Nokia :: When Try To Do A Backup / Update Software Says : USB Connection To Device Is Lost
Aug 31, 2010
I have recently bought a Nokia 5230 (v 20.0.005) and I have tried to connect it to Ovi Suite. No problems using Bluetooth. However using Micro USB cable when I try to do a Backup or Update the software (problem is also on Nokia Software Updater) it says that the USB connection to the Device is lost and everything fails.I am using Windows 7 64bit (cable is a Standard USB cable)
I just received a N8 and wanted to totally update everything. When it was doing the "N8 firmware update" it suddenly stopped, saying the connection to the phone was lost.
Got today SMS to update the X6 SW (in Finland), and so I did, probably shouldn't have done it. After the update, phone is not anymore recognized by Ovi player. Ovi Suite connection is ok. Comes with Music is now useless, as I can't transfer the music to my X6. SW version is 20.0.005, date 23-3-2010. "Modified" version 20.0.005.226.01 dated 15-4-2010. Language package 03. X6-00. Type RM-559. Last update 14:38. Please HELP ! I have changeg the USB connection method, restarted PC several times as well the phone, nothing is working. Earlier these type of issues, which seems to be typical for X6, have been recovered by restarting either or both PC and X6.
I had a Software Update on my X6. Started downloading it on a poor wi-fi connection. Connection was lost half way through and now I can not finish update.
Is it actually possible to track iPhone without internet connection? I mean, the iPhone which I am tracking has no internet connection... (Example, has been lost in a foreign country and the roaming data is not On) Anyone has an idea how to do the tracking?
Today I went to update my X10. While at work it wouldn't allow me to as it insisted I connected it to a computer. So at home I got the USB cabled hooked up to my Linux Laptop and then discovered it had to be a windows computer.Anyway, I got it hooked to a Windows computer and the update process began. I followed every instruction and set all tickboxes for backup. After unplugging this and plugging it back in and rebooting here and there, it finally reached the restore process.I left it restoring for a while. When I came back to it, it said something had crashed. I don't know what as I'd just woken from a nap. But, it seems all my applications are restored. Yet my gmail account & Facebook account have become disassociated from my phone and all my contacts no longer have any names or pictures. I opened the contacts/phone book and the list is completely empty. tried to import contacts but it says it cannot find any anywhere.
I have recently updated my device software. I did not backup anything because I did not have any warning from maker to do so. I lost extremely important text messages, phone numbers, my calendar information. Is there any chance on this world to retrieve now all of them?
My original computer died, and I don't have a phyical back up of my data. If I try to sync the device to a new computer will I lose everything currently on my phone? If so, is there a way around this?
Yesterday I did a device OS update to the latest version. I seem to have lost some of my apps. Most importantly i have lost my 'Password Safe'. how I can get it back?
I have a Blackberry Curve 8520, firstly. I simply wanted to transfer some pictures to my laptop, and then I see something about an update for the Desktop Manager. There also happened to be the update to version 5. ow silly me, I didn't make a back-up as I didn't know that this update would remove all my info. I assumed it was just the applications (which I can install again) but I realized I've lost all my BB contacts. (Of course I didn't back up that info either. What I want to know is because I've registered before, shouldn't my info still show up in my contacts' lists? Isn't there a way for me to restore my contacts without adding them all over again? And can't they still msg me?
I've got some kind of problem connecting my phone to the computer through usb cable. Ovi suit starts up alright as I plug in the phone and my device is shown in the lower left corner. But whenever I tried to synchronise anything I was asked to change my phone settings to pc suit connection, even if that was already running. And whenever I tried to backup the phone I was told that the connection had cut off and that I should reconnect the usb cable.
I've tried all the usb ports and the same things happen all the time, so I don't think the problem lies there. Instead I assumed this was a program bug of some kind and used a wlan connection to get an upgrade of the software. Then synchronizing worked fine, but I still can't backup the phone. I don't have a bluetooth connection on the computer.
did anyone else have a problem with your email account after updating your Bold device software? I just update to version 6.0 Bundle 2949 and I am not receiving any Email and the software does not allow me to access the Email setup! I tried already to restore the phone setup using the restore function of Blackberry Desktop but without succes!
I recently replaced my n85 as it was malfunctioning. I backed up the phone memory to SD card. On restoring this to my new phone, the contacts doesn't seem to have been restored. On entering the phone book, it says "contacts from selected memories not available". It seems strange as, upon receiving calls/messages, my phone knows who they are from (ie. the name of the contact comes up rather than the number). It seems the contacts are somewhere in the phone but it just won'r let me see them.
It may sound trivial to some but one of my favorite BB functions was lost during the recent update and I can't seem to find how to restore it. I used to have the keyboard lock function assigned to the left side convenience key. This was really essentail for me to have and now it is not available for me to assign when I try to assign something for the left side convenience key. I know the Tour has the option on the top of the phone to lock it but even when this is pushed, it will still unlock in my bag. How can I restore this option?
I just wanted to back up my address book contacts from my Nokia 6300, using Nokia PC Suite. Unfortunately, the backup process stopped before completing, backing up only 13 contacts. Then, it synchronized these 13 contacts back to my cellphone, deleting all other 400 contacts on the phone.
Do you have any idea on how i can recover those lost contacts? I have already checked the Nokia PC Suite backup file using Noki software, however it also only shows 13 contacts. Also checked the PCCSContact file in the application data folder with SQLite3 Manager. However, it doesnt show any more contacts either. Any chance I can access the contacts on the mobile phone storage card?

My nokia c6-00 just lost all my Access points for connection (Connectivity -> Destinations:/ ) I used to have Access points from my supplier, But I no longer do. And now I can't connect to internet. What can I do to bring them back?
Yesterday the software update Nokia Belle for C7 was approved for my region. I installed it instantly by following the instructions. After the update my device worked well, but I noticed some things that may point to a software problem on the device. I decided to reinstall it. I followed the instructions, the Nokia Suite checked and found the installation file on my PC and the reinstallation began normally. A backup was made of my contacts and other stuff, then the installation began.
Not long after that the Suit says that the connection to my device is lost (not a windows warning). It suggested several things to do to continue, but it couldn't. Currently my C7 is not working. I tried to remove and put back the battery & recharge it but still can't start the phone. When I plug it to my PC via USB, I hear the windows sound for USB device connected and disconnected after that. The only living sign of my device is the little white light, next to the USB port, which is blinking when I plug the charger and try turn the phone On.
suddenly my nokia 5800 is saying connection to wlan network lost when am on the internet using my wifi at home. It only did this rarely before but today its every 30 seconds to 1 minute (basically its impossible to load up anything....
I tried to update my maps definition by checking on Ovi Suite on my PC via USB. Some updated maps were available, but during the update, I've lost the connection with USB. From now, there is no "cities" folder on E: and Ovi Suite can't upload new maps. So I have Ovi maps working but without any Maps ! It says my memory card is full, but there is 28Go available!
I'm trying to install "Belle" on my N8 during the installation process I get the message that connection with the phone as been lost! Error code 12052 is displayed My phone is product code 059c5q8 A folder is created with the name of Nokia_Belle?
I'm getting a "Network connection lost" error shortly after the installation of a downloaded app is started. The status bar gets to about 15% and then the installation is interrupted. I've tried using WiFi and non-WiFi connections, but the result remains the same. My N8-00 was upgraded to the Belle OS over the weekend and it caused most of the apps to be uninstalled. Now I'm trying to get them back but fail to do so because of the error.
When I connect my 5230 to my laptop via the usb, the laptop thinks "device not recognized", do I need to change my laptop settings or phone setting ? Try not to blind me with science.
Since I've had success on my last query I have another now. I have a Vodafone VBH-600, aka 6xx plantronics bluetooth headset and I cannot get it to pair with the 5230-"device not found" is all I get. Is it not compatible or like last problem is there just a simple solution?
I'm base in Sydney Australia and have just received a msg from Nokia that I can update my firmware for my N900.(firmware version 10.2010.19.)The problem is that I receive a message that I could not update because of: poor-quality ,slow or intermittent internet connection. This could also be because of problems with our servers. Is it that NSU does not support N900 and if so why would Nokia sell a phone and not provide software to update the phone with.
I now go to the my world section of appworld and it says no downloads. I am very unhappy about that. Thankfully I was able to find most of the apps I downloaded in the download folder, but one of them reset and I don't have the activation code or the record that I bought that particular app since my world has no record of it.
