I have an HTC Windows mobile and I now have the Samsung S5. I would like to transfer all my contacts to my new phone including photos etc. Is there a straight forward way to transfer all my data?

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen I plug my S2 into my laptop (Macbook pro) and choose data transI was expecting to see an icon representing the phone show up on the Finder desktop. That's not happening. Instead I'm prompted to "press the home key to quit Samsung Kies" Am I doing something wrong or do I HAVE to open Kies in order to see my phone's memory (32GB SD). My Nokia N8 would just show up on the desktop...not so with the GS2.
PS. Does using the USB invoke Samsung Kies to open up? I'm not seeing anything on my homescreen except the word "Connecting"...and the little dots that indicate the phone is thinking about something,..but nothing ever happens beyond that.
just replaced my iphone 3 for a galaxy s2 although its not connected yet. ive obviously got loads of apps and music on my iPhone which i would like to transfer to the galaxy. a lot of my music has been bought from itunes so i dont want to lose it.is the galaxy compatible with itunes? can i connect the galaxy to itunes and transfer all the music, photos, videos, phone book etc.

When my S II is plugged in to my laptop, within my laptop, it does not recognise the storage device within the S II, but only acknowledges it as "other devices". View 7 Replies View RelatedJust about 2 or 3 weeks ago i could use android file transfer just fine to sync my data in my htc one. But now every time i plug in my phone and open android file transfer it says no device found, please plug in your device or restart phone.
When I replug it or restart the phone it says "could not connect to device". I have tried using three different usb cables to attempt to connect but it doesn't work.
The last time i was using android file transfer my sister asked to sync her stuff so i connected her s4 mini and android file transfer said the same thing it said to me. That's wierd coz right before she asked me for her phone to be synced android file transfer was working fine with my phone. I installed samsung kies and synced her data in her phone. How to fix require to uninstall kies or reinstall drivers and restart computer. I have done all the methods and i still can't use android file transfer.

Never had KIES installed, my usb ports work fine, I tested them, my cable works fine. checked the Media Device (MTP) still doesn't work... deleted and re-installed AFT multiple times, i still get the "Could not connect to device. Try reconnecting or restarting your device"
What is the best method to transfer multiple files between a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 tablet and Galaxy S5 phone? I have lots of mp3 files on the tablet's SD card that I would like to transfer to the SD card of the phone.
When I connect both via USB cables to my Windows desktop, selection of source files and destination folder is easy, but some glitch often prevents all of the files from being transferred. I think it may be a timing issue with the connection, SD cards, or problem in cabling. Sometimes, Windows will not recognize both devices.
When I try to use Samsung SmartSwitch or SideSync with USB connected devices, I have a difficult time selecting the source files and target destination folder.
Using NFC doesn't seem to allow me to make the source file or destination folder selection I want. The file selection process seems to be "dumbed-down" based on standard file content type (music, video, pictures, documents, etc) and conventional destination locations in the device file structure rather than on the SD card.

but I notice it only use for internet connection.
what I want, I also want to transfer at least send files to phone via wi-fi connection like Bluetooth does.. because I see wi-fi have enough data transfer speed. so, it is very ridiculous to look out for USB data cable to send/transfer any files from pc to phone.
