Lost my contacts when I click the contacts Icon. My phone still has them housed somewhere because when I get a call or text the phone still shows the contact name. Now when I click the contact Icon it reads Find at the top, Personal and No Contact?

My contacts are still there, I can find them by searching but don't have an icon on my home page (or anywhere else) to click on to add new contacts or find old ones. Can anyone advise what I've done? I've tried synching with my laptop but that hasn't brought the icon back, and I've powered off. I backed up to the cloud earlier but am a bit bothered about trying a full restore! Besides, the contacts icon was missing when I last backed up, so it probably wouldn't come back anyway!

I bought my bold 9900 last november and back then I connected the phone to the computer and switch from the 9700 that i own previously. Since then I never connected the phone to the computer again until yesterday to update the software. In the middle of my first attempt to update there was a crash so I started again but for my surprise after de update has finished and i reinitiate the handset it seems that almost eveything was wiped out, I had to reinstal all the applications and when the phone was on it came the option the contacts from sim to be installed but then i have some contacts missing and part of the info of some of the ones that still there are also missing, the weird thing is the pictures that i had in the phone are all there.... DO you think theres anyway to get the contacts back? SHould I restore from the backup of the 9700 that i did when i bought the new phone?

I can search for names in messaging and everyone from my phone contacts, to my facebook friends and even Fearne cotton from twitter is there! I would like just my phone contacts visible in my phone book. I am getting a replacement 8530 for my current 8530 because my trackpad is off centered and recently I am now able to move it around. I called verizon explained everything and their answer "software problem, we're sending you a new one under your warranty" Whatever, its physical not software, but they are sending me out a replacement anyways so I dont care.
However, how do I put stuff on the new one? I use blackberry desktop manager, and click "Backup" and it backs up. When I connect the new one do I just click "Restore"? Also when I back up, the tab for contacts is grayed out and I CANNOT click it. So I wont be able to restore that, why?
I have recently deployed a new BB Pearl 9100 to a user that is attached to a BES server w/ MS Exchange 2003. This is the users first blackberry coming from a Nokia device. They are used to viewing their contacts by typing in the first character of the contacts last name such as "S" for 'John Smith" and all contacts whose last name starts with "S" are displayed.
On the current BB 9100 I can change the sort option on the phone by going to Contacts | Options | Contact Display and Actions | Sort By: Last Name. But when the user searches the contacts and types the letter "S" for 'John Smith' on the Blackberry, the user is shown all contacts that contain the letter "S" (first name, last name, or company). I know that you can type"SMI" to narrow your query but is there a function on the device or a BES policy that can be applied to display/search for contacts in the manner that they are used to?
Hi , I need to display only Sim contacts in phone contacts option rather than contacts that are saved in memory card. According to me knowledge there is a bug in these cell phone perhaps if you have any old nokia phone you may find this option.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI just received a replacement handset. In order to repopulate my PIMs, I downloaded and installed Funambol. It connected and synced my calendar, tasks and notes, but the contacts have become corrupted. I can see them, but I can't access them or remove them.
I tried to remove them with the desktop manager. After a soft reboot, I could remove them, or so I thought, but even if I did a soft restart at this point, when I tried to restore from the backup I made before I got the replacement, I just get an error message saying that the restore failed. When I look, I find the contacts have all reappeared, but are still unusable. I even tried uninstalling Funambol and soft resetting, but the results were the same.
Does anyone know how you copy contact from your phone memory to your sim card?? I have a backup phone which I use sometime when I go out but when I swap the sim cards over the numbers aren't ont here and I end up retyping them all.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSo my Blackberry 8220's screen recently stopped working, but I had a spare Pearl 8100. I installed the Blackberry Desktop Manager and made a back up of my Blackberry Flip. I tried transferring my data from the Flip to the Pearl and also tried using the Flip backup file to restore the Pearl.
After trying both methods, I was able to get my text messages and call log to show up, and some calls I get have the contact name show up instead of the number. However I still have no contacts in my address book.
I am new member of this community and hope that someone here will help me to sort out my problem.I have Backberry Pearl and I have 2520 contacts saved in it. It downloaded my contacts from my hotmail and I went from 100 phone numbers to over 400 numbers/emails. Now I know I should have backed it up at this point, and I was meaning to, honestly, when yesterday it suddenly decided to randomly dump about 350 of my contacts!
So, I got in touch with my friends and asked them to send me their details again. Just by chance I decided to put a little asterisk beside the new contacts - just in case any of the old contacts returned.Well, the today, I checked my phone, only to discover that it had deleted some of the new contacts I had entered yesterday, but at the same time reinstated a handful of the old contacts I lost! Has anyone else had this problem or can shed a light on this for me? I'm a bit worried about this now, I don't want it to keep dumping numbers I need. Do you think its connected with me putting hotmail on my phone? Its deleted a few photos too!
