I have an unread message icon that cannot be deleted. This has only started happening since I downloaded the newest VZW 5.0 patch. I know this thread has been done for multiple reasons but I have tried all the normal fixes.
When I upgraded to BB OS 5.0 I now have my message indicator default is 10 unread messages. I have gone into SMS, Email, missed calls and have asked to have all messages marked as prior read and it doesn't go away.
so if my day starts with 10 messages marked as unread and I get new ones thru the day it goes up and as I read these messages it goes down BUT never goes below 10.
If I have to reboot due to an app upgrade It may go up, not always but sometimes, I am now @ a steady 14 unread messages according to my message indicator. I really have NO unread messages
My call log shows missed calls, but never tells me I have a new voicemail, nor is there any icon on the screen that indicates there is a new voicemail waiting. Can someone please tell me how to get notified that I have new messages? Presently I'm having to call my voicemail just to see if there is a message.
I have the BB Tour for Verizon. I am pretty new owner of a BB. I have never had one before so I am not sure how to get the new message indicator off the top of my home screen. The thing is I don't have any new messages. I had deleted all the messages in all of the folders. I did a battery pull and it still won't turn off.
I'm new to Blackberry and just learning. I've noticed that some of my SMS texts that are sent have a "D" in the check-mark. Can someone let me know what it indicates? I have not changed any settings and not all my outgoing messages contain the "D."
I got my tour about 6 weeks ago, and am learning something new everyday. I lovingly call the phone "my smarter than me phone" I have used this forum alot to answer questions, and for the most part am pretty comfortable with the phone now.
The message indicator on the home screen sometimes displays to the left of the time, and sometimes to the right. I thought at first it was an am/pm thing, but 10 minutes ago (8:41 ayem now) it was on the right, and now it just jumped to the left.
The unread message indicator for a mailbox does not always clear after reading all new messages in the inbox. I have multiple inboxes, sometime after reading or opening all messages; or "mark all messages open" the red asterisk is still displayed with the the mailbox icon. The unread message count is 0, i.e.. Not displayed. The only way I can clear the red asterisk is to change inbox settings and save. I usually de-select and re-select an option so i get he save changes dialog. This does not always happen but happens enough to be aggravating since i have 5 mailboxes and use the indicator to determine which one i need to open for new messages. I recently upgrades from a 9650 which did NOT have this behavior.
Is there any way I can set one of my email accounts to not affect the unread message count on the main screen? I've already got it set to not give any notification (noise, LED or vibration) and not be included in the main message list.
I can only find one global setting to show the unread message indicator or not show it.
Maybe I'll just have to settle for disabling the indicator. The alternative is to use the gmail app, but I prefer the built-in email interface.
I recently upgraded to the .610. At first it was just one sms and the number has gone up to 4 unread sms messages and i have looked and searched everywhere, deleted, did numerous battery pulls, even leaving the battery out for an extended amount of time, tried changing the theme etc etc. Is there any way to fix this?
I have 2 indicators showing telling me that I have an unopened email (closed envelope) and a download pending. I have gone through all my emails and downloads and nothing is pending....can't delete the notification symbols.Battery pull did.
My BB Tour 9630 is showing 1 message unread. However I can't find the message. Also next to the number 1 is an icon I don't recognize. It looks like two small 0's connected by a line. Does anyone know how to clear?
The new email indicator on my Blackberry Tour will not go away. I have no unread messages or missed calls. I've tried a battery pull, a reboot, marking prior messages read, and changing the message count settings. It won't go away.
This morning when I turned on my phone I had my usual email indicators, but also there was a really tiny one near the ringtone indicator. Its a small flower (five pettaled) with the red asterix indicator (like when you have a new mail/sms). I have looked at all my apps and message folders and I have no clue what this is for!
I recently owned the curve 8530 and liked the setting to make the messages appear in bubble format rather then line separated. The Tour that i have now does not have that option. Does anyone know if it exists due to an OS upgrade, or anyway else i can get sms to display in bubbles?
I plugged my bb into the wall and for a little bit it was charging fine but then the symbol disappeared. I unplugged and plugged back in which made the clock pop up so I know it connected right. But its still not charging. I turned the charging indicator led on with berrybuzz and the light didn't turn on when I plugged it in.
Meterberry says the temp is 111 degrees. I don't know what the 'normal' ranges are. I'm still under my 30day warranty so do I take it back? Is anyone else having this problem? Its done this before and it eventually charges but something is going on....
My tour beeps as if there is a message but theres no message. Ive been having this issue for over a week. Please tell me that there is a fix for this because it is annoying and I don't know if I am missing the message or if its just a phantom message.
I am wondering what is the advantage or necessity of having the Message folder when it appears that it is more or less a duplicate of what is in your email folder. Is there some purpose or advantage to having this folder that I am missing?
I deleted all my SMS messages (and I think I deleted two of them without reading them)so I have the visual alert saying that i have 2 unread messages, but no messages. How do I reset this number or this alert?
Why are my recieved sms messages an hour behind my acual time zone? My send messages show the actual time, however, when I recieve a message from someone in the same time zone its always an hour behind.
Since last week, after I recieved an "event reminder" e-mail from a co-worker, I can NOT get the 1 new message symbol off of my phone. I have gone through ALL of my message folders for days now. I have pulled the battery 5 times. The stupid yellow message symbol with the number 1 WILL NOT GO AWAY! I don't know what to do.
Oh and another thing... after that day, when I try to put my phone on "silent" it still vibrates, and when I put it on "vibrate" it makes sounds!
I just received the "white screen of death" with the new operating system for my tour. I had to go to the Verizon store just to get access to my phone. After rebooting my phone told me that I had 35 new texts and a number of unread messages. I have tried everything short of deleting all of my messages. Does anyone know how I can fix this problem?
Every time I try to use an app that requires the internet, one of two messages constantly pop up, sometimes even both. I have the application permissions set to allow. One message is, "The application slacker_radio has attempted to open a connection to a location inside the firewall and outside the firewall which is not allowed by your IT policy." I can only click 'ok' after that. The other message is, "The application (any one of them) has requested a http connection to (whichever site it uses)" Then is has choices: 'Do not ask for http' and 'Do not ask for http to (whichever site it uses)' The second choice is checked by default. I've tried checking both and either box singely. Again, all the application permissions are set to allow for these apps. I've tried Slacker, Poynt, Scoremobile, Weatherbug, and . I didnt bother trying any other app.
Got a Tour last month, upgraded to new 5.0.0.whatever software with Verizon, started having phantom new messages.I tried everything--battery pull, searching "unopened only" messages, I even wiped my entire phone and reloaded everything.
Nothing worked and Verizon gave me a new phone but two days later, I'M HAVING THE EXACT SAME PROBLEM!!Does anyone know how to fix this issue?
We have a BES BB user (9630 v5.0) who is not able to file a messages. When the user opens a message and then does option on that message, the "File" option is listed as an option. Also, when the user goes and views folders, no folders are available...Usually the outlook folder structure is synced downUser is reconciling just fine and everything in BB manager looks good. Carrier sent user a new phone thinking it was the device but user is having same issue with new BB as well. Thus, why they have contacted the BES Admins.
On my home screen i have the icon showing on top saying i have 1 message. But i have no messages of any sort. No Emails, No I.M.'s, No BBM's, No SMS or MMS, No Facebook or MySpace.i have checked and double checked all of the above mentioned. I have turned off phone. i have removed battery. i have done the *228 update.
I have a Blackberry Tour 9630.The shortcut key of pressing N to go to the next message or pressing U to go to the next unread message is no longer working. However, pressing P to go to the previous message works fine.
