Synced my phone with my gmail account last night and after doing this all my contacts were lost.Im sure this is an easy fix but I am not familiar with the phone. I make sure that the filters were off so its not that.If I go into "options" and go into "contact lists" it has my email address and says that I have "89" entries.But the phone will not display any of my contact entries.
View 4 RepliesMy husband and I bought Blackberry Curve 8530s last night. We had all our contacts in our blackberrys when we left the store, I was even assigning ring tones to certain people already. I downloaded blackberry for facebook later that night and all my contacts were suddenly gone. I've tried to manually put in contacts, click save, and then no contact shows up. There are no filters checked in the contacts so I know it's not that. Any other ideas?

View 5 Replies View RelatedMade a very big mistake while syncing my Curve 8320 and lost ALL my contacts. I have more than one Blackberry connected onto BB desktop software and mind you that both phones have different contacts on them. I only backed up one of them prior to today and I had the option of syncing all my known contacts from my computer onto whatever phone that would be plugged in turned on. So basically I did not make a backup copy of my Curve 8320 and whatever contacts I have for my other BB has overwritten what was on it. Is there any way to recovery those lost contacts?!

I just updated my software to 5.0 1596 and when I was synching my blackberry with my computer I got the following message " The following changes from address book microsoft outlook will be applied t your device data in address book - 233 additions". When I click accept the sync stops and I got an error message - 0x80040fb3 and I only have 4 contacts and no memos.

I've had my Curve BB for over a month with little to no problems (it stopped 'pushing' to my custom email a couple weeks ago, but I researched and resent the service books, etc. and it worked fine after that). Now, however, it has dropped/removed my two custom email icons. Poof. Gone. One minute they were there, the next, gone. I've already checked to make sure they weren't hidden. They're not. I went into email setting again and it no longer even showed them as having been set up - one of them being my home email that is pushed to my BB and the second being my BB email itself.
I am having problems with the email on my blackberry - every time I reply to an email, I get sent the original email (which I am replying to) to my phone again. Does anyone know how to stop this?

The replacement required a software update but said that the previous phone contacts would synch after the software update. I have since completed a software update during which an error occurred, but the software eventually completed it's update. I now can't find my contacts from the previous phone. Should I restore to the original settings? Are my contacts stored on my Mac somewhere within iTunes?

after I updated to 2.1 all my contacts dissapeared. I understand this is a common problem.
1) How could I have avoided this problem?
2) How can I get my contacts back? They are not in my google contacts.
3) Is there any way to turn off the sync order in Ericsson Sync so that the latest update does NOT overwrite the other. The trouble is that if I am to add all my lost contacts "by hand" in Ericsson Sync, and thereafter delete the few contacts still on my phone, then the deletion is the latest event - and that will overwrite my additions in Ericsson Sync... I am really bothered by this Ericsson Sync - I canīt really se the point of it, have I missed something?
I had 3GS and upgraded to 4S and gave my 3GS to my brother to use. Now my brother changed the phone name and deleted the contacts and as I was syncing on the cloud, his deletions started reflecting mine. Please let me know what do I do to get back all my contacts.

I have a new curve (8530) and my carrier is Verizon. My curve was syncing with my Yahoo calendar in December without any issues. Since January it no longer syncs. My memo pad syncs, but not the calendar. I do not have Outlook on my computer, so Yahoo is my only choice of calendar. I spoke to Verizon tech support for 2 hours and we tried everything. I uninstalled and reinstalled Desktop manager, but that didn't help either.

I'm trying to set up to sync to Outlook (calendar, contacts, memos, tasks), but Outlook doesn't appear as an option to sync to for any of these. The only options are ASCII Import/Export and Yahoo. I have Outlook 2007, and my old BB Pearl had no problems sync'ing to this program. I thought maybe Outlook would show up under Add-In Modules, but it doesn't.

Desktop Manager can find my BB - and it says it's working & connected, but when I launch Media Sync, after 3 mins of searching, it says "Please connect a BB device".
I have tried without launching DTM - i.e. launching Media Sync on its own.
I have tried all variations of restarts, of both BB and laptop AND removing the battery at all sorts of stages in the process. No joy.
I don't see a drive on Windows Explorer with my BB however.
I'm running Windows Vista, SP1.

Extra history:
1) I downloaded Desktop Manager from the CD and then updated it automatically.
2) I then followed some detailed instructions from this forum elsewhere and totally removed every trace of it (including regedit entries).
3) I downloaded a clean copy of the latest DTM from BB website
4) I then updated the Curve OS software - now on version 5.01 (and yes, like everyone I prefered the old style of key locking!)
5) I also replaced the USB cable since that seemed to provoke a constant cycle of reboots on my BB - this was an earlier problem that a different cable fixed, but that's another story!
I have repeatedly downloaded media sync, and I cannot transfer pictures off of my girlfriend's 8530 curve? Anyone else experience this? If so, how did you get around it?Since all the documentation is for the PC, I'm thinking RIM is trying to pull a fast one on Mac users.

I have a PC, iPhone and iPad on which contacts, reminders and calendar are turned on in iCloud.
Everything used to work fine. I missed a meeting on Thursday because it did not snych into me iPhone. I noticed contact changes were not synching. I turned of Contact Synching on the iPhone, selected keep contact on iPhone.
All contacts were erased on the iPhone. Turned synch back on and nothing downloads to the iPhone I checked iCloud on the web and the contacts are there.

How to sync or rather resync facebook contacts back to your XPRT's contact list if lost. My son deleted my contacts and when I restored them from online back ups I noticed my facebooks were not there. Trying to remove the account to resync would not work. I received an error with each attempt. Like many users I use the Facebook app from Google's market. Even when I would force close the app it would still not remove my face book account. You cannot resync unless you remove the account. Open the facebook app and simply sign out of the app. do not close it but sign out by hitting the menu icon to the left of your home button on the touch scene. This will allow you to remove the Facebook account. It will warn you on sign out that all your Facebook data on your phone will be lost if you sign out. That is okay as soon as you log in and resync and reopen the app it will all come back.
Once you have logged out remove your account by going to My Accounts in the app drawer or from your phones settings through the menu button. Resettling your phone is not necessary but can be done at this point if you wish. Either way after this point you must add your facebook account back by going back to My Accounts. Once you add the email and password and it goes back to your accounts screen you will see two (2) facebook accounts. Click one and if it pulls up a blue and white screen to log into the facebook app stop. Hit the back button and click the other facebook account. The one you want will have a black Motorola XPRT system windows that says "sync contacts" just hit that sync button and it should as long as facebook and your MOTOBLUR app on facebook are both working resync you contacts adding them to your phones contacts.
My contacts are there. But when a person calls there name does not show up there number just show. Then once im done with the call there name shows in the call log.

All my files seem to have downloaded except the contacts.I get an error message stating something to the effect that my files are set for/to a wireless and will not transfer. I am new to all this so. View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got my Blackberry and I am having trouble with the Mass Storage.The Media Sync will not recognize the memory card at all. Win 7 does not recognize the card when I first plugged in my phone by USB cable the install driver fails. This failing has happened on 3 computer 2 win 7 and one XP.
I have done the normal things like battery pulls and deleting the driver and letting it reinstall reboots and reinstall programs. I also have the most current programs off the website.I also have tried putting the SD card in the slot on my laptop (3 different cards in an adapter) and none are able to transfer files without lagging into never never land.Everything else seems to work just fine. But I would like to be able to transfer photos and music and at this rate I can't transfer them at all.
When setting up the desktop software to sync with BB, a stage is reached asking for a source to be selected (Yahoo / Outlook / none / etc). As I am working with Outlook only, if I could I would select this for each, but it only appears as an option for 'Contacts'. For some reason Outlook is not offered as an option for either calendar or tasks. What is more odd is that I have successfully used the same BB and PC in the past with the Desktop software, but for some reason it just stopped working. I have tried removing and reinstalling both v5 and v6 without success. I suspect the problem might be the phone rather than the software - but heh, what do I know!
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have Blackberry 8520. earlier I was using Nokia E 90.I transferred my contacts from Nokia to CSV file and got them coverted to .ipd file using Amber vCard onverter. I restored the .ipd file into my Black berry using Desktop Manager.The software shows 784 contacts and that is same as it was in my E 90.
However when I select contacts in my Blackberry I dont see them. However Desktop manager shows 784 contacts.Please tell how do I see these contacts in my Black berry.
They aren't exact duplicates, but all of my contacts are mixed up. Like two phone numbers from two different contacts under ONE new contact, while still keeping the other two. I had 204 contacts, and now my phoen says I have 670. WTF. Desktop manager let me replace the addresses with the one from my previous backup, but now it won't let me do it again. HELP.
