I want to transfer _everything_ from my Galaxy S3 to a new LG G3 (verizon version, btw, not rooted). I know that Lollipop has some ability, but I also want all the apps and app data, including acct passwords, wifi passwords, SMS, MMS, contacts, photos, etc.

View 2 Replies View Relatedwhen I plug my S2 into my laptop (Macbook pro) and choose data transI was expecting to see an icon representing the phone show up on the Finder desktop. That's not happening. Instead I'm prompted to "press the home key to quit Samsung Kies" Am I doing something wrong or do I HAVE to open Kies in order to see my phone's memory (32GB SD). My Nokia N8 would just show up on the desktop...not so with the GS2.
PS. Does using the USB invoke Samsung Kies to open up? I'm not seeing anything on my homescreen except the word "Connecting"...and the little dots that indicate the phone is thinking about something,..but nothing ever happens beyond that.

When my S II is plugged in to my laptop, within my laptop, it does not recognise the storage device within the S II, but only acknowledges it as "other devices". When I switch to MTP, nothing happens. When I change to PTP my Nexus gets a mark in the device list but I can't install any driver manually. Just about 2 or 3 weeks ago i could use android file transfer just fine to sync my data in my htc one. But now every time i plug in my phone and open android file transfer it says no device found, please plug in your device or restart phone.
When I replug it or restart the phone it says "could not connect to device". I have tried using three different usb cables to attempt to connect but it doesn't work.
The last time i was using android file transfer my sister asked to sync her stuff so i connected her s4 mini and android file transfer said the same thing it said to me. That's wierd coz right before she asked me for her phone to be synced android file transfer was working fine with my phone. I installed samsung kies and synced her data in her phone. How to fix require to uninstall kies or reinstall drivers and restart computer. I have done all the methods and i still can't use android file transfer.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy S6 will not stay connected to my PC so I can transfer files, use Kies, SmartSwitch, or anything. Sometimes I hear the Windows notification that it's plugged in, but even when I do, it goes back and forth between being recognized and not. Most of the time it doesn't even show up in Device Manager.
I'm currently running Windows 10, but it did the same thing on Windows 8.1. I have downloaded the Samsung USB drivers as well as allowed Kies and SmartSwitch to install them.
Thinking my Windows 10 being upgraded from 8.1 without a full wipe carried over whatever problem was in 8.1, I did a full wipe of my PC and reloaded Windows 10 clean. That also didn't work.
When I first installed Windows 10 clean, my PC didn't recognize my phone at all. It just acted like a charger. After I installed the Samsung USB drivers, it started making the 'connecting' and 'disconnecting' sounds. Also, the most I got Windows to recognize my phone was for about 5 seconds, and that was right after turning off USB debugging. But with it on or off, it still won't stay connected.
And yes, I've made sure (when the phone has connected for a second or two) that it was on MTP. But... I've tried the camera mode as well.
This makes it not only impossible to move files easily between my phone and PC, but also to use Odin.
I've read many posts where people have this problem, but everyone just tells them to go download the Samsung USB driver, and after having done so three different ways, I can say it doesn't work for me.
