Last week I purchased the new Torch 9810, a couple of days of use the trackpad started malfunctioning and well...for the first time in many years I received a defective device, yesterday I managed to change it for a new one without any problems.
As soon as I got home, I did the device switch operation with my BB desktop software without any problems too, but today I noticed something was diferent, I don't have or find anywhere in my phone the OS 7 digital compass. I know it's no big deal, but it was a nice app and would really like to install it on my new BB. I have surfed among the web and apps world and all I find are compasses for purchase, and it came free in this BB device.
where can I recover my free digital compass for BB OS 7?
My daughter has bought today a new Torch 9810. She has entered a new device password. After a few hours she tried to enter her password, but she forgot her password.
After a read of some internet groups, the solution is simple, just type 10 times your password and the BB will restart. I know that all data will be removed, but that is no issue.
Unfortunately the BB will not restart after I retype for then times the wrong password After the reset it starting with a White screen, with a sort of document icon. Within this document icon, appear a lock and cross sign, beneath this icon there is a counter with is repeatedly showing from 0 till 100% and then start over again.
I've tried to disconnect the battery for at least 1 minute, Put in a different sim card, let it run for almost one hour, but nothing seems to work.
After saving all photos from my Bold 9000 to my PC, I would now like to delete them all (100+) before I switch to a new device. Is there any way to do that, besides the one-by-one tedious delete process on the device?
I found this out last night, I think from some BB Tip site, if you are in an app and usually you have to push BB Menu button and scroll up to Switch Application. Try this hold down the BB Menu and it auto goes to the same place as Swith Application.
Yesterday I did a device OS update to the latest version. I seem to have lost some of my apps. Most importantly i have lost my 'Password Safe'. how I can get it back?
I have already installed the new Desktop Manager 6.0 that I downloaded from the RIM site.
I am thinking the safest way to not have a problem is the just restore my 9800 data from a back up rather than do the Switch Device thing. Anyone worried it might bring erroneous crap into the new 6.0 OS.
Maybe it would be better to redo my settings after the data install to make sure all is clean and working correctly. Some of the 5.0 setting would not be applicable to the new 6.0 software.
Last week I did a device software update, I am currently running OS 6.0, Bundle 2949. First of all, my Twitter and Facebook Apps were downgraded to versions from when I was still using my BB Bold. More annoyingly, I lost some languages on my device. I had Spanish, French, Italian, German, English and Dutch. Since the update I have Russian, Greek, Dutch and English (US and UK), but I cannot add or delete any of these through desktop manager.
I tried deleting and adding in the same update sequence. I tried deleting only, then I tried adding only, and every time I get an error saying the action (or update) "could not be validated due to unsatisfied dependencies." So then I tried deleting a regular app, thinking maybe there was an "unsatisfied dependency" in an app. Same error, and nothing happened. And the same again with a different app.
When updateed software I lost all my purchased apps frm bbm app world niw app world has no history of any of my downloads or apps how to get this straighten out?
I have just upgraded from Bold 9000 to Torch 9810. I think BlackBerries are superb but . there are quite a few basic apps I had on my Bold, which show as 'unavailable for this device' in App World when I try and get them for my Torch 9810. A good example is the MobileMoney mobile banking app, and also the NatWest mobile banking app. When I tried to get the BB Feedback App, so I could request BB do something about it, the Feedback App itself was 'unavailable for this device' Is it just because the 9810 is such a new device and BB are working hard to get all the Apps available - or do they just not really care about Apps availability at all ?
I updated the firmware of my iPhone 3GS to iOS 5.1 yesterday. After the update, I noticed that I have lost all of my contacts on the phone, so I plugged it back in to the computer and went with "Restore from backup", which was dated just a few hours prior to updating the firmware.
After it finished restoring, my contacts were all back but half of my apps are missing. I tried redownloading from the App Store as well as syncing from the computer, but the data (game saves, etc) are still missing. How do I get them back?
My xperia neo has lost ability to switch cameras from the back to front facing. When I go in to camera menu the opposition to pick front or back camera is not there. I've done all the resetting that can be done.

AFTER A MONTH WITH THE 9700 I JUST RAN THE SWITCH DEVICE WIZARD TO PORT SOME APPS AND SUCH FROM CURVE 8310.NOW EVERYTHING ON THE 9700 LOOKS LIKE THE 8310 AND I LOST ALL MY SMS/E-MAILS/ETC BUT THE APPS HAVE ALL SWITCHED OVER(EVEN THE THEME IS NOW FROM THE 8310)I THOUGHT I HAD A HANDLE ON THIS BUT APPARENTLY DO NOT - RAN THE SWITCH BACK WIZARD ONLY TO BE IN THE SAME BOAT AS BEFORE.HOW BAD IS THIS AM I COMPLETELY UNABLE TO RESTORE MY ORIGINAL 9700 SETTINGS?
I used the Device Switch Wizard in the Desktop Manager to switch from my old Bold 9000 from AT&T to a new Bold 9650 from Sprint but guess what... I had already started using the new Bold and when I did the 'Device Switch' thing, it wiped all the data I had saved in the new one. So now I have the text messages I wanted to save from the old one but lost everything (and I mean everything) else. Is there any way to reverse the operation?I still have the Desktop Manager open and both phones connected. I am scared to disconnect or turn off my computer just in case.
So I had to replace my phone. I did a device switch using BB desktop. My BBID will not work. It will not even accept my ID as valid. This happened the last time I broke my phone too. I was not able to restore my ID then either and had to make a new one. I don't want to do that again. I'd acatually like to recover both so I can get all the apps I have paid for back...
Actually none of my emails work... they did when I first activated the phone, now nothing. Texts work but not any Email.
I'm switching from an 8800 to the 9700. When I connected the 8800, whatever it did took a few minutes (it has you connect the old device). Then I connected the 9700 as it asked me to, and that was at least an hour and 15 minutes ago. It says "Task in progress", and on the progress bar it has not moved a millimeter. Like, nothing. I have maybe 30-40 contacts and no extra software, and 3 messenger contacts.
I switched to new Bold 9900, need to switch my blackberry email address from old device to new 9900, No problem switching my non blackberry email address. It will not let me reload my previous blackberry address, wants to add a 1, 2, or a 3 to my name. I guess I need to ell the Blackberry server my new device.
Just did a device switch from Torch 9800 to Bold 9900, everything went smooth except that, now homescreen icons show only 4 icons in a row instead of 6.
Switching between apps is something I do a lot. I double tap the home button and then select the app that's one before last many times. Is there a way to do this much faster?
Maybe some way to use two fingers to flip between these 2 apps? It would be a huge productivity boost for me.
I use the Device Switch wizard to move and update file when I was going to change BB to a newer one. I went from a 7290 to a 8320 and when I went to use the 8320 it stared throughting multiple Uncaught Excaption: ApplicationRegistery.waitfor and Java.Lang.Error. The phone does not like to talk to the computer throuht the usb hook-up link to sync. This Phone is not going to be used for internet access through my Cellular service, wich is AT@T. The Phone was bought unlocked because I use the office features and I want to use the WI/Fi.The Phone was origionally a TMobile. The opperating System on the phone is : v4.5.0.37 Platform 2.7.0.55 The origonal Desktop softwear used was version 4.6 I believe, I now have Version 5.0 installed. I do not hve the origional software disk for the phone. I have gone through several blogs and found some problem that were close but wanted to make sure I didnt blast the phone. I would like to get this phone to function correctly so I can keep my work straight.

Like many have done, I've got a replacement S2 on its way to me and have to consider how to treat it when it get here. Are there any known memory resource issues or corrupt files issues when using Device Switch Wizard within Desktop Mgr? I could certainly build it up from scratch, but the Switcher could make life easier, if it doesn't bring its own unique set of problems with its use.Any insights from those who have used both methods on the same model device?
So I'm running Camera Zoom FX on a stock, debloated, rooted rom. It takes pics fine. However when I try to switch to video mode, it says "video switch not supported on this device"
Is there a fix for this? If not, whats another good camera app tha does actually support video.
I have smart switch installed on my pc with windows 10 and i try to backup data from my g920f running latest 6.0.1.
Smart Switch is stuck at "To complete the backup using Smart Switch you need to temporarily allow some permissions. Allow the permissions on the connected device"... There's no prompt on my phone.
I tried all kinds of reconnecting, restarting but still this dialogue.
My wife's Galaxy S6 is only a 4 months old and for the last 2 months she has been dealing with this issue of her phone just randomly switching between apps and programs. For example her phone will just be sitting on the table and we hear a clicking noise (the same noise like when you text) so I look we look at phone and it's switching between messages, pandora, phone list etc. there is not set of apps/programs it chooses them at random. I tried shutting down some apps and no good. I called AT&T and they had me do a factory reset of the phone, no good.
Took it to the store and they sent us to the service center for replacement. But when we got there they said there is water damage to the phone so we are SOL. She works at a hospital and when she comes home, all she does is wipe down the phone with a baby wipe and that's it. I tried to explain to them I understand where they are coming from but this is clearly a software issue. They are refusing. I told them I work in the IT field and again it's clearly software issue or a lemon device, but they are hanging their hats on water damage of course.
So my question to you all, is there some way to roll back the software or to jailbreak it to fix this issue?
