When i plug in my BB 9000 without the battery it has a red led, but when i put the battery in to charge the flash on the camera turns on and the red led turns off the screen is always black and off is there a fix for this? i dont mind deleting everything on this phone.

View 7 Replies View RelatedMy admittedly very old Blackberry Bold 9000 has turned itself off and won't turn on past the white loading screen. It has a constant red light on with a black screen. The red light will disappear and the screen will go white and show the black timer box thingy for a minute or so like it is about to load then the process will repeat. It's been doing this since last night. I've finally admitted its time to upgrade and have ordered a new handset but would like to boot this up even if it is only to transfer current information.

I've tried searching for a thread like this but haven't found any.My 9700 just randomly "rebooted" this morning, where the screen goes black and the red led light turns on for a couple of seconds. This has happened to me before on my old 9000, where after it would then start up again. Nearing the time when I replaced it, it would do it quite frequently (and to think it just started getting really bad AFTER the 1 year warranty on it expired!). So back to the 9700, the progress bar that comes up when you're starting up the device would then come up, and sometimes load for about half an inch, sometimes only up to an eighth, before the whole thing would start again - the screen would turn black, the red led turns on, and the progress bar would come up again.I pulling the battery out for a few minutes and putting it back in but its still doing it. I then pulled it out for about an hour and its still doing it again.

View 14 Replies View RelatedFirst post ever but I've been following this site for blackberry advice for a while, but this time I can't seem to find an answer to my dilemma, I've seen on most posts regarding the black screen blinking red light issue but the problem stemmed from installing the OS. Thats not the issue I have, while at work I was chatting with my friend on blackberry messenger but a customer came by so I holstered my blackberry, by the time I finished and took out my blackberry the screen was black and won't turn on, I naturally assumed that my phone died although it was awkward for it to die at like 45% battery life so I ignored it until I got home. I placed my blackberry on my cradle to see if it'll charge but the screen remained black and the LED light blinks twice then stops, then blinks twice again and so forth. Should I do what the posters suggested? Run that program and reinstall an OS hoping it will save my blackberry?

Plus, if I'm on a call with the screen turned off, when an incoming call comes in, I am unable to turn the screen back on in order to answer. Plus, sometimes the phone is so sensitive that when the face is pressed up against it, it goes haywire and cancels out a call. The sensitivity is way too high. I am using Straight Talk as my provider so is there a way, I can remove all the AT&T stuff? And which ones do I not need? I don't like a lot of bloatware on my phone.

I have a BB Bold 9000, and it was working fine, i even updated and it worked great for months.and then last week when i tried to turn on the wifi to search for a network the phone got frozen for a few seconds and restarted it self continuously, like 4 times in a row. since then Im unable to turn the wifi on. bluetooth and service provider are working fine. Just wifi is causing troubles.I even tried to restore it to default settings using the lastest BB desktop software and no results.

The update downloaded and started to install, but after that it goes into recovery mode and ended up failed to update. The phone then reboots to the at&t logo screen, then to a black screen with error messages such as "Unfortunately, System UI has stopped", "Unfortunately, Media Storage has stopped" and "Unfortunately, setting has stopped".... I pressed the power button to see if I can go to emergency mode, but it will give me another one of those error message "Unfortunately, Emergency recovery manger has stopped" or something like that. The device still works, but two thirds of the LCD is now white and there's what looks like an inkblot on the left side of the screen. I'd like to try to fix it, but don't really want to shell out a lot of $ to do so --- I'm a month away from upgrading.Does anyone have any suggestions, or perhaps a dead BlackBerry with a working screen that you're willing to part with? A DIY repair -- this is out of warranty anyway -- looks straightforward, but I'm not sure I want to spend the $100 or so for a new OEM part to replace the LCD screen.

Occasionally the phone's screen will turn white. What I've noticed as that it typically happens after the phone shuts itself off. I don't know how it turns off, and it doesn't happen often, but occasionally I'll pull my phone out of my pocket and find that it's completely off. When I turn it back on it will boot all the way to the home screen without issues and then the screen will fade to white and stay that way. Pulling the battery does not fix the issue. All it does is kill the battery more than having the screen being all white and full power. Most recently it happened while I was navigating the Store in the Amazon Kindle program. Looking around I've seen conversations stating that the screen's going bad (which I doubt), the OS needs to be reinstalled (which I attempted through the Desktop Manager and I think I did it how I'm supposed to without wiping it with a 3rd party program), or that the phone is defective. My dad got the phone in November of 2008, and I got it when he decided to get an iPhone.
