Jul 21, 2010I'm just looking for a reliable app, preferably without a monthy charge, that will simply show me the location of my phone on a map. It doesn't have to be uber-accurate -- the closer the better obviously, but if I know its last-known location in a general sense (a mile or less), it's likely I'll remember where it could have been lost that day.I was looking at taptrace, and some others, but all the ones I've seen got mediocre reviews. iHound looks alright, but I don't like the whole monthly fee thing. Also, I'm not going to sign up for mobile me just to track my phone.

Sep 27, 2011I recently had my Bold 9900 stolen/lost, although I have now purchased a replacement 9900 I want to try and track down my old one as it is not a cheap device. I still have all of the packaging of my first phone so therefore the IMEI / PIN etc. I have reported this to my provider (China Mobile) and I have a new account setup on my new device.I have sent a bbm request to my old phone hoping to get some contact but my joy, I am asking friends who have my old PIN as a bbm contact to try the new 'owner' as well. Is there any way I can find the mobile number of whoever is using my old phone so I can ring them? (I understand it may have been sold on but has only been 3 days since it was stolen/lost) or tracking the device? (I did not have any tracking software on the device at the time it was stolen).

Jun 3, 2010I installed a hybrid OS and everything is working fine! But today I saw something funny on the street that I wanted to record. But when I pulled out my phone I couldn't find my video recorder. sucks! So I've looked in all the folders and its no where to be found. I don't normally record videos but I'm baffled. Does anyone know how I can re install it without having to downgrade my OS? The OS I have is 5.0.0.692 on my Curve 8530.

I still have the same ringtone and text message alert message. I took out the memory card and put it back in and it's still the same. I would like to import only the Contact List contained in that back up data from the stolen device to a new Curve 8520. However I do not see any method to do that other than to "Import Files" to the new Curve from the backup data via Desk Top Manager from PC. However, it appears that the only setting there is on the phone is to completely block browser access, which somewhat defeats the object of getting him a contract that includes unlimited data. I have installed an app that can monitor phone usage, including logging websites visited - this works brilliantly on my Android phone but apparently the website tracker function won't work with Blackberrys. Is there any way of either restricting website access or tracking websites that he has visited (even though he may have already deleted browsing history)?

Aug 24, 2010If anyone out there could lend me a helping hand with this. Well, im not a very heavy BB user but ive never had my batt go dead on me but it happened! i totally couldnt turn my phone on until i put in my charger.Then it happens randomly whereby my phone will heat up and the battery drops 5% every 10mins or so! until it shuts off!! It happened once right after i fully charged my phone and it shut off within the next hour.Anyone knows whats happening?? i suspected whether it was any of my installed apps that are draining my batt, so i shut off everything! i mean no msn no foursquare no twitter only emails are on but yet it still happens!!Help please? i hope its just the batt thats screwed not my phone.
