network is turned on, but I am not in a wireless coverage area.
The WiFi and celluar signal icons will occasionally turn grey for a minute, and then go back to blue.I thought that this meant there was a loss of connectivity, however when the icons turn grey I can still connect to the Internet and the signal bars always indicate a strong signal when this happens. I suppose it's possible that connectivity was actually lost for a moment, and it may take the icons a few seconds to update back to the blue color again, hard to say.
I jailbroke my 3G using blackra1n on iOS3 and installed (IIRC BossPrefs although I could be mistaken)I used this to turn on numeric signal strength indicators (for mobile signal and wifi)I then decided to just upgrade straight to official iOS4 when it came out, thinking it would just overwrite any customisations I'd made. However, the signal strength indicators now flick between the official icons and numerical representations.I can only assume the prefs software (if it was Bossprefs) did something to the particular icons, and the official restore only restored some of them?
I've since re jailbroke iOS4 with redsn0w and found out that the prefs program I used is not compatible (it just starts to load then quits). I tried installing SBSettings and enabling and disabling numerical signal strength indicators in that, but it's to no avail.
I used to browse webpages through wifi connection. Recently, I did a security wipe. After that, I can see that my phone connects to our home wifi. But whenever I try to open webpages or apps using wifi, I get an error that says I don't have network coverage/connection. I tried checking wifi settings and all but it seems that everything's normal...
i just got my blackberry a few days back on a plan with vigin media with unlimited internet it was working fine until a few days back where whenever i clicked the browser it would say "there is insufficient network coverage to process your request. please try again." i do not understand why this is happening as it was working a few days back i have tried a few battery pulls but it has still not worked for me. I have even switched my phone on and off and turned all connections of and restored them. I really do not know what to do as i can know longer browse the web or recieve emails. In the top right corner it says "gprs" and even when i have full bars the connection does not work. I have called customer services and they have failed to help me so far any help appreciated..
I set my connection preference to: Wi-Fi Preferred. Recently I notice, every time I leave my office or area with wifi, my network coverage doesn't change to EDGE automatically. Sometimes I get edge, sometimes nothing at all (either "X" or OFF). I've to turn my BB off for few seconds, turn it back on, then I get EDGE. Does anybody know why this happens?
From today afternoon I haven't been receiving emails, I can't use BBM or connect to the internet. Twitter and other apps say there is no network connection. When I try to set up email settings it says that my connection to the mobile network is on, but I am not in a wireless coverage area. I am in my house, and I've never had any problems with wireless coverage until today, so I am not sure what happened. I have already reset the phone several times by removing the battery.
im on o2 with a bb curve 8520 and im trying to update to os5 i dont have a data cable so was looking to update through the wireless update feature.I know this can be done as i have read web pages and seen vids but it doesnt work for me it says no updates available. I spoke to the rubbish cs at 02 who told me it isnt possible to wireless update your os on a bb curve 8520.
Thus the BB Curve 8520 can't detect wireless from laptop? Because I try to share my wi-fi using connectify. It seems the 8520 can't detect but my iPhone can detect it.
My Curve 8520 has stopped getting signal. It just stopped working!
I can't get a picture but on "Manage Connections" where it says "Mobile Network" it says "On" in green font but then the little symbol next to that is a white horizontal line. (which to the best of my knowledge means that there is no connection) I also know that I am in an area with signal so it's definitly not that.
I got a Blackberry Curve 8520. I have for 2 years been with O2 (pay as you go) on it. my screen cracked a few weeks ago, and 2 days ago I replaced the screen. Adding my sim-card (had been using a different phone, whilst the BB was knackered), it shows the signal as X.The simcard works fine (tried it in other phone to make sure). How can I get my phone connected to the O2 network again?
I have a bb curve 8520 on orange, im from the uk and have virgin broadband. i have a dlink wirles router. i can connect to it no problem and get the wifi emblem in white and black showing its connected, i also have my routers name come up so its definatly connected. i have litteraly no signal in my house, either 1 bar or sos, sometimes i will get uma signal, sometimes not, my gf has the same contract and phone as i do, both are orange branded phones and she gets uma signal almost instantly as she steps into the house. why do i not get uma, are my settigns not configured properly? as i really cant send or recieve calls and messages.
I have a problem, my unlocked 8520 is every morning on sos mode. The battery is not drained, the 'edge' reception is ok, just the signal is always lost.
Iv got blackberry 8520 with vodaphone. It suddenly has stopped getting signal most of the time in the house. I know its not sim as sim works fine in other handsets and no prob with handset and service provider say its a blackberry problem so won't help. Iv looked under manage connections and doesn't appear to be option for changing to 3g as service provider suggested.
Cureve 8520 I am tring to turn the wireless sync option under calendar properties from NO to YES, but the option os grayed out,I went to the calendar> clincked on Menue > Options> selected my calendar> and the wireless Sync in NO and grayed out?
My buddy from Colombia gave a 8520 BB purchased by him in Colombia from Movistar where he has his account. I had it unlocked and it works fine with my Tmobile Sim card. The only thing is that it will not pick up WIFI signal to make phone calls. Do I need to change any settings or download software ?
her 8520 is showing 4 unread BBMs which are not there. the little red LED keeps flashing also and will not stop. We have tried rebooting, taking the battery out, turning off and on, starting a new chat and deleting it. But still nothing?
I make a call is just blue, it doesn't show call duration or show the name of who I'm calling or who has called me whilst I'm in the call! When someone calls me it shows the name but as soon as I answer it the screen goes blue again?
I have Verizon. Is there any way to program my contact list to show my number on some outgoing calls but not others? I know where to change the setting to show the number or not, I'm just wondering if I have to change it each time I make a call to a specific contact.
When i go into the Media file, go to ringtones and select my ringtones, it wont show the tones that are on my memory card. It did until i set up desktop manager and then i dont know what i did but they dont show. I know they are there because i did a hard reset and pulled the battery, also removed the media card, when it scanned i saw it show all the ringtones then watched em all come off. how can i fix this to be able to view them?
I have searched around and found many problems faced regarding the email icon showing unread emails but in actual fact there are none. My problem however is the opposite of that - there are unread emails but it is not indicating as such.
This is specifically for Gmail as all my other email accounts are showing unread emails just fine. It is a minor issue but it does get on my nerves trying to figure this out.
Recent activities include upgrading OS to OS5 and changing telco, doubt if these are the cause of it. I have tried deleting and creating the email account and battery pull to no avail.
I just signed up for my Crackberry email address and it works fine (forwarding and all). But, I wanna start using it when I send emails from my Blackberry and when I do it says that they've been sent using my Gmail address instead of Crackberry. I want other people to see my Crackberry email. I've gotten it to work for sending from the Gmail website but not from my Blackberry. Any suggestions on how I'd go about changing my sent address?
While connected to my wireless for data, voice signal strength hovers at 1 bar. I can't find the signal strngth meter in settings to double check this as I write... when I am connected to 3g I typically see 3-4 bars...
My call log only shows the latest call to/from a contact/number. (If I had a missed call from someone, it won't show up after I've called them back). Is there anyway to change that so it will show multiple calls / missed calls from the same number?
