Mar 27, 2012just updated to ICS via Kies, (O2), but now I cannot see my phone on my PC.Getting the above error in device manager. I have re-installed the drivers twice?

Samsung Galaxy S II :: Cannot Connect To Kies - Cannot Start Service On Device?
Aug 16, 2011I have a S2 with 2.3.3 installed. I did upgrade previously using Kies. I now want to connect the phone to Kies, but it does not work properly.I connect the phone to the PC and it is detected by Windows. I can even browse the files in Windows Explorer. When I start Kies, it just says "Connecting..." but fails after a while with error "Can not start service on device". The phone screens shows that I am connected to Kies.

Oct 23, 2011I initially tried to flash the Lite'ning ROM but then I got the issue where there is a boot loop with the (S) screen. Afterwards I tried following the instructions on this thread: [URL]
After this, my phone doesn't even go past the Samsung Galaxy S II screen (black and white) and just freezes there. The only way I can turn it off is to remove the battery pack. Fortunately I can still access recovery and download mode. I've tried redoing the instructions on the thread i mentioned several times and still no go. I have no idea what to do right now.

Jul 26, 2015I have tried device manager to lock my phone and set a new pin number, but it tells me my phone is already locked and I do not require a pin number. I have tried going thru google and once again it never worked. The pin number screen will allow me to go on indefinitely until the pin is entered correctly. I think I have tried every option except calling samsung or tmobile.

Unfortunately, it is locked to the O2 network and I need it on the orange network.Learning via google, I have rooted the phone, and tried the 'Galaxy S2 sim unlock' application to find the unlock code but it came back with the following message 'cannot find unlock code' Just wondering is there something I have done wrong? Also have an annoying yellow triangle with an exclamation mark that comes up every time the phone is rebooted.

Dec 24, 2011Last night, my carrier pushed the Device management update to my SII. I accepted to install and since then the handset is stuck on a white background screen with "Software Update", a 0% status bar and "loading..." and thats all. This is been there since 4-5 hours now. It eventually drained the entire battery. When I charged it and powered it on, it still comes back to the "Software Update" screen.I tried to do a hard reset with both the volume button and the power button. It still comes back to the white screen.

Nov 8, 2011The problem with the SGS II is that there's no connect to PC setting. The other problem is that to connect to as a mass storage device, you have to manually do this every time - In my car, the phone repeatedly beeps at me until I enter the USB connect screen, which is very annoying.
