Phone was sent in to be repaired. restored backup with BB protect. signed into BB ID with no problem. In the uninstalled section apps were missing that were downloaded to the phone prior to being repaired. I was able to update app world and bbm. All of my contacts are gone! What do i do to get my contacts back? What happened to my other apps that were previously downloaded?
I have a Blackberry Curve 8310.I tried to follow the instructions on a similar post and go to my address book to change the contact directions, However I lost my icon for the Address Book for some reason.how to make everything operable again?
my son took out the sim card and put his in to try it. I have put mine back in and have lost all my contacts, can i retrieve them. He also set up Blackberry ID which he forgot the password and it says we only have 1 attempt left (what happens if we get it wrong again?). I think i have reset the password on the computer, will this be updated on the phone?
My husband and I bought Blackberry Curve 8530s last night. We had all our contacts in our blackberrys when we left the store, I was even assigning ring tones to certain people already. I downloaded blackberry for facebook later that night and all my contacts were suddenly gone. I've tried to manually put in contacts, click save, and then no contact shows up. There are no filters checked in the contacts so I know it's not that. Any other ideas?
I recently downloaded a new version of Skype mobile to my blackberry and after restarting all of my contacts disappeared. I can only add one contact to my address book, but it repeats 5 times. I end up with the same name repeated 5 times and when I delete one they all disappear. Attempts to restored address book from back ups using BB Desktop Manager fail loading the address book.
I had a Blackberry Curve 8130. It began to have issues last week, so I did a back-up of the data on it and tried to upgrade the software to see if that would fix it. After a little over 6 hours into the process, the status bar stoped moving on it. It was in the final stages of putting the information back onto my phone. I still have the.ipd file on my laptop, but I do not know how to get the information saved on that file back into my phone. I went today and bought a new Blackberry Bold and the store tried to access my contact information from my old phone to move them to my new phone, but they said they could not recover anything from it. Is there a way to get the information from the saved file back onto my old phone so that I can sync it to my computer and access the contacts information so that I can then add them to my new Blackberry?
My phone was charging the other night during a power failure and in the morning my contacts and BB contacts were gone. These contacts aren't lost as it's my gmail contact list - but I can't get them back on my phone. I've clicked all the buttons to sync, but no luck. I can't manually add a contact and see it either. In the contacts options, it says that I have 288 contacts associated with my gmail account, and when I manually add one, it goes up by another number. But - I can't see them anywhere. Also, I removed the email account and set it up again making sure to click the sync box, took out the battery and SIM card and put it back, and still nothing.
I backed up my phone as I had not done it in a while. Then I synced the phone. I then tried to use my phone and noticed that all my numbers were gone, and they were replaced with contacts from my outlook. I tried to update it again but my contact details still did not show up.
I was connecting my Curve to my laptop to back up my data. During this process it wanted me to upgrade my desktop program and my handheld OS. Once I was finished with the backup and the upgrades and was able to disconnect, I had to rearrange my icons. During this process I noticed that all my SMS messages were not labled with a sender but just the phone number. Noticing this I quickly checked my contacts and there was about 50 out of 250 contacts listed. I have tried to restore from the back and this resulted in even less people listed in my contacts!
My Blackberry Curve 8520 indicated that I must upgrade my bbm to a newer version before I could continue using it. I upgraded my bbm, but now all my contacts are gone! How can I get them back? I'm on Vodacom in South Africa
Made a very big mistake while syncing my Curve 8320 and lost ALL my contacts. I have more than one Blackberry connected onto BB desktop software and mind you that both phones have different contacts on them. I only backed up one of them prior to today and I had the option of syncing all my known contacts from my computer onto whatever phone that would be plugged in turned on. So basically I did not make a backup copy of my Curve 8320 and whatever contacts I have for my other BB has overwritten what was on it. Is there any way to recovery those lost contacts?!
I received an email message from Blackberry inviting me to upgrade my OS to 5.0.0.1, which I did wirelessly. At the end of the process, after the restart, I got a message that said "uncaught exception ....I pulled the battery and tried again a few times, but I kept getting the same message.I Goggled the error message and to my horror found hundreds of listing - most related to corruption errors! However, since my blackberry home screen appeared under the message warning, and it is supposedly a mission critical device and I need to work, I clicked ok and started to use my device again.
All seemed find until I noticed that some of my contacts were missing.Maybe about 10%. I determined that some of these missing contacts had been updated since my last back-up. Others had been on my BB for years.I decided to try and restore the address book from my last back-up.I launched my Desktop Manager 6.0.2 and tethered my Curve.First I backed up the "damaged contact list" as part of a full back up.All went well. Then I went to use a 2 week only back up file, that I made before the OS upgrade. But the address book field was dimmed. There were 4036 entries on the dimmed back up file. I had 4021 on my Curve, but many more than 15 were missing. Regardless, I couldn't restore because:
(Dimmed entries are data types that are read only . . . . )The only solutions to this problem I found via Google related to older OSes and devices and involved deleting service book entries which look nothing like the service book entries I found. Or, is simply a problem related to running a RIM application on a RIM device after an upgrade to one more "advanced" RIM OS from another RIM OS, at RIM's recommendation?
My contacts are gone completly from home screen, and another icon has taken it's place. This happened after deleting two applications I no longer needed and rebooting phone. I did not delete my contacts, but they are gone.
My friend lost his blackberry 8900. He canceled his contract with TMobile so the phone was SOS. The phone was insured but since the contract was canceled they won't honor it. Is there anyway he can retrieve his contacts in the Desktop Manager? He backed it up all of the time Is the contacts in a file on the computer that he can read? thanks in advance. I looked in the loader back up IPD files and all I see is a lot of jibberish. But no contacts.
I lost all of my contacts after i downloaded the 5.0 OS from the forums. How would i be able to get them back without having to manually add them back into my phonebook? I thought it would have automatically saved my numbers to my sim card.
Synced my phone with my gmail account last night and after doing this all my contacts were lost.Im sure this is an easy fix but I am not familiar with the phone. I make sure that the filters were off so its not that.If I go into "options" and go into "contact lists" it has my email address and says that I have "89" entries. But the phone will not display any of my contact entries.
I have noticed that every time I reboot my phone once its back on all my contacts that I have loaded in my phone book since I received my blackberry (not the original phone numbers on my sim) are gone. I lose them every time. Why does that happen? All my contacts are actually missing but I can still save my sim contacts back onto my face but seriously this is annoying and not why I got this phone so I can spend 30 min getting my numbers visible again and also losing all new. I have to now save them on paper.
I downloaded Blackberry Desktop Manager like the BB site said to do and backed up my address book and everything else on my phone. I was going to update my BB Curve 8330 software. I read the directions and followed them and after I backed up and it said the back up was successful I tried to update the software and it said that failed so I restored everything back onto my phone and guess what? Address book is gone! So far that's the only thing I can find that didn't restore but I'm still looking. Is there anything that I can do that I am not techno-savvy enough to have realized or are they just gone? If they're just gone then fine whatever I'm not going to freak out.
After removing and reinstalling my original battery and sim card on my curve 8310, I lost everything including my contacts and calendar. I am devestated and wonder what happened. When the battery was reinstalled and the phone auto restarted, I lost my desktop and knew immediately something bad had happened. It restarted with the original factory settings. I never made any setting changes. The reset happened automatically.
I have a Blackberry Curve 8530 which I was working fine with 250 contacts and 20 memos. I just updated my software to 5.0 1596 and when I was synching my blackberry with my computer I got the following message " The following changes from address book microsoft outlook will be applied t your device data in address book - 233 additions". When I click accept the sync stops and I got an error message - 0x80040fb3 and I only have 4 contacts and no memos.
I bought my bold 9900 last november and back then I connected the phone to the computer and switch from the 9700 that i own previously. Since then I never connected the phone to the computer again until yesterday to update the software. In the middle of my first attempt to update there was a crash so I started again but for my surprise after de update has finished and i reinitiate the handset it seems that almost eveything was wiped out, I had to reinstal all the applications and when the phone was on it came the option the contacts from sim to be installed but then i have some contacts missing and part of the info of some of the ones that still there are also missing, the weird thing is the pictures that i had in the phone are all there.... DO you think theres anyway to get the contacts back? SHould I restore from the backup of the 9700 that i did when i bought the new phone?
Lost my contacts when I click the contacts Icon. My phone still has them housed somewhere because when I get a call or text the phone still shows the contact name. Now when I click the contact Icon it reads Find at the top, Personal and No Contact?
