I've started to get the "USB Device Not Recognized" error almost every time I connect my S2 to my laptop. This started happening after I flashed the phone with an official version of ICS 4.0.3. The installation went flawlessly, yet I am having a hard time having the phone recognize the computer.
View 4 Repliesbelieve the source of the problem to be a faulty install of ICS plus a later rooting, as the phone would intermittently go from Android Phone to Unable to Recognize USB Device, to just not being able to recognize the phone. I've uninstalled KIES along with the drivers and installed them back again to no avail. Is it possible to flash the phone with a working Android version without using the computer - through the SD card?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to get my Samsung SGH-T255G to connect to my PC, but I'm getting a USB Device Not Recognized warning when I plug the USB in. I've tried both the front and rear ports, no difference.I have the Samsung driver v14.0.0.162 installed (did not plug in cable during install).I downloaded both Samsung PC Studio 3.2.3 and PC Studio 7.2.24.9. The applications work fine, but won't connect because of the Device Not Recognized issue. The phone sees USB power and begins charging when connected. I have it turned on and at the main "idle" screen. Does the phone have to be in a certain mode to connect? Not familiar with how to do this. I'm running XP Pro on the PC.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased a 16gb micro sd for the phone. Copied files to it and inserted it into phone. When phone is connected to usb the card mounts and I can see it from the PC and copy files to it. When I try to browse the card from the phone, it is not found. I thought I had formatted it FAT32, but of I look at card properties in file explorer on the PC, it says 'File System: Generic hierarchical'. So I'm thinking perhaps it is not formatted properly. If I am to try another format, is it best to let the phone format it, or do it in a card reader on the PC first? I'm worried if I let the phone do it I may wipe my internal SD by mistake.

I have a folder called Music and within that I keep a load of folders with albums inside each. However for the albums that wont play, if I move individual songs outwith their album folder so that they just sit as loose files within the music directory then the music player recognises them.

Not rooted start showing constantly an icon of a plain as it was in flight mode and if you go to settings it shows that the flight mode is off. Also it is not recognising any SIM. I accepted to install and since then the handset is stuck on a white background screen with "Software Update", a 0% status bar and "loading..." and thats all. This is been there since 4-5 hours now. It eventually drained the entire battery. When I charged it and powered it on, it still comes back to the "Software Update" screen.I tried to do a hard reset with both the volume button and the power button. It still comes back to the white screen.

I now want to connect the phone to Kies, but it does not work properly.I connect the phone to the PC and it is detected by Windows. I can even browse the files in Windows Explorer. When I start Kies, it just says "Connecting..." but fails after a while with error "Can not start service on device". The phone screens shows that I am connected to Kies.

This resulted in me getting a new bbm pin etc. I was told that this would work fine, and that I would still be able to use bbm and my wireless internet (such as bbm, twitter, facebook etc) When I called o2 to have my blackberry services reactivated, they told me that "the device cannot be recognized" Now I'm wondering what else I can do. but the main problem is that when I attach my phone to my laptop (windows 7) using the USB provided, i get a msg saying:
"USB Device Not Recognized
One of the USB devices attached to this computer has malfunctioned, and Windows cannot recognize it."
I have iPhone 4, when I plug it in my computer, it says" USB Device Not Recognized" and nothing happens. iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes. But it charges. Everything was okay all time before and I have no idea what happened. Just once I plugged it in and and computer didn't recognize the phone.

My iPhone 4 is not being recognized as a USB device by my computer, therefore I can't synch to iTunes. It is also not being recognized when I plug it into the USB port in my car, so it is something with the phone, not my PC. I have the latest iOS on the phone and everything was working fine until today.
