View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm on ATT network. Got home and placed cell on holder and popup with new update appeared. Said it would take the usual hour so I began doing some work while it upgraded. 2hours passed and the bar froze on the main checkup screen 90% of the way yet the phone came on and went through the general functions it always does. couldn't wait another hour---removed cell and began to attempt to get setting back to normal. Everything works except BB Protect. Keeps saying service temp unavailable. Did anyone else have this problem today? Is it really a temp service update or am I gonna have to wipe this thing (again).

View 3 Replies View RelatedI entered my email on the BlackBerry Protect password retrieval webpage in order to reset my password, but I have not yet received an email and it's been over 12 hours now!!!
My BB has been playing up for the last 4 months (i've only had it for 10 months!!), and in the last week I noticed that whenever I use email, messenger, and texts all my letter 'i's are missing the dots above them. This is preventing me from sending emails as the letter is not recognised. So I figured I would backup and restore my BB to 2 weeks prior.
I can't backup to an earlier date without signing in, but as I said earlier I don't remember my password, and still no email with my password has been emailed to me!
I updated my Torch to the new OS ( 6.0.0.723) as usual all the apps were deleted after updating the OS. View 14 Replies View RelatediPhone gets stolen, thief takes out SIM card to prevent remote wipe (not sure that would even help), thief jailbreaks iPhone and accesses entire file system via SSH.I thought this was ironic, but would it help if people jailbreak their iPhones and change the root password to prevent a hacker from doing this first? My company is thinking of deploying iPhones and from all the articles I've read, the iPhone's security can be bypassed in comparison to the Blackberry just by having a paper clip. Not sure if anyone has ever given it too much thought but maybe we can start a discussion on how to protect the data on your iPhone in case it gets lost or stolen.Anyone else worried?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI recently installed BlackBerry Protect on my phone. I think it's a great app, with tons of potential to be useful. The only thing I'm a little unsure about is that in order for it to work properly on my Bold 9900 I had to disable encryption. The question I have, which I hope someone out there can answer: is that a big deal/ is it a smart tradeoff? I don't know that much about encryption, but it sounds like something I would like to have (Can you ever have to much security in a handheld?)
