I'm purchasing a used Bold for $10. The owner says she did a master reset by pressing ctrl+alt+del. The phone went black and only the red indicator light comes on. Did the battery pull and charged it for hours but still nothing. Next steps? What may have happened?

Options--> Status.
In 3G, the highest value is -70dB regardless how good the signal is.
In 2G, the highest value seems to be -55dB.
How can you make the 3G status to be as accurate as the 2G status, as in, to display numbers above -70dB...
I am having issues with my red indicator light flashing, I have no new messages,e-mails or texts. Was wondering way this keeps flashing and is there a way to turn it off.

After I read the message and save or delete it the message light still flashes. Why is this and why won't the light stop flashing? The only way I can get it to stop flashing is take the battery out and put it back in. Verizon is my carrier and it is a Verizon 9650 phone.

I even let the battery drain completely, and it remained on. Also, the other indicator lights, do not seem to be working. -it appears that BB is draining the battery from a full charge battery after unplugging and powering on....w/out any use of unit.
-the red LED light comes on after plugging via a/c charge. After about 10 seconds, the LED light goes out...and indication that it's not charging.
-Battery is a new battery, and is completely dead.
-overall, it appears that unit starts a charge, then just stop charging.

Yesterday, I picked up the phone and there was no red indicator light blinking -- however, when I touched my mouse I realized that there had been an incoming message on my BlackBerry Messenger sitting there for about 3 hours. I did not pick up my BlackBerry sooner because I did not see any red light when I walked into the room during that 3-hour period. View 7 Replies View RelatedA few days ago I pulled my phone out of the holster and It was really hot and when i looked at it i realized it was off, and wouldnt turn back on. just a red light comes on like normal upon a battery pull but after it turns off the red light comes back on again once more then stays off for good. unless i plug it in then it comes on and goes off all the time. I got it powered back up yesterday but then it did it again. Today I plugged it in and I saw a picture of a battery come up on the screen showing it as empty, i was hoping that meant it might charge up. but no such luck. My main objective is just to get the phone up long enough to back up the info on the phone.

I left it charging over night and tried to turn it on in the morning but it was still completely dead. View 5 Replies View Relatedi have a bold 9000 given to me from my aunt because of this problem.i don't know what it should look like when it boots up or when it's plugged into the computer because it doesn't do anything when i try to turn it on.When i remove and replace the battery the red led light comes up for a little. The buttons then begin to flash for about 2 seconds then die. It does this repeatedly until only a little bit of the trackball is flashing.When plugged into the computer, it just does the red light thing again and my computer recognizes it and makes the usb noise numerous times periodically (and doesn't stop).
I've google'd around and searched around for solutions and I've tried every single one. Wipe and reinstall OS. That doesn't work because when i try app loader it says it cannot connect to the device in the second stage (sorry don't remember which one). Every single battery swap method. Leaving the battery out for 48 hours. You name it.

View 8 Replies View RelatedSimilar posts out here and can't find an answer: I have a BB Bold that was working fine today. Since 5:30 ET, it has gone to a black screen. When plugged in, the led light blinks 4 times, pauses, blinks 4 times, pauses, and so on. This blinking pattern has continued for hours. I unplugged and removed thte battery, and then returned the battery to the phone and plugged it in again with no improvement. The phone will not turn on and continues to blink as described. There has been no drop or moisture damage to the unit. Any ideas as to what is going on?

I used to have a Bold about 6 months ago, then switched phones, and I'm now back on the Bold. I could've sworn when I had the Bold last time, that there was a red LED ON when I charged the phone. Now I don't see it.

View 14 Replies View RelatedYesterday I was waiting for an important call but needed a shower so I took my phone into the bathroom and put it in a dry safe place where I would hear it ring if need be. It did so I quickly jumped out of the shower, dried hands and answered a message. Few minutes later when back at my desk at home I realized the bold was behaving weird, key presses were not doing the right function, i.e. a press of the back key brought up jk or other letters on the screen etc.
It did not sustain water damage, at worst my hands were merely damp when used so I just figured pop it down for a while and let it 'dry' (it wasn't wet but you know what I mean, its all I could think of) picked it up maybe 15 minutes later and it appeared to have died. Now, its 15 months old (and was a refurbished handset direct from 02 when I got it so its had a hard life) its been bumped, and not long after I got it I broke the screen (LCD bleed) so I had it repaired which forfeited the warranty, also the trackball has been a constant nightmare to me, it stops working in one or more direction regularly.
I've found the solution to this to be to clean the trackball gently with a q-tip dipped in clear alcohol, after some time this usually works, but a couple of months ago I could not get this to work at all so after 2 weeks of a phone that would not scroll left I had the trackball replaced. I now had issues with the trackball not selecting when I push down but this is got around by using the return key or it does sometimes work if you push hard. So, with this new flashing red light failure I took it back to the place that replaced the screen. They kept it for 24 hours and when I went back to collect it they said it was a component failure and beyond economic repair.
Quite truthfully though I got the impression that they actually just couldn't be bothered as it was a hard job. Came home and started researching, other posts I have read lead me to believe that if the LED comes on in any way all is not lost. My computer does not recognize the phone when I try and connect it via USB, although just now I tried again and windows acknowledged that a device had just been plugged in, but the blackberry software still did not detect anything. What can I try now? I am not tech savvy so it will need to be clearly laid out for idiots.
