The task list program has major problems. But, even worse, I run the new desktop software (without synchronizing at all), and IT ERASES ALL MY TASK LIST DATA before I could synch it to Outlook. I lost 2 days of notes on my BlackBerry. Why would it do that without asking if it is ok to DELETE ALL DATA. This is terrible, now what am I suppose to do.
i was tryg to download my sons picture in theasked computer from my phone ...when it asked sync media , it asked for my blackberry password...i typed it in wrong 4 times...then the screen suddenly turned white and starte d to load till 100% 2 times then it rebooted and everything is gone...it doesnt even carry my phone number anymore...
In December when I was trying to copy a document to my blackberry, it started asking for my password. I typed it in but the phone said I typed it in wrong. So, I started wiping the phone tried to stop it wouldn't stop wiping. Is there anyway possible to get my data back since I saved it to the desktop software and even if I didn't save to the data to the desktop.... is there a way to retrieve the data that was erased.
Only after the action did i remember that i had my bank details on their in the blackberry app store. i went round to delete the info and it wasnt simple. after reading the forums and seeing how to erase the info i am concerned about the message underneath the erase option which states you will not be able to email etc. from this device again.Does this mean until she creates a new blackberry ID for herself ?
I had activated the screen lock feature for my mobile. I had used fingerprint detection and the password method. I discovered that if the password is entered wrong 5 times, the phone erases all the data on the phone as well as the memory card. I want to disable this feature. When the password is entered wrong 5 times. It should just not allow the user to enter password for another 5 minutes.
I have a Blackberry Curve 8310 with a data plan and I recently did an OS upgrade using the update feature on the phone itself. However, after the upgrade I noticed that my memo pad and task data were cleared out which seems odd to me, because it spent a good chunk of time creating a backup, and after the update the core data, communication data, and calendar data remained intact.
This is somewhat stressing because I had typed a few ideas out on my phone's memo pad and had not backed them up (slap on the hand for me), and now I no longer have access to them.
So I had an older Curve, and now I have a brand new Curve 3g. The older phone has malfunctioned, and I can't use the keypad, but it still recongizes the software when plugged in, and i can charge it - this is why the data couldn't be transfered from my old phone to the new one at the Verizon store. So, I want all the contacts, my to-do lists/memopads, etc transfered into the new phone using Blackberry Manager on my PC (Vista). So i selected the 'Device Transfer Wizard" from the main menu, and followed instructions - i get an error message that tells me, basically, I "need to remove some applications from my existing device because there is not enough space on the new device to accomodate them:" I don't get this - the new phone has 256mb memory compared to 32mb in the old phone, and I don't even have apps on there except facebook (I tried to delete my apps on the old phone and all it showed me as having was Facebook. So, I tried un-checking various boxes on the screen that asks what i want to transfer, and even with them all un-checked it still tells me there is not enough room to transfer.Am I doing this wrong? i just want my contacts and to-do lists transfered to the new phone - I don't know what this thing about the "applications" and such is about but I just want my data transfered.I will say that the Blackberry Manager application that I have is very slow, non-intuitive, and generally a huge pain in the **bleep** to work with - I would think that a slick tech company like Blackberry would have a far better program than this "Blackberry Manager".. I am impressed with the Blackberry phones but dread using that Blackberry Manager every time I need to (such as when putting anew ringtone on my phone).

Has anyone else had this problem? Does anyone know if this backup data might still exist?
I recently lost my blackberry pearl 8100 after car accident( & thankfully I backed up my data the week before);anyways now I wanted to know how I can transfer my data to my new blackberry curve? (without my old blackberry pearl)I keep reading about the switch wizard option; but since I don't have my old blackberry anymore (just my backed up data). What can I do now?
I recently had to reboot my Blackberry and lost all data. Luckily my desktop was fairly updated...with the exception of the Password Keeper!! I cannot find anywhere on the desktop application where this data was stored...and I have like 30 passwords. Anyone know if and where Password Keeper data gets stored on the desktop during a sync?
After recently updating the Desktop Manager to 5.0.1, the Redirector no longer operates. When opening it, i get the error message."Desktop Redirector has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry..." I've unistalled Destop Manager, reverted back to 5.0.0 and I still have the same issue. This was and is currently setup with my Outlook 2003 (SP3) exchange server to forward my work emails, and it worked up until I updated to 5.0.1 last week.
I'm trying to move everything from my Nokia N95 8GB to my desktop (so I can then move them to my Blackberry Bold 9900) but have problems doing so. I was using the Image Store feature of PC Suite to transfer images and videos, this worked Ok but I then realised I made a mistake and removed the files from my desktop, now it won't let me start again (it says there are no new image or video files). How can I start again?
I recently had a pressure crack to the LCD on my Curve 8310.I need to access my stored passwords in Password Keeper, however since the LCD is toast, can't read anything on the phone.I'm waiting on a replacement LCD, but need Password, ASAP.Is there any programs to view the program on the pc?
I connected my blackberry curve 9360 to my computer via blackberry desktop software for the first time today and it asked if I wanted to update my device.
I clicked yes, then it started the first stage of updating and it has frozen backing up 'Database: Options (3 of 21 items)'
Is there a way to unfreeze it or would it be safe to eject my phone and try again?
I just downloaded the desktop manager for my new windows 7 machine - I use outlook. When I try to configure my data files. an error message tells me it "cannot locate message stores" Does any know where my outlook data exists in the windows 7 world? I cannot locate it.
My phone went missing and I decided to get something different. Is there any way to get the phone numbers and anything else that is in my last sync without having my phone?
I went to the Verizon place a couple of days ago to see if they could get my phone to stop freezing and running slow. Well they accidentally deleted over half my pictures and my phone is the only place I have those pictures. Well luckily, I thought, I have a backup file and my pictures will be on there. But whenever I try to run it I get the error "data not recognized by desktop!" Some of these pictures are really really important to me and I want them back. Is there anything I can do to make the backup file work? Will it even contain the pictures? I have a blackberry storm and the verizon place said I have the most updated software.
Can the blackberry desktop manager software remotely wipe out all data and reset it to factory settings? I have bb curve 8530 and I have no information on what software update exactly is the desktop manager.
When I try to sync the contact list from outlook I get the error "unable to read application Data". I can sync my calendar, tasks and memos from Outlook, but for some reason I have problems with the contacts. I have a Curve 8520
A client of ours had upgraded his version of Desktop manager to 6 from 5.something.There is no more link for the Redirector under START - PROGRAMS - BLACKBERRY..The icon for the redirector still shows up in his start menu, however, it says that it's not started.Where can I find the software with the new desktop manager? I've tried reinstalling the desktop manager already but still cannot find it, nor were there any options during the installation to include it.
No recent changes but suddenly I am unable to synchronize on either my laptop at home (w/o enterprise server) or at work (via redirector) so it seems like something is wrong with device.Upon initiating the sychronization process, I get a message that reads as in the subject message on my laptop (windows) screen.I have checked all of the sychronization settings on both laptops and these seem fine. If I disconnect "contacts" I can sync calendar items, tasks and notes.Any suggestions for what to do?

I was just sitting here working when all of a sudden my iPhone blinked on with a white screen. Then it sat there for a few seconds on white and then it shut off.
When it came back on again I saw an Apple logo with a progress bar. I thought... okay, my iPhone crashed and now it's starting back up.
However, when it finished starting back up, I have the connect to iTunes and Emergency Call screen!
This SUCKS because I am expecting a call sometime today and I really need my phone to be working.
This just happened a few minutes ago. As some of you know, I was running 2.2.1. iTunes won't respond when I plug my iPhone in.
I've been using DM6 for the last week or so and am very disappointed. It does not seem to remember the last time that I synced or backed up. The only time it remembers is the first time I synced my BB with it. Not such a big issue for syncing, but I like my BB to backup weekly...so once a week has passed after the first sync, it wants to back up every time.
DM 5.0.1 worked flawlessly, but since I am using Outlook 2010, I can't go back.Come on RIM, you can do better than this.Any suggestions on how to get DM to remember when it actually backed up or synced?
