When my S II is plugged in to my laptop, within my laptop, it does not recognise the storage device within the S II, but only acknowledges it as "other devices". So therefore I can not enter into the SII device to transfer etc.

View 1 Replies View RelatedOn 1st January 2015, I took some photos and videos in my Samsung Galaxy S5. I went to view those photos and videos in my gallery. First few times, the photos and videos were there. After some time, I went to view the photos and videos again in my gallery. Suddenly the photos and videos I took on January 1st were missing but photos I took before January 1st 2015 were still there. I'm sure I didn't delete any of the photos. Is there something I can do about?

Never had KIES installed, my usb ports work fine, I tested them, my cable works fine. checked the Media Device (MTP) still doesn't work... deleted and re-installed AFT multiple times, i still get the "Could not connect to device. Try reconnecting or restarting your device"
What is the best method to transfer multiple files between a Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 tablet and Galaxy S5 phone? I have lots of mp3 files on the tablet's SD card that I would like to transfer to the SD card of the phone.
When I connect both via USB cables to my Windows desktop, selection of source files and destination folder is easy, but some glitch often prevents all of the files from being transferred. I think it may be a timing issue with the connection, SD cards, or problem in cabling. Sometimes, Windows will not recognize both devices.
When I try to use Samsung SmartSwitch or SideSync with USB connected devices, I have a difficult time selecting the source files and target destination folder.
Using NFC doesn't seem to allow me to make the source file or destination folder selection I want. The file selection process seems to be "dumbed-down" based on standard file content type (music, video, pictures, documents, etc) and conventional destination locations in the device file structure rather than on the SD card.
I have an HTC Windows mobile and I now have the Samsung S5. I would like to transfer all my contacts to my new phone including photos etc. Is there a straight forward way to transfer all my data?
View 3 Replies View RelatedFew days ago I purchased SGS II, and few days later I purchased a Prolink USB Wireless Network Adapter To Create Wi-Fi connection between my pc internet and my mobile. and I am succeed
so, now my phone use my pc internet via wi-fi.
but I notice it only use for internet connection.
what I want, I also want to transfer at least send files to phone via wi-fi connection like Bluetooth does.. because I see wi-fi have enough data transfer speed. so, it is very ridiculous to look out for USB data cable to send/transfer any files from pc to phone.
I am trying to retrieve photos from a Samsung Galaxy S6 that is stock at the lock screen. The finger print scan is not working and they do not know there back up password. I researched two ways to get around this.
1. Entering in the google account user name and password
2. Signing into Find My Mobile with the samsung account information and unlocking the phone
If both of these options fail due to the owner not remembering there above credentials is there any other way to retrieve photos. How about putting the phone in dfu mode and using a program on a computer to copy photos from the internal storage. Is something like this possible?
When I plug in my phone it will not upload pictures with Windows 8
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just shifted from iPhone to galaxy5, i transferred all the data via smart-switch. And I also tried Dropbox in new galaxy s5, all the photos are doubled. one is original and other one's are duplicate (few Kb's). I had around 900 photos from iPhone to new galaxy s5, but in Dropbox- total photos are around 1700. Is there anyway I can delete duplicate one's easily.
secondly, drop-box setting is "sync via WI-fi". even if i don't click any new picture or video, its still backing up every-time. at one point it says" up to date" after few hours it syncing again.
I have moved the contacts but I want my old ringtones that identify each caller! MANY of the galaxy's ringtones ae very similar. Not liking it

View 7 Replies View RelatedI've set my phone to auto backup my photos when I'm on my wi-fi and also plugged in and charging. It says my backup has failed with a little yield logo with an exclamation point. I clicked the manual refresh circle to the right of that message and it keeps failing. If I view my photos in the Gallery almost all of them have only the device card symbol, and only a few from when the phone was new have the colored logo on the duplicate photo.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have moved to a Galaxy S6 after being an iPhone user since 2009. I love the phone, but I can't exactly figure out how to transfer my photos to my Mac running OS Yosemite. I had installed Samsung Smart Switch, but it appears that this application is for getting information from my old iOS device to my S6. I am fully aware that I can use sources like Google Drive and Drop Box to upload the photos, but I would rather do this via USB.
Samsung Kies does not work with the S6 based on my initial use of that program. When using the program with the S6 I received a prompt to use Smart Switch as Kies does not work with the S6. A suggestion that was given to me today was use Android File Transfer for Mac. I read though that this will not work with the S6 either. I would be happy at this point to simply plug the device in and go to finder and work with the files like I can on a Windows machine, but I don't see myself using a Windows PC any time in the future.
I have a Samsung GT S5570 (Android 2.3.6).
I have some photos sent to me via WhatsApp and wonder if it's possible to transfer them to my PC (Win 10) and, if so, how would I do that?
I cant share pictures from my photo app. I can only share them from the gallery. but I cant 95% of my pictures in the gallery...
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a S6 edge and a PC running Windows 7.
Goal: When plugging the phone into my PC it will downloads all the pictures in the “Gallery”(only) to a designated folder of my choosing via Windows 7’s “import pictures and video”.
I have not been able to accomplish this simple task. When I plug my phone in to my PC it usually says there are no new pictures (when there actually are new pictures). If I open the “Gallery” and then plug the phone in to the PC, it then precedes to scan the phone’s entire drive for new pictures. This takes a while it does get the photos from the “Gallery” along with tons of unwanted photos scattered throughout the phone’s drive.
Is there any way to direct Windows “import pictures and videos” to a specific folder(DCIM/Camera)? This worked extremely effectively with iPhone 5, but I’m thinking it can’t be done with the S6. It was super simple; just plug it in and presto, done.
Do have to use a 3rd party app to accomplish this with the S6?
