When I try to sync the contact list from outlook I get the error "unable to read application Data". I can sync my calendar, tasks and memos from Outlook, but for some reason I have problems with the contacts.
I have a Curve 8520
No recent changes but suddenly I am unable to synchronize on either my laptop at home (w/o enterprise server) or at work (via redirector) so it seems like something is wrong with device.Upon initiating the sychronization process, I get a message that reads as in the subject message on my laptop (windows) screen.I have checked all of the sychronization settings on both laptops and these seem fine. If I disconnect "contacts" I can sync calendar items, tasks and notes.Any suggestions for what to do?

I would like to import only the Contact List contained in that back up data from the stolen device to a new Curve 8520. However I do not see any method to do that other than to "Import Files" to the new Curve from the backup data via Desk Top Manager from PC. Is that possible or is that not the mechanism to accomplish this??

View 12 Replies View RelatedI am trying to sync my BB with my desktop software. I was advised the only way i could get music on my BB was to take the memory card out the phone use an adapter to put music on then put the memory card back in BB.
Surely when i connect my BB to my laptop with the desktop software on it, i should be able to see the music and pictures that are on my phone, or should i not??
I have gone into the options menu on the screen and had a look at my memory, and it is telling me "Media Card cannot be read. Verify that the memory card is properly inserted, formatted and not corrupted".
I have also made sure that Mass Storage support is on, along with Media Card Support, but i still cant see anything.

I have an 8350 nextel, outlook office 07 and desktop software version 6.0.1.18. I recently changes jobs and put my new information into my phone and I am now working from home so I have never needed this before. my email is sending and receiving no problem, my calendar is syncing perfectly but my contacts will not sync. the sync process seems to work from the software (it goes thru the motions) but when I look in outlook, no contactsI have looked around the net for possible solution and even tried most of the things I've seen...to no avail. I just want to get the contacts off my phone and into my outlook.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhen setting up the desktop software to sync with BB, a stage is reached asking for a source to be selected (Yahoo / Outlook / none / etc). As I am working with Outlook only, if I could I would select this for each, but it only appears as an option for 'Contacts'. For some reason Outlook is not offered as an option for either calendar or tasks. What is more odd is that I have successfully used the same BB and PC in the past with the Desktop software, but for some reason it just stopped working. I have tried removing and reinstalling both v5 and v6 without success. I suspect the problem might be the phone rather than the software - but heh, what do I know!

Then, I updated the software.Like many people here I was frustrated with the lock feature being changed/removed/unnecessary, and not being able to use the left key to lock it (I don't want the hassles of entering a password, I've already found that "solution" to the problem). Also, the green aol mail icon that represented my email changed to just the normal default icon. This may seem minor, but I am very particular with my phone and was beyond displeased that things had changed.
Anyway - I downgraded, hoping that everything would be back to normal. Being a new user, I wasn't smart enough to back up my phone, blah-blah-blah, I took it up to Verizon, had them add my contacts from a previous phone, then set out to re-customize the phone AGAIN.
I am now running v5.0.0.337. Wordmole, Sudoku, and a few other games that came with the phone have vanished. I set a downloaded ringtone as my default tone - I did this for all profiles - but all entries in my contacts list still say "Ringer_ClassicPhone" - the OLD default. I have set custom ringers for a few people, and have no problems with anything. However, if anyone else that just has the supposed "default" tone calls, it's the classicphone ringer - NOT the tone I have selected. I am not going to go through 100+ contacts and manually change them to the tone and volume that should ALREADY be set!
I have a BB9300 curve and I can't change my contact sync either.The email contact is an older one and I have deleted the account from by BB, but to no avail. I can't change default email to sync contact in my bb torch no matter what I tried. Your tips also didn't work
View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm unable to read individual emails when using the Outlook Web Access site in the internet browser window.I am using this to check work email and would rather do it this way (over the internet) than using the e-mail client that is part of the device. I'm able to log-in to my inbox and see everything I should see, however when I try clicking on an individual email to read it, nothing happens. I've tried clicking on the sender's name, the subject line and everything else on the line for that email. When I do that nothing happens.Am I doing this wrong? Is there somewhere else I'm suppose to click? Is there possibly some setting that needs to be turned on or maybe one that is on that should be unchecked?Any help would really, really be appreciated.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have had the Curve 8530 for about a week, and I noticed today that the majority of my contact list has disappeared. I started with almost 250 names, now I have about 25. Everything from A-D is gone, and about 75% of everything after that, just random names deleted. Also, when I pull up the contact list, I have to scroll down through a bunch of empty lines before I can see the numbers that are left, like all the deleted contacts are still there, just hidden. But if I search for names that aren't showing up, it doesn't find anything. I've tried a battery pull, and all that happened was the empty spaces in the list disappeared. I really don't want to have to reload my contacts every few days.

My friends just sent me a message and I cannot click and read it. I cannot reply or do anything about the messages. Then I just delete the whole thing. I find this hard to believe but would really like to quit wasting time finding an answer if Blackberry does not support the new OS.I am also using Outlook 2010 with Windows 7 Premium and cannot get the Blackberry Desktop to sync with Outlook 2010 during set-up.I can't believe Blackberry didn't know a new Outlook was coming out and syncing would be one of those key tasks.

View 9 Replies View RelatedWe recently upgraded my wife's Blackberry to a Curve 3G 9330. When we try to sync to Outlook (non-Exchange), we encounter an error with the contacts (address book). The Desktop Software simply indicates an "unknown error" - not particularly facilitate. We've narrowed it down to a potentially bad contact record on the Blackberry, but cannot find a way to delete it. The options menu will not come up on the Blackberry for this one record. We've try to sync the device by overwriting the contacts with new data from Outlook, but still get's the same error message. I cannot find any information on erasing/deleting the complete contact list on the Blackberry.

I redid my 6months blackberry internet booster like usual, but when it had been activated, none of my apps will work and none of my emails come in. My browser still works like usual though. I have phoned t-mobile up but they keep saying everything is correct and to just keep restarting my phone. i have been restarting it by doing the battery reboot about 3 times a day for the last month. I still cant use my apps. I phoned them again and they said blackberry was down aand it would come back in the next few days. No-one else i no has this problem. What can i do?

View 1 Replies View RelatedWith my wife, we got 2 BB Curve 8520 and we're now trying to sync both of them with our Outlook 2003 SP3 on XP SP3. Both do the same thing:
1/ First sync goes well, the BB calendar gets filled up,
2/ Everything syncs well during a few days,
3/ One day, the sync tells us it will delete 3000+ elements on Outlook, of course I click Reject and cancel the sync,
4/ I restart OK by synching one-dir from Outlook tp BB,
5/ A few days after, it returns to step 3 and is behaving bad again.
I can't get any durable solution, the only thing I got is a workaround that lasts only a few days.
Our BB version (mine/my wife's) :
- Platform : 4.2.0.118 / 4.2.0.135
- Application : 4.6.1.274 / 4.6.1.314
I am upgrade my bb8520 using bd program , but until reconnecting to jvm it come up application loader was unable connect with your device . reconect your device , enter the password , if required , and click retry . but the phone is running at the half way .
