When I connect my 5230 to my laptop via the usb, the laptop thinks "device not recognized", do I need to change my laptop settings or phone setting ? Try not to blind me with science.
View 12 RepliesSince I've had success on my last query I have another now. I have a Vodafone VBH-600, aka 6xx plantronics bluetooth headset and I cannot get it to pair with the 5230-"device not found" is all I get. Is it not compatible or like last problem is there just a simple solution?

First problem:Updating my device;When I try to update my device, it hangs for a few seconds on 'connecting', then I get a connection error. I can connect to the net easy enough, but not update my device.
Second problem.Installing Ebuddy;I've downloaded the popular social networking application to my phone, but when it comes to installing it, i get the error message saying "CONNECTION FAILED! Your internet settings must be activated for Java applications, or try again later.
I have a US TMO 5230, got a "Generic" 32gb MicroSDHC for it. Looks like an Adata or Kingston except for the lack of logo.When I installed it out of the package the phone said the card was corrupted, so I reformatted on PC.Took it out of PC, put it in the phone, phone said the card was unformatted, and gave me the option of formatting it.Ran the phone's formatting option , and the card is not recognized on the phone or the PC.when installed in the phone and I go to "memory" in the filemanager, the cardslot shows as empty, no card in place. when I put the card into the slot on my notebook, it doesn't even recognize the mSDcard.does this mean the card is defective.

I'll be going away to (very) foreign parts next month, so I'd like to use the N900 as a tethered modem for my netbook. However when I connect the phone to the netbook via the USB cable, and choose the "PC suite" option, the phone is recognised when I use lsusb in a terminal, but the modem *is not*. Is there something in the phone settings I need to tweak, or an extra app I need to install in the phone, or is it a more fundamental flaw? Google searches for "Nokia N900" + modem + linux give pages which suggest that it should "just work", but it doesn't
If all else fails, I may have to fall back to using my previous phone (a Sony Ericsson v630i), which I *have* used successfully as a tethered modem, but I'd prefer to keep using the N900...
I found that even if I set Ovi maps to "offline", it still sends and receives packet data while the gps is in use. I started a route and after stopping it, I checked the "Log' and I can see more data send and received recorded. I do not have a data plan and would like to know if I am incurring charges in this case. I have a-gps and gps set, so I'm guessing these packets might be due to a-gps? Without a-gps and with gps alone the performance will be pretty bad, right? I have t-mobo and nokia 5230.

How can I make sure my phone does not try to use the GPRS connection?I noticed in the GPS settings that A-GPS is used. Does that use an internet connection?

After I powerup the phone, in about 30 seconds it starts connecting to internet without having any application running. View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen an audio device is connected to my car audio, the symbol ♪ appears, telling me that not only a PHONE device is connected, but also an audio device, so that I can make calls and also listen to music (in 2 different sources: one for calls (BT Phone channel)and other for mp3 (BT Audio device) < this one with a real good audio).
I connected my nokia c3 to this car audio but it wasnt recognized as an audio device, only as a phone and the symbol ♪ didn't appear. That is, I CAN play songs, but the audio quality is horrible, trashy, as if it was a phone call (cuz it will use the bt phone source, not the bta device). But when i connect any other phone, the audio plays normally.
I got the c3 connected to my PC and it was also recognized as a phone (and also a modem) BUT NOT as an audio device.
I'm trying to use my phone using a car-kit CK3100. Devices are recognizing each other but the problem is that cannot stay connected more than 5-6 seconds. After connection they are disconnecting and so on. What can be the problem? Did somebody else experience a similar problem?

With this connection I could not use the maps option since I am getting 'no connection' reply. When I contacted the cc of Aircel the asked me to send one sms "GPRS BP NOK 5230". If I send this sms I am immediately getting a reply message stating that "Your request could not be complied since your hand set is not compatible for GPRS setting". Pl clarify whether it is true that 5230 is not a compatible hand set for GPRS or tell me how to get Gprs activated to my hand set.

I've tried changing the following: Settings -> Connectivity -> Admin Settings -> Packet Data -> When Needed / When Available but this doesn't make a difference. And within minutes of going through Settings -> Connectivity -> Connection Manager. The WAP has reconnected.

I use my phone a real lot for music and the earbuds that come w. the Nuron are cheesy sounding and cheaply made.i thought this device would work fine w. standard earbuds.I;ve tried diff settings.the sound is muted and garbled until I press the speaker button and keep it held and then it sounds great obviously this isnt an option.what gives? does this phone require some proprietary earbuds? if so, that is really lame IMO.

This resulted in me getting a new bbm pin etc. I was told that this would work fine, and that I would still be able to use bbm and my wireless internet (such as bbm, twitter, facebook etc) When I called o2 to have my blackberry services reactivated, they told me that "the device cannot be recognized" Now I'm wondering what else I can do. I have iPhone 4, when I plug it in my computer, it says" USB Device Not Recognized" and nothing happens. iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes. But it charges. Everything was okay all time before and I have no idea what happened. Just once I plugged it in and and computer didn't recognize the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have this old 9700 I got from a friend that he says is bricked. I took a look at it and when I put a battery on it, it blinks twice, pause and blinks twice again. It does that and never loads. So I thought, this would be an easy fix. I would just reload the OS and it's good to go. But I was wrong.First thing I did is I went and installed an OS6 (.650) and tried the loader.exe but when I click on Next, it does't recognize a PIN, it says USB-PIN: UNKNOWN. I clicked on next nevertheless and tried to reload the OS but then it won't go past the Loading JVM step which is the second step I guess, being 'Erasing Applications' as the first one. I left it for a couple of hours and it still won't load the OS.Next thing I did is tried to wipe the phone using BBSAK, CrackUtil and JL_Cmder. With the CrackUtil, it says 'Phone not connected' while the JL_Cmder won't let me wipe it. It just keeps on going back to the Menu after I've typed 'blackberry'. The BBSAK won't recognize the phone either.I tried using Desktop Manager as well. It can see that the phone is a 9700 but on the PIN, it says 0.One more thing I noticed, when I put on the battery, the red blinks but when I take off the battery and just plug the USB cord, it won't do anything. My computer will do something (makes a sound and 'recognize' the device in a way) ONLY if I have the battery put on before I put the USB cord on. If it's the USB cord alone, without the battery, it stays dead. Which is weird since in my experience, my computer always recognize BlackBerry devices whether a battery is present or not when you plug the USB cord.Oh and BTW, now my computer doesn't read my phone anymore, whether I put the battery in or not. The phone keeps blinking though, when I have the battery on. Blinks twice, pause and do it all over again.

I've tried both the front and rear ports, no difference.I have the Samsung driver v14.0.0.162 installed (did not plug in cable during install).I downloaded both Samsung PC Studio 3.2.3 and PC Studio 7.2.24.9. The applications work fine, but won't connect because of the Device Not Recognized issue. The phone sees USB power and begins charging when connected. I have it turned on and at the main "idle" screen. Does the phone have to be in a certain mode to connect? Not familiar with how to do this. I'm running XP Pro on the PC.

I had the problem of iTunes not recognising the iPhone on MOST occasions when I start it. Sometimes it would sometimes it wouldn't. This has been going on for 4 months. After running through all the tips on the web, from apple and everyone else i finally discovered I was low on Disk Space (I tried to copy the iTunes backup files to another location to protect them and they wouldn't fit). So I cleaned out my hard disk and everything worked.
