I recently upgraded to the .610. At first it was just one sms and the number has gone up to 4 unread sms messages and i have looked and searched everywhere, deleted, did numerous battery pulls, even leaving the battery out for an extended amount of time, tried changing the theme etc etc. Is there any way to fix this?
View 11 RepliesThe unread message indicator for a mailbox does not always clear after reading all new messages in the inbox. I have multiple inboxes, sometime after reading or opening all messages; or "mark all messages open" the red asterisk is still displayed with the the mailbox icon. The unread message count is 0, i.e.. Not displayed. The only way I can clear the red asterisk is to change inbox settings and save. I usually de-select and re-select an option so i get he save changes dialog. This does not always happen but happens enough to be aggravating since i have 5 mailboxes and use the indicator to determine which one i need to open for new messages. I recently upgrades from a 9650 which did NOT have this behavior.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have an unread message icon that cannot be deleted. This has only started happening since I downloaded the newest VZW 5.0 patch. I know this thread has been done for multiple reasons but I have tried all the normal fixes.
*Mark all prior unread.
*Search saved
*Multiple battery pulls
*etc etc etc
None of this is working. Anyone know of any other fixes?
Is there any way I can set one of my email accounts to not affect the unread message count on the main screen? I've already got it set to not give any notification (noise, LED or vibration) and not be included in the main message list.
I can only find one global setting to show the unread message indicator or not show it.
Maybe I'll just have to settle for disabling the indicator. The alternative is to use the gmail app, but I prefer the built-in email interface.
I have a new BB 8530. I have several email boxes that I'm receiving email from. They are setup IMAP yet when I view or delete via my computer, the blackberry is never updated with "deleted" or "read" status. I'm currently showing about 60 unread messages on my bb but have no unread messages.
View 2 Replies View RelatedMy issue is this, my messaging icons do not depict number of unread messages, at all. Including the Samsung default text messaging app, Gmail and Verizon email. They did when I first got the phone (Galaxy S6) but have not at all today after doing some simple personalization.
Additionally, I have gone into app manager and the individual apps and the show notifications check box is checked.
So I have the Bold 9000, and I was looking at the status of signal in dB. To do this, you go:
Options--> Status.
In 3G, the highest value is -70dB regardless how good the signal is.
In 2G, the highest value seems to be -55dB.
How can you make the 3G status to be as accurate as the 2G status, as in, to display numbers above -70dB...
My iphone is showing in the red badge two unread text messages but I have none. Ive tried turning off/on, exiting out of the app at the bottom on the screen (ya know when you make them wiggle) hard restart, and restoring from my itunes. Nothing is working...

This number will increase over time & the only way to clear it is to remove the battery. Bell can't solve this & I'm not about to pay for customer service. I'll switch to an iPhone first.

View 3 Replies View RelatedFor the past few days my blackberry has said i have an unread bbm message then yesterday it started to say I have 2. I`ve tried taking out the battery deleting all chats and messages on my phone and also deleting bbm all together and even when i did this it still said I had the unread messages. I have no group updates nor have I synced a blackberry messenger contact with an existing phonebook contact. The only thing I think it may be is someone I`ve deleted trying to contact be but I`ve removed all deleted contacts from my ignored list so why arn`t the chats showing up?
View 4 Replies View RelatedRandomly, my bold restarted by itself (hasn't done this once since I upgraded the OS 3 months ago). Ever since it restarted, it's had the unread message icon saying I have 4 unread messages. I went to every folder and marked all prior unopened and checked to makesure nothing was unread. The icon wouldn't go away, it even stayed with the read star. Overnight, I got 6 new emails, so it told me I had 10 unread messages. I deleted the 6 new ones, and the icon is still there with the read star saying I have 10 unread now
Any ideas? I pulled the battery already twice and nothing
Okay..I've tried everything: Soft reset, hard reset [including holding alt, del & right shift], battery pull,
hidden folders, mark prior opened, using the Backup & Restore off of DM to erase the SMS messages
resending the service books.
It's not on the messages, but the SMS & MMS Message tab. And it's not just one, it says 22. And it's really annoying. Any ideas?
I deleted a few messages before I read them, and it now it says I have 4 unread messages, yet my messages are cleared. I tried restarting, reconciling, taking the battery out,Since I deleted the messages, I cannot go back and click on it to mark it has "read" and therefore take the notifications away.

I have a gmail account set up on my Bold 9650 and everything works properly EXCEPT that I cannot get it to show me the message count of unread messages (which usually should show up in parenthesis when I scroll over the account envelope icon). It seems that this is an issue with the Bold 9650 in particular because I have gotten the gmail unread message count to work on other blackberry devices, but not my (or another friend's) Bold 9650.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI have an errant "unopened" mail icon, It was on my old BlackBerry (an 8830) and when I got my new BlackBerry 9650, all was good, until I completed my enterprise synchronization, and guess what came back? now heres the rub, it shows (and as it did before) That it is a "Optimum on Line" email, not the email that is pushed by my enterprise server. So neither tech support will own the problem.

I have amassed 24 unread emails in my gmail account on my home screen, for which I cannot remove. I have:
1. Deleted all the emails in this account
2. Removed the account and recreated it on the BB
3. Removed the battery
Unfortunately, none of the above has removed the alleged unread emails from my home screen.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have a BlackBerry Bold 9700. I have an unread message indicator (little yellow envelope +3) on my screen, but I don't have any unread messages in my list.
So far, I've tried the following:
1. Typed "u" to search for unread messages and it tells me that I have no unread messages.
2. I went into my email and selected "mark prior unopened" and still nothing.
3. I've tried to restart the phone the phone. When I do, I end up with even more unread messages that I have to select -- over and over again! I can always get it back down to 3, but no fewer.
4. The date and time on my phone appears to be correct.
5. I have no "saved" messages on my phone.
6. I have no new or saved voicemail on my phone.
I have an email message indicator which won't go away. I have no unread messages in any of my email accounts. I tried pulling the battery and re booting. Didn't work.I even tried deleteing the email accounts, but this didn't work either.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI recently got my Blackberry Bold 9700 and I used to use crunchsms on my Blackberry Curve 8520 so I didn't mind the message indicator whenever I got an email because crunchsms had it's own message indicator. I now realize that whenever I receive a text and email it results to the same message indicator. I have done: Messages > Options > Inbox Settings and have unclicked my email account so that the message inbox remain separate. I don't understand how I have the latest OS version yet have to deal with this. Is there someone who can help? Or is there a theme that I can download that separates the sms/mms and email complete so that I may get two entire different message notifications?
