Samsung Galaxy S II :: Stop Contact Photos Appearing In Gallery On Android 2.3.3?
Apr 7, 2012How do I stop my contact photos appearing in Gallery on SGSII/Android 2.3.3? I know from various sites that you can add a ".NoMedia" file to any folder and it will apparently prevent it from displaying in Gallery, but I can't find the actual folder location in My Files where the contact photos are stored, so that I can put this file there - and I can't find this info on ANY web sites. Is the .nomedia thing the only way to stop this? Also, is it possible to uninstall / remove access to Gallery if I install another photo/video manager app?

Apr 13, 2015So I purchased a new nexus 6 a couple months back.. every so often pictures that other people have taken with their camera are showing up in my photos. I thought it might be a Bluetooth thing since I just got a pebble watch, but yesterday I received a picture that was taken at a local park a few miles away. I thought it was maybe a room mate messing with me, but they are just a freaked out by it as I am. It is very disconcerting to know that I am receiving other peoples photos that they have taken with their camera. Are other people getting mine? I can not find anything on the internet that would constitute receiving others camera pictures. I thought it might be an app, but then local people playing disc golf-- their pictures were coming on to my phone.. It has happened a handful of times.. maybe 10 pictures total. I am going to call some sort of customer service tomorrow.

Jan 7, 2015On 1st January 2015, I took some photos and videos in my Samsung Galaxy S5. I went to view those photos and videos in my gallery. First few times, the photos and videos were there. After some time, I went to view the photos and videos again in my gallery. Suddenly the photos and videos I took on January 1st were missing but photos I took before January 1st 2015 were still there. I'm sure I didn't delete any of the photos. Is there something I can do about?

Jul 16, 2015I am trying to retrieve photos from a Samsung Galaxy S6 that is stock at the lock screen. The finger print scan is not working and they do not know there back up password. I researched two ways to get around this.
1. Entering in the google account user name and password
2. Signing into Find My Mobile with the samsung account information and unlocking the phone
If both of these options fail due to the owner not remembering there above credentials is there any other way to retrieve photos. How about putting the phone in dfu mode and using a program on a computer to copy photos from the internal storage. Is something like this possible?

And I also tried Dropbox in new galaxy s5, all the photos are doubled. one is original and other one's are duplicate (few Kb's). I had around 900 photos from iPhone to new galaxy s5, but in Dropbox- total photos are around 1700. Is there anyway I can delete duplicate one's easily.
secondly, drop-box setting is "sync via WI-fi". even if i don't click any new picture or video, its still backing up every-time. at one point it says" up to date" after few hours it syncing again.

The message goes away and my phone goes back to home screen. I can't make any calls. I can receive a call and text. When I text the contact list comes up, but not when I try to make a call. but they do not work on the Photon. By not work, I simply mean that the photos exist on the server, and when I txt or call anyone whose contact has a photo stored, the photo does not show up for almost all of my contacts that have photos in them. Curiously, there are two contacts that display photos, but I don't know why. I would like the photos to be displayed for all contacts like all of my other devices do. i did move my applications from another phone to this phone using a MyBackupPro.

Jun 18, 2015All my contacts are synced, Facebook profile pics show up on the contact list but Caller ID photos do not show for incoming/sending calls. Its just the generic picture. However Google+ profile pictures do appear in a small circle on the bottom left corner on a gray background.
PS: The problem started after the 5.0 update. I've already reset the phone and tried doing the update with PC Companion. Nothing works.

I keep getting stuck on downloading please wait. I have followed the instructions in the Yada manual, and there was no help in the Samsung manual. The device will answer the phone but there is no way I can voice dial from it. I have spent the last couple of hours trying to do this. Jan 17, 2012The one thing I don't get is the picture contacts that I have don't show up when the phone is locked, (the caller ID and specific ring tone if used do), they do show up though if the phone is unlocked, so I'm confused. I know there is the caller ID issue that is resolved by un-ticking contacts in encryption which is what I have done otherwise the contact ID's wouldn't show up when locked. It's not the end of the world, but just a niggle that I would like to resolve.
