I have a new BB 8530. I have several email boxes that I'm receiving email from. They are setup IMAP yet when I view or delete via my computer, the blackberry is never updated with "deleted" or "read" status. I'm currently showing about 60 unread messages on my bb but have no unread messages.

I have a few email addresses integrated with Blackberry OS 5.0.0.459 on the Curve 8530.
I set the inbox settings so that some of the email addresses do not show in the Messages inbox, however, they still show a small icon notification at the top tray when there are unread messages there.
How can I customize the unread messages notification tray icon so that it doesn't show unread emails from certain email accounts?
I recently upgraded to the .610. At first it was just one sms and the number has gone up to 4 unread sms messages and i have looked and searched everywhere, deleted, did numerous battery pulls, even leaving the battery out for an extended amount of time, tried changing the theme etc etc. Is there any way to fix this?
View 11 Replies View RelatedMy issue is this, my messaging icons do not depict number of unread messages, at all. Including the Samsung default text messaging app, Gmail and Verizon email. They did when I first got the phone (Galaxy S6) but have not at all today after doing some simple personalization.
Additionally, I have gone into app manager and the individual apps and the show notifications check box is checked.
My iphone is showing in the red badge two unread text messages but I have none. Ive tried turning off/on, exiting out of the app at the bottom on the screen (ya know when you make them wiggle) hard restart, and restoring from my itunes. Nothing is working...

I was wondering if I'm able to update my virgin mobile to the sprint final OS instead of the .601.. The .601 takes so long to load and everytime I turn my phone off and back on %5 of the battery disappears... Either it's my battery or the phone. But I just want to know if I could load the sprint OS instead of Virgin mobile. I just got my phone and it came with .601 but me not liking it.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have searched around and found many problems faced regarding the email icon showing unread emails but in actual fact there are none. My problem however is the opposite of that - there are unread emails but it is not indicating as such.
This is specifically for Gmail as all my other email accounts are showing unread emails just fine. It is a minor issue but it does get on my nerves trying to figure this out.
Recent activities include upgrading OS to OS5 and changing telco, doubt if these are the cause of it. I have tried deleting and creating the email account and battery pull to no avail.
Just upgraded from 8330 to 8530. I am not a moron with these phones, but I can not get an unread email notification to disappear. I have no new messages, I have done repeated battery pulls, I have changed themes, I have gone through all my email accounts. I havd searched through this board, and don't see any other ideas that might solve this issue. At this point the little #1 at the top of my screen is my arch nemesis. Anyone have any other ideas?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm having trouble with the standard email application. When I get new emails into my account, the number of unread emails appears next to the email address (account name). I expand folders to see where the emails are, but the unread numbers don't appear next to the folders. For example, the account may say it has 4 unread emails, but when I expand to the folders view, there are no indicators. This is a Gmail IMAP account. When I use the GMail app, the number of unread emails shows correctly in the folders(labels) view.
How do I get the unread emails to show correctly in the folders view of the standard email app?

Does anyone know how to hide the previous messages with your sms messages? My screen has the history of every text message sent between me and the reciepient as if we are in a chat screen. On the curve 8330 all you had to do was go to options-sms-number of previous items and change the setting. Under the help option and in the user manual for the 8530 it says to follow those exact directions but for some reason that option is not available for me when I go to options-sms. I contacted my service provider Verizon and they stated the option isnt available on this model. So why would it be under the help menu on the phone. Can anyone help me I hate to read days and days of text messages between me and another person if I make a mistake and scroll up. All I want to do is see the previous text message in the new text message screen.

Even when I transferred numbers from my Envy to my Blackberry a lot of the contacts went under "Work" rather than "Mobil".How can I change it so that by default it comes up under mobile (since that's the majority of numbers I add to my contacts)?Also, is there a way to easily switch the classification of a number? Lately I've been just going into the contact and retyping it, but doing that for all of my contacts will be a pain.

I just got a new bb today and when all my data got transferred over, my new one is now saying that I have 3 unread messages. I've deleted all old messages, emails and voicemails. I also removed my email account from my phone and it is still there. I'm not sure what else to check or how to get rid of it.

I have amassed 24 unread emails in my gmail account on my home screen, for which I cannot remove. I have:
1. Deleted all the emails in this account
2. Removed the account and recreated it on the BB
3. Removed the battery
Unfortunately, none of the above has removed the alleged unread emails from my home screen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedTrying to figure out best way to stay on top of notifications. Not really thrilled with getting them in the notifications section for each email - I get too many of them.
My Galaxy S3 and past iphones all simply show you a notification with a number on the mail or messages app itself, telling me how many I have new or unread. I believe there is even a third party app for Gmail. But I assume it should simply be a setting to the existing apps or a active widget. But no luck.
Am I missing a setting, or is there really no actual unread message totals notification on the email and hangouts icons?
