I recently lost my blackberry pearl 8100 after car accident( & thankfully I backed up my data the week before);anyways now I wanted to know how I can transfer my data to my new blackberry curve? (without my old blackberry pearl)I keep reading about the switch wizard option; but since I don't have my old blackberry anymore (just my backed up data). What can I do now?
View 4 RepliesSo I had an older Curve, and now I have a brand new Curve 3g. The older phone has malfunctioned, and I can't use the keypad, but it still recongizes the software when plugged in, and i can charge it - this is why the data couldn't be transfered from my old phone to the new one at the Verizon store. So, I want all the contacts, my to-do lists/memopads, etc transfered into the new phone using Blackberry Manager on my PC (Vista). So i selected the 'Device Transfer Wizard" from the main menu, and followed instructions - i get an error message that tells me, basically, I "need to remove some applications from my existing device because there is not enough space on the new device to accomodate them:" I don't get this - the new phone has 256mb memory compared to 32mb in the old phone, and I don't even have apps on there except facebook (I tried to delete my apps on the old phone and all it showed me as having was Facebook.So, I tried un-checking various boxes on the screen that asks what i want to transfer, and even with them all un-checked it still tells me there is not enough room to transfer.Am I doing this wrong? i just want my contacts and to-do lists transfered to the new phone - I don't know what this thing about the "applications" and such is about but I just want my data transfered.I will say that the Blackberry Manager application that I have is very slow, non-intuitive, and generally a huge pain in the **bleep** to work with - I would think that a slick tech company like Blackberry would have a far better program than this "Blackberry Manager".. I am impressed with the Blackberry phones but dread using that Blackberry Manager every time I need to (such as when putting anew ringtone on my phone).

I was using the Image Store feature of PC Suite to transfer images and videos, this worked Ok but I then realised I made a mistake and removed the files from my desktop, now it won't let me start again (it says there are no new image or video files). When I switch to MTP, nothing happens. When I change to PTP my Nexus gets a mark in the device list but I can't install any driver manually. View 3 Replies View RelatedJust about 2 or 3 weeks ago i could use android file transfer just fine to sync my data in my htc one. But now every time i plug in my phone and open android file transfer it says no device found, please plug in your device or restart phone.
When I replug it or restart the phone it says "could not connect to device". I have tried using three different usb cables to attempt to connect but it doesn't work.
The last time i was using android file transfer my sister asked to sync her stuff so i connected her s4 mini and android file transfer said the same thing it said to me. That's wierd coz right before she asked me for her phone to be synced android file transfer was working fine with my phone. I installed samsung kies and synced her data in her phone. How to fix require to uninstall kies or reinstall drivers and restart computer. I have done all the methods and i still can't use android file transfer.

They get things set up and recommended QuickPic - which looks good. However, it has a Wifi Transfer mode that I just don't seem to be able to get working.
I have selected photos, and tried to send but it sits there spinning with a message saying "Please open "Wifi Transfer" in nearby device."
The phone is connected to the internet using the home Wifi, and the desktop is connected using Ethernet.
What do I need to do? Do I need some sort of client on the desktop? The desktop is running Windows 7.
I just got a new samsung s6 edge previously an apple user and really annoyed by this phone, all I hear from friends is apple is so crap well I've never had an issue with iphones for me they worked how they were meant to work, now I have the s6 edge and problem after problem doing the most basic of things, the most annoying of which is photos.
I'm trying to drag photos from the dcim folder of the phone to my windows 8.1 desktop, obviously connected by usb I have the drivers installed etc have used both the mtp and ptp options in phone, neither option works each time I drag to desktop all the windows close screen turns grey like explorer crashes and the desktop refreshes, also done copy and paste does the same thing.
I don't want to use software as only way to do it which is slow and laborious is like google photos etc. surely if its treated as a storage device just copy and drag, really annoyed as it should be so simple.
I am sure that this information is probably posted somewhere in these forums, but Ive tried 5-6 different searches and cant find what I need to know, so thought I'd try a post. I only want to transfer a portion of the contacts in my Outlook 2007 address book over to my BB, and keep those contacts through each synchronization (dont want to synchronize and have them all show up).

But, even worse, I run the new desktop software (without synchronizing at all), and IT ERASES ALL MY TASK LIST DATA before I could synch it to Outlook. I lost 2 days of notes on my BlackBerry.Why would it do that without asking if it is ok to DELETE ALL DATA. This is terrible, now what am I suppose to do.

I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
