BB Torch :: Message Indicator But No Messages Listed?
Jan 3, 2010
My Torch 9800 will show messages or emails in the top center display. However, there are no emails or messages in the folders. This number will increase over time & the only way to clear it is to remove the battery. Bell can't solve this & I'm not about to pay for customer service. I'll switch to an iPhone first.
How do I stop Blackberry apps being listed in my current messages folder? I have not requested any apps but when I open the Messages folder they are permanently listed there - there is no delete facility and if you touch them they simply open up and try and get you to buy or download the app.
I have an envelope that indicates I have two new messages but I do not. I verified all my message were read, non unread. I did a battery pull twice and it still will not go away.
Just recently I had an Icon show up just blow the clock on my home screen that looks like a black circle with a downward diagonal arrow in the middle of it.
I recently upgraded to the .610. At first it was just one sms and the number has gone up to 4 unread sms messages and i have looked and searched everywhere, deleted, did numerous battery pulls, even leaving the battery out for an extended amount of time, tried changing the theme etc etc. Is there any way to fix this?
Is it possible to turn off both the new message indicator (red asterix) and the new message count?I would like no message indicators to appear on my blackberry home screen.
I have an iphone 4 which is completely updated but daily i have an issue of it deleting some of my contacts from the contacts list. Why is this happening with some of the contacts?
these screen dimensions for the devices as listed on the BlackBerry US website are:
9810 High-resolution 640 x 480 (VGA) color display,9850 / 9860 High-resolution 800x480 WVGA pixel color display,(9900 / 9930 VGA 640 x 480 high resolution)
Does the 9810 really share the same dimensions as the 9900 / 9930? How can that be; one is a portrait device and one is a landscape device? Also, shouldn't the 9850 / 9860 be a 480 * 800 given that it's a portrait device?
How do you change what is listed on the external display? The help site says to click options, display, external notifications but it is not listed as an option on my Torch.I'd like to remove calendar from external notifications b/c every time I open them to read a new message, I have to scroll down through all of my appointments for the next month,
I'm using a Torch 9800 and I have a message icon in the little notification bar in between the profile selector and the search but I have no messages. I have no voicemail that I haven't listened to, no unread facebook messages or emails, no missed calls, nothing that I can see that would create the little envelope message icon and if I click on it it does not show that I have any messages - only my calender entries. This happened about a month ago and then happened again 2 days ago so I now have 2 messages showing but no messages which is so irritating. Not stopping my phone from working or anything horrid like that, just an irritation as I think I have a message when I don't actually have any unread messages. I have also tried to reboot a number of times but then 1st thing I see when it reboots is those 2 stupid messages that don't exist.
When I receive a text message I need to scroll down to the current message in order to read it. What can I do to open my messages on the current message?
I have somehow set my message box to only show missed calls & I can't get it back to showing all messages?I have looked in messages options - inbox management & Desktop is ticked as well as text messages. I also in 'phone', options, call logs and lists, changed 'Show These Call Log Types in Message List' to None & it still only shows Missed Call as the title & shows the list. I looked in the long on-line manual but it didn't help. Also I tried View Folder to select different mail folders from my desk based Outlook list but still the display is stuck...
I have a BlackBerry Bold 9700. I have an unread message indicator (little yellow envelope +3) on my screen, but I don't have any unread messages in my list.
So far, I've tried the following:
1. Typed "u" to search for unread messages and it tells me that I have no unread messages.
2. I went into my email and selected "mark prior unopened" and still nothing.
3. I've tried to restart the phone the phone. When I do, I end up with even more unread messages that I have to select -- over and over again! I can always get it back down to 3, but no fewer.
4. The date and time on my phone appears to be correct.
my new message indicator will not go away. i have no unopened items (even have used Search to try to find them). In the main menu, it always shows a (1) in front of my email address even if i delete all emails.
I have an email message indicator which won't go away. I have no unread messages in any of my email accounts. I tried pulling the battery and re booting. Didn't work.I even tried deleteing the email accounts, but this didn't work either.
how do i get the email indicator to go away. i've checked all email folders with none there and it still shows that i have new emails. not a big deal but i find myself checking just in case......
I am having a problem. My email indicator light won't go off. I have deleted all email messages from both folders and in fact deleted all messages from all folders and yet I still apparently have an email message that is unread.
I've just got a Nokia E72 and have managed to self teach how to operate all the functions I can see needing, ( no thanks to the paper manual the phone came with). Unfortunately from day 1 there has been a black + white envelope icon flashing at the very bottom of the screen. It can't be reached by the navigator and I have no unread messages nor are the message boxes full.
I have read the manual cover to cover and pressed every help button in the phone to no avail. how to stop this flashing icon as it is starting to drive me crazy. Other than that it seems like a really good phone.
My phone is annoying the crap out of me...it vibrates, and blinks red constantly (with no message)!!! Is there, possibly, a quick fix?!? (I've tried a million and one batt pulls!)
My call log shows missed calls, but never tells me I have a new voicemail, nor is there any icon on the screen that indicates there is a new voicemail waiting. Can someone please tell me how to get notified that I have new messages? Presently I'm having to call my voicemail just to see if there is a message.
I have an unread message icon that cannot be deleted. This has only started happening since I downloaded the newest VZW 5.0 patch. I know this thread has been done for multiple reasons but I have tried all the normal fixes.
I recently got my Blackberry Bold 9700 and I used to use crunchsms on my Blackberry Curve 8520 so I didn't mind the message indicator whenever I got an email because crunchsms had it's own message indicator. I now realize that whenever I receive a text and email it results to the same message indicator. I have done: Messages > Options > Inbox Settings and have unclicked my email account so that the message inbox remain separate. I don't understand how I have the latest OS version yet have to deal with this. Is there someone who can help? Or is there a theme that I can download that separates the sms/mms and email complete so that I may get two entire different message notifications?
Something happened and now every new message that comes into my gmail bb account doesn't have a red * on the icon on home screen. Its as if the message application was already opened but the message is still unread. Anyone know anything about this.
After I get a text message or an email, the set ring tone sounds and the light indicator flashes. After I read the message and save or delete it the message light still flashes. Why is this and why won't the light stop flashing? The only way I can get it to stop flashing is take the battery out and put it back in. Verizon is my carrier and it is a Verizon 9650 phone.
The unread message indicator for a mailbox does not always clear after reading all new messages in the inbox. I have multiple inboxes, sometime after reading or opening all messages; or "mark all messages open" the red asterisk is still displayed with the the mailbox icon. The unread message count is 0, i.e.. Not displayed. The only way I can clear the red asterisk is to change inbox settings and save. I usually de-select and re-select an option so i get he save changes dialog. This does not always happen but happens enough to be aggravating since i have 5 mailboxes and use the indicator to determine which one i need to open for new messages. I recently upgrades from a 9650 which did NOT have this behavior.
I've looked everywhere and I have an indicator on a text message that isn't listed anywhere on this site. It is a red box that appears to be a clock with the red hands pointing to 12 and 3....it looks like a red clock, basically. I think it means the text isn't going through?
